"A new life begins every morning!" an inspiring image that motivates us to start the day with vigor. Especially at the start of a new year, it is essential to establish routines to get back into the swing of things after the often hectic holiday season. Routines provide a structure that helps you to start the day full of energy and still have enough energy to enjoy it in the evening. This article looks at why morning and evening routines are so important, introduces different types, and gives tips on how to find the correct routines for you.

Why are routines so important?

In a world that is constantly on the move, routines offer consistency and orientation. They are not only beneficial for our health and well-being but also our productivity. Scientific studies show that a structured daily routine increases productivity, as routines help us to prepare for the day and use our time more effectively.

Routines are also important mentally. They can reduce stress and give us back a sense of control over our own lives. Through regular routines, we get to know ourselves better and can find out what works for us and what doesn't. A well-structured routine strengthens our mental health by creating stability and facilitating the development of positive behaviors.

Morning routine: The golden start to the day

The first hour of the day has an almost magical quality. It sets the tone for the entire day. Avoid checking your cell phone as soon as you wake up. Instead, focus on activities that get you in a positive mood for the day.

Possible elements of a morning routine could be:

  • Meditation or breathing exercises: Calm your mind and increase your concentration for a focused start to the day.

  • Gratitude practice: Be aware of what you are grateful for. This promotes a positive attitude towards life.

  • Dancing to your favorite music: An energetic way to start the day.

At your desk, you could then check your calendar and prioritize your tasks for the day to work more effectively.

Evening routine: Relax and prepare for the night

A good evening routine helps you to round off the day and go into the night feeling relaxed. It also prepares you for the next day.

Some ideas for an evening routine:

  • Walks, light exercise, or yoga: to get rid of excess energy.

  • Meditation & breathing exercises: To relax and calm the mind.

  • Journaling: Write down your thoughts and goals for the next day.

  • Gratitude practice: Be grateful for the day's experiences.

  • Visualization of the next day: Imagine how you will be successful the next day.

Finding the best morning and evening routines

To find the best routine for you, first think about what your goals are. Find out what works for you, and keep the routine short and personal. Plan your sleep and your day, and be ready to make adjustments.

Between routines: Don't forget to take breaks

Breathing exercises or visualization techniques can help you relax during the day and focus on positive things. It's essential to take time for breaks every day.

My routines

For example, I start my day with affirmations, a gratitude practice, and meditation. At midday, I treat myself a break and possibly a healing session. In the evening, I often practice yoga and take time for journaling. Before I go to sleep, I reflect on the day and visualize my business vision.

Conclusion

Morning and evening routines help us to start the day productively and end it in a relaxed manner. They should be individualized to meet personal needs. Remember to take time for yourself every day to relax and recharge your batteries.
