If you are someone who wants to contribute to the lives of other people and impact them positively, then this is for you. If you are a business owner, then your staff looks up to you. If you are a parent then your kids look up to you. There are so many situations in our personal and professional life where we need to lead by example. Here are 4 traits anyone can develop that will help you become a role model for others.

1. Become an outstanding performer

Identify the gap between where you are in terms of your current results and what specific actions you need to take to raise your standards and reach a new level. When others see you consistently growing and achieving your goals, they naturally want to follow you and learn from you.

2. Identify & leverage your strengths

There are certain areas in your business/career and personal life that are your strengths and then there is somewhere your team member (s) or a family member might be good at. If you need to get something done by working as a team, one of the best things you can do is to concentrate on those activities which you are good at and delegate the other work according to the strength of each individual.

3. Challenge yourself to keep growing

Nothing inspires and motivates the people around you more than letting your results speak for themselves. Have you heard the popular expression – “Action Speaks Louder Than Words”? Stretch yourself to get out of your comfort zone consistently and keep developing new competencies so that you learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

4. Coach others to nurture their leadership skills

Leadership is not just about you being at the top and everyone else listening to you. It starts with you being able to empower each and every team member to not make excuses and take 100% responsibility for their results. Coaching can create the leaders of tomorrow and certainly assists greatly in enhancing productivity at work and fulfillment in their personal lives.
