For years, I’ve dedicated my life to gut health and colonics, working tirelessly to educate people on the importance of digestive wellness. But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be bringing this passion to the theatrical stage. And yet, here I am, standing in front of audiences with my award-winning one-woman show, Shit Isn’t a Dirty Word – How Gut Health Made Me Who I Am.

Gut health matters: Breaking the taboo on colonics

When I first conceptualized this show, I wanted to break the silence around gut health, make people laugh, and empower them to take control of their well-being. What I didn’t expect was the overwhelming response from audiences who are not only entertained but also deeply moved by the message. It turns out that people want to talk about gut health—they just need the right space to do it.

This show is not just a performance; it’s a movement. From sharing my personal journey to demystifying colonics, I’m here to challenge taboos and bring much-needed awareness to how our digestive system affects every aspect of our health.  I experienced the power not only of colonics but what a healthy gut can do if given a chance.

Years ago, I struggled with infertility, and more recently, my husband was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Those were some of the most difficult times in our lives. The stress and its effects on the body are impossible to explain. But once we came to grips with the shock and sadness of it all, I did what I’ve always advised my clients to do—take ownership of how they treat their body, mind, and gut. This time, I was doing it for myself and my husband—through a clean diet, detoxing, and colonics.

Today, I am so blessed to say that we have four children, and my husband is in remission. I firmly believe in what I do and want people to truly understand and believe in the power of the gut and mind. I want audiences to walk away not just with laughs but with knowledge, inspiration, and often a newfound appreciation for their own gut—which was my ultimate goal in the first place.

Turning passion into purpose: Her journey to the stage

Beyond the physical aspects of gut health, I also delve into the profound connection between the mind and gut. Science continues to prove what ancient wisdom has long understood—our gut is our second brain. The emotional and psychological impact of gut health is something I explore in the show, revealing how anxiety, mood swings, and even depression can be linked to what’s happening in our digestive system. When we heal our gut, we heal our mind, and that’s a message I’m passionate about spreading.

My passion for gut health is deeply personal. Years ago, I struggled with infertility, and my husband was diagnosed with stomach cancer. It was a terrifying and uncertain time, but we turned to clean eating, detoxing, and colonics as part of our healing journey. Through these lifestyle changes, I was blessed with four children, and my husband is now in remission. This experience reinforced my belief that gut health is at the core of our overall well-being, and it’s a story I share in my show to inspire others to take control of their health.

Winning an award for this show has been an incredible validation of my mission, but the real reward comes from the people who tell me they’ve changed their habits, improved their health, and even conquered fears about gut care because of what they learned. That is why I do this.

My mission starts now – Creating the movement of breaking the taboo of gut heath

With the premiere of my show in New York City in Times Square at Theater Row, I see this as a huge step forward not just for gut health, but more importantly, for colonics. Bringing this conversation to such a prominent stage means more people will have access to the truth about digestive wellness, detoxing, and the power of colon hydrotherapy. It’s an opportunity to shatter stigmas and open the door for gut health to be a mainstream conversation.

One of the biggest reasons people don’t talk about their gut issues is the stigma and taboo surrounding digestion, bowel movements, and even gas. Society has conditioned us to feel embarrassed about these natural bodily functions, and as a result, so many people suffer in silence. This lack of conversation is a major contributor to the rising number of gut-related problems and diseases. I wrote this show to change that—to create a space where we can laugh, learn, and normalize talking about gut health so people can finally take control of their well-being without shame.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to continue taking Shit Isn’t a Dirty Word to new cities and new audiences, which I am very excited about!  If you’ve ever been curious about gut health, if you’ve ever laughed at a poop joke, or if you’re just ready to feel better from the inside out—this show is for you. Let’s talk, laugh, and get healthier together.

Join me on this journey to break the taboo, stand up to the silence, challenge the stigma, and take control of our health.  Let’s embrace the power of gut health together. I invite you to laugh, learn, and take the first step toward a healthier, happier you. See you at the show!
