Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

I’m an Executive Health Coach and co-founder of Team HH (we have an executive online coaching business, a health club and bootcamp). I run the business with my wife and business partner Elly. We have 2 daughters Aoife-Mae and Niamh. I’m also a dog-dad to Alife our 12-year-old Staffy. I love spending time as a family but equally enjoy a good night out with Elly that often involves plenty of food and alcohol, so you could say I’m not the typical health coach one might expect to find. I’m a certified nutrition coach despite my love for what many call ‘unhealthy foods’. I have written and published 4 books and 2 of them have become best sellers. I also have ADHD. I dropped out of college (twice) and joined the army at 18 which taught me many of the life skills I use today as I run my company and raise my girls.

Can you provide an overview of your business – Team HH/ Hodgson Health Limited and its core products or services?

We provide executive health coaching which helps busy professionals outsource their health and performance to us. We have a health testing phase followed by hands-on coaching which has 6 key pillars- Stress, Sleep, Habits, Mindset, Nutrition, and Exercise. We do blood hormone testing at the start and use our 3 step formula for every aspect of our coaching – Track, Assess, Adapt.

What sets your business apart from competitors?

Over the last 18 months, we have built a world-class team so that when a client joins us they get a team of experts in their back pocket to assist them with all aspects of health. We have a Nutrition coach (me), a certified pre and post-natal coach, an accredited menopause coach, a stress management specialist, and an exercise and rehabilitation specialist. Which helps us to make a huge impact in our client's lives.

Also with Elly and I being parents and entrepreneurs, it really increases the relatability to our clients.

How do you utilize your online presence, including the website and social media, to enhance your business and connect with your audience?

I share my message and story as a personal brand (mostly on Instagram), every day sharing my content for free, giving value, and answering questions. Often when I speak to prospects I receive feedback on how much my content has helped them before even having a conversation with them. I am always 100% authentic in how I post so there may be imperfections to it, but often that adds to the relatability of it.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

I think about achieving the dream job where I genuinely work with people I love helping and I feel as if I never really work a day in my life because it's all built how I love it. In terms of accolades there are a few, becoming a best-selling author is a huge one for me, then winning Best Weight Loss Service at the corporate Livewire Awards 2023, and then getting a global recognition award in 2023 is another success story. I’d also say being asked to speak at 2 online super coach events in New York and the International Fitness Summit (one of, if not the, biggest fitness professional event in Europe)

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

I think the biggest thing I would change about the industry would be to cut the fads and quick fixes out of the industry. I feel that in the modern world, people do want quick results and unfortunately many will opt for the quick fixes and fads over the perhaps ‘less sexy’ alternatives that are slower, but more sustainable. I’d also like to see more governance over the way in which people are being coached to ensure it’s safety as I have had many clients join us who have had unhealthy calorie and activity goals.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

I was struggling with my mental health when I had a previous business and I remember my oldest daughter asking Elly why I am always sad. I knew something had to change and Elly encouraged me to seek professional help to work on my mental health. This helped save my professional career in the health and performance industry and led to us setting up what is now Team HH.
