Ever have one of those days when the weight of everything, work, family, and the world, feels like it’s all on your shoulders? You’re not alone. As high-achieving women, we often juggle so much that we barely notice when we’ve taken on energy that isn’t even ours. But here’s the good news: quick energy resets can bring you back to the center, leaving you calm, clear, and aligned.

3 powerful practices to reset your energy anytime

1. Ask empowering questions

When life feels overwhelming, the first step is to pause and ask, What am I aware of? Often, we absorb the stress or chaos around us without realizing it, attaching personal stories to these feelings. By asking this question, you’re inviting clarity.

Follow up with if I didn’t buy this as mine. What would I be aware of? This practice helps you distinguish your energy from external influences. Maybe you’ll realize you’re picking up on collective tension, a loved one’s stress, or simply the buzz of a busy environment. Recognizing that not everything you feel is yours can bring an immediate sense of relief.

2. Shower visualization

Transform your daily shower into a cleansing ritual for your energy. As the water flows over you, imagine it as a nurturing, cleansing force, perhaps a soothing color like soft blue or golden light. Say to yourself, I now return and release anything that’s not mine and not in alignment with my greatest good.

This visualization allows you to energetically let go of what doesn’t serve you, while the physical act of showering amplifies the effect. It’s a simple yet deeply grounding practice you can integrate into your daily routine.

3. Box breathing

Box breathing is a powerful technique to calm your mind and body, especially when things feel chaotic. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Inhale for a count of four.

  2. Hold your breath for a count of four.

  3. Exhale slowly for a count of four.

  4. Hold the exhale for a count of four.

Repeat this cycle for 3–5 minutes. You can adjust the count to suit your comfort level, and if it helps, imagine exhaling through a straw to slow your breath even more. This practice not only soothes your nervous system but also creates a moment of stillness in a busy day.
