When you look back on this year, what thoughts come to mind? Did the Coronavirus hinder you, or catapult you into more passionate projects?

When I look back on this year, I am in awe of, and deeply grateful for the amount of things I was able to create and achieve. Things that I deeply care about. I believe it is because I was much less distracted with my social calendar and more focused on seeing less people, staying in and putting my energy into the projects for which I would normally procrastinate.

Ironically, I made the decision to be more visible at the beginning of 2021 and thanks to the internet this was made possible in spades.

I took on many challenges, first times, multi-media including public appearances on national and international television, writing articles, speaking on podcasts, and repeatedly staying highly uncomfortable to reach my goals.

I vowed I would take cold showers every morning and I repeatedly did things that made me feel sick with worry. Sound wonderful?! Not at the time, but looking back I’m feeling proud!

In my recent mastermind class “The Five Key ‘C’crets For Staying Connected, Inspired & Fulfilled” I shared two quotes: “If you are persistent you will get it, if you are consistent you will keep it” (anonymous) and, “Consistency is more important than perfection” (paraphrasing Michael Hyatt).

This is so true because consistency is the way to keep moving forward mindfully.

My Five Key ‘C’crets are as follows:

  1. Confidence

  2. Curiosity

  3. Contentment

  4. Congratulate Yourself

  5. Consistency

Let’s have a closer look at these 5 ‘C’s.

1. Confidence comes and goes. It can be lost but it can be found again! It comes from experience, proving to yourself that you can overcome fear again and again by taking action. You feel scared. You feel incompetent, but you keep showing up again and again and again, until the confidence returns. And it ALWAYS does. The nerves never disappear, they lessen over time. If you repeatedly put yourself out there just focus on progress not perfection.

If you know deep down that you HAVE to, NEED to, or WANT to share your message or work with as many people as possible, it will likely feel terrifying, but trust it. Your WHY is key, and it overrides fear. Your work is bigger than you and you are here to share it! If I had listened to my ego, I would not have taken any risks or done half the things I’ve done, for fear of looking stupid and imperfect –Including publishing my book of personal poetry, or running a masterclass.

2. Curiosity is one of the greatest ways to stay open-minded and keep life exciting with childlike enthusiasm. When you stay aware of, and CURIOUS about the little creatures and any animals that cross your path, you will find that the universe is literally sending you messages all the time through these sightings. A few years ago in California, I had just finished a meditation with an intention around bringing in more abundance, immediately after, I looked out the window and there were forty or fifty turkeys all walking single file across my backyard. I was mesmerized and incredibly grateful to witness this scene because I knew turkeys are spiritually symbolic of abundance. These serendipities hold the secrets of the universe and are often your Guardian angel’s way of leading you down an exciting pathway of discovery. Here’s another quote for you: “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom” (Aristotle)

Get curious about yourself. Curiosity makes life magical and sometimes a bit edgy, taking you down mysterious rabbit holes.

Watch a child explore, trying something for the very first time. Completely absorbed. Free of time constraints. I witnessed a child on a plane once and his sheer delight and curiosity of taking off and landing was such a joy to watch.

Curiosity makes you fully present and your Guardian angel will be there with you as always. See if you can tune in to it, by breathing deeply.

It’s all about feeling Patient. Focused. Absorbed

When was the last time YOU felt this way what was happening for you at the time? When you are completely curious life is wonderful.

It also helps greatly with listening to others, asking them questions in person or even on the phone. Trust your intuition

3. Contentment gives you a natural feeling of lightness, ease and grace. It also gives you the mindset needed to make positive changes. Whether it is… kayaking on a lake, walking through a forest or through a field of sunflowers, riding on horseback, finding a feather, driving your car, sailing on a boat, feeling the sun on your face, swimming with dolphins, spending time with your pets, best friends, lover, or family… quite simply you have no need to be anywhere else. When content, you will likely notice a feeling of peace and calm. Your nervous system is relaxed. You are in the moment. You feel inspired. That’s when you feel the presence of your Guardian Angel.

There is something incredibly fulfilling about being in nature that brings great contentment, especially when the sunlight highlights everything around you.

When you look up ‘contentment’ in the dictionary it says ‘a state of happiness and satisfaction’.

Some synonyms: satisfaction, happiness, gladness, cheerfulness, ease, comfort, restfulness, peace, tranquility, wellbeing. Add some of your own. Why? because words carry energy, and just saying these words aloud brings us closer to the feeling of contentment. Try it now. say the words satisfaction; cheerfulness; ease; peace – notice how you feel saying these words.

One of the things on my bucket list was to walk through a field of sunflowers. I was driving around in circles and got totally lost. I heard a whisper ‘Turn here’.

I turned at the lights, down a random street to pull over and park, so I could check my GPS. AND THERE IT WAS at the end of the street! A huge field of sunflowers!! It was so Magical. My Guardian Angel lead me there for sure.

What does contentment look like for you?

4. Congratulating yourself

Be your own biggest fan. How often do you congratulate yourself?

Are you always hard on yourself and critical? Or maybe you keep quiet about your achievements. Write down 3 things that you are super proud of yourself for having achieved, survived, or experienced. Maybe it’s something tiny, or maybe something you worked really hard for. Maybe you had an angel experience and it left you feeling amazing! How do you feel when congratulating another person? Uplifted? Excited? Maybe you acknowledge their success with a gift, a cake, some flowers, a greeting card. Maybe you tell them you notice they are glowing!

Whenever you achieve something great, your Guardian Angel is right there with you… and incredibly proud. Congratulations! You have made it this far in life and you have made a huge difference to someone else’s life. You are moving forward and growing all the time. Wow!! you are amazing my friend.

5. Consistency

Sure as the sun rises every morning, consistency will allow you to keep showing up no matter what, and help you succeed every single time. Here’s another quite for you by Pamela Vaull Starr “Reach high for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep for every dream precedes the goalit’s not always going to be easy, so remind yourself ‘why’ you are continuing on towards your goal. Your ‘why’ will keep you there, and help you stay focused. Just keep going! You’ve got this. Once you “arrive” at your goal, there will always be more to create, more to produce, more to strive for. So just relax, enjoy the journey, and look out for the signs along the way.

I love using alliteration and acronyms. These two techniques always helped me study when I was at university and I use them today to teach and inspire others.

My new online program “Guardian Angel At Your Service” – ‘how to live magically: a beginner’s guide to harnessing alignment and regaining clarity so you can create more confidence and begin manifesting the life of your dreams ‘is built on the acronym G.U.A.R.D.I.A.N. A.N.G.E.L.S. with a lesson each day following each letter of the Guardian Angel Formula.

I hope this article has been useful to you as you prepare yourself for a new year ahead.

Be proud of all you have accomplished and know you always have your Guardian angel by your side to help guide you along your path in the game of life. I wish you an incredible year ahead with everything you wish for coming your way. Just remember, you’ve got to be in it to win it! So keep going, and listen to your body when it needs time out.
