Morgan Lucas, Somatic Energy Worker

What first drew you to energy healing modalities? Was there a specific experience that sparked your interest?

My path to energy healing began in childhood, sparked by existential questions about death, spirituality, and the mystery of our human experience. At 19, discovering Reiki sparked a whole new world and became my passion. Yet it wasn’t until after giving birth that I felt called to offer healing professionally.

Becoming a mother surfaced deep layers requiring release. Immersing in somatic modalities to unwind from residual trauma lit something in me. Through my transformation, I understood these practices could help others reconnect to their authentic selves underneath the conditioning.

Though I had intuitively grasped the power of energy healing, experiencing it viscerally forged my devotion. My life’s purpose came into focus to guide people to find their inner healer through these incredibly powerful healing arts. Now I feel blessed to walk others down the path I discovered within.

For those unfamiliar, could you explain what energy healing is?

Energy healing is a broad term that makes up a variety of modalities that work with the body's energy fields to promote healing. The foundational belief is that we all have subtle energy systems, like chakras, aura, meridians, and energy fields that interact with the physical body. When our energetic flow becomes blocked or unbalanced, it can manifest as physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual issues.

In your experience, what are some of the biggest misconceptions people have about energy work?

A major misconception is that energy healing offers a quick fix – that one session will immediately resolve and heal deep issues. It is a gradual process that takes time as the nervous system heals. There is also an assumption that the work will be purely blissful. While I aim to nurture, deep releases can feel intense as things surface. My goal is to reframe expectations healing happens in layers over consistent sessions, not a single peak experience. By understanding the body's wisdom and timeline, we can approach the work with more patience and see lasting results.

You mentioned experiencing your first major somatic energy release during a Shamanic Womb Healing initiation. Could you walk us through what that experience was like?

Going into it, I didn't realize how powerful it would be. As my practitioner guided the energy through my womb space, I suddenly felt my body start to convulse, shake, and quiver, and then an ancient scream came out of me. Tears were streaming down my face. I knew I was releasing some very old, ancient even past life trauma in that moment. My practitioner held space for me to express and expel all that energy fully. Afterward, I felt lighter, freer, and so much more connected to my body. It was a major healing milestone for me.

How did that first release shift your relationship with your body and energy? How did it impact or inform your path as a healer?

It helped me understand on a cellular level how much our bodies hold onto and how energy and trauma get stuck if it's not expressed. I became passionate about helping others access that type of cathartic release. It reaffirmed my commitment to always holding space for clients to feel safe and fully express themselves during sessions.

You reference somatic releases being triggered now by simple things like a song or touch. What does it feel like for you when a release is triggered spontaneously? How do you work with the energy/experience?

It's a humbling reminder of how sensitive I am and a beautiful reminder that we are truly, at our essence, vibration and energy. I've learned not to resist it when the waves of emotion or movements throughout my body come over me. I try to find a quiet space to breathe, move, or vocalize through the sensations mindfully. Staying present with it allows it to flow through me with minimal disruption. It's become second nature for me to surrender to my body's wisdom in this way.

For those looking to explore somatic energy healing for the first time, what advice would you give about setting intentions, finding the right practitioner, and understanding the process?

I suggest tuning into your body first where is it holding stress or pain? Then set an intention that you are open to releasing or healing whatever may need to unwind from those areas. Look for energetic healers certified in modalities that resonate with you. You may have to try a few different modalities until you find one that you resonate with. Understand that the process is gradual, like peeling back layers. Don’t worry about dramatically “fixing” anything instantly. Be patient with your body’s timeline, as you are not only healing the pain and suffering from this lifetime but from your ancestral line as well.

In your view, what are the biggest benefits of committing to regular healing sessions over time? How can it be transformative?

Consistency is so important for reinforcing new neural pathways in the nervous system. When you return regularly, your body acclimates to entering parasympathetic states more easily. This allows you to go deeper into releasing old trauma patterns or chronic tension. Over time, profound shifts happen as the body re-learns how to self-regulate. You may notice changes in your mood, resilience, how you handle stress, your sense of embodiment, your state of consciousness and much more.

What inspires you to continue deepening your knowledge and practice of energetic modalities? What aspects of this work still fascinate or move you?

I’m so inspired by the possibility of human transformation. Seeing what people are capable of when trauma is healed at a cellular level blows me away. I find so much hope in this work—hope that even severe or generational patterns can be unwound with patience and skill. The privilege of holding space for someone as they experience liberation is such an honour. My passion comes from walking with people on their journey toward embodiment and freedom.

What can somatic energy work teach us about trauma stored in the body? About our human capacity for healing and liberation?

It teaches us that the body has an innate drive to return to wellness if we cultivate the right conditions. When we allow the body to unwind in its own time, prioritizing feeling safe, enormous healing is possible. Our bodies have tremendous wisdom; energy work reminds us to respect that process. It can guide us back home to who we are underneath our conditioning and burdens. That truth never ceases to amaze me.
