Welcome to The Gift Shoppe, a series of sacred offerings to the soul. Each article in this series is a “gift,” a reminder, a revelation, a doorway to deeper truth. This is Gift 6: The Two Rivers Are One.

Aerial view of a lush forest with a river winding around a small, green island. Dense trees surround the river, creating a serene natural scene.

The question that opens the door

Every so often, a question rises in my soul that is more than a question, it is a doorway, a shift, a pause in the breath where truth begins to gather itself.

“Should I focus on remembering who I am, or on manifesting what I desire?”

Growing up in the church, I was taught to seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. I was taught to treat them as two different paths, the spiritual road and the material one.

But what if they were never separate?

And then my spirit team spoke

“You are not being asked to choose between remembrance and abundance. They are the same current seen through different layers of reality.”

I’m listening

“When you remember who you are, the current naturally moves through you as supply, opportunity, clarity, relationships, and money.”

Um, keep going

“When you align with material creation in gratitude and consciousness, you’re practicing the remembrance in motion.”

Think of it like the breath:

  • The inhale is inner remembrance returning to self, to stillness, to God, to Source.

  • The exhale is an outer manifestation, an action, an expression, a physical creation.

  • If you try to only inhale (all spirit), you float away.

  • If you try to only exhale (all matter), you collapse.

  • The art is rhythmic breathing between the two.

The hidden meaning of “seek ye first”

The “Kingdom” is the place within you where divine order lives. “Righteousness” means right alignment.

When alignment becomes your first vibration, everything else recognizes you as its rightful home. Lean toward integration of the divine through the human.

The mirror of desire

Your desire for the car, the home, the money is not greed, it’s remembrance trying to express itself through form. The Infinite longs to see itself reflected in matter through beauty, comfort, artistry, and movement. The key is to keep your why rooted in light:

“May every blessing I receive become proof of God remembering through me.”

Then desire becomes devotion.

A simple practice for integration

Mini-meditation: When the two rivers become one.

  1. Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly, the two rivers.

  2. Inhale through the heart, exhale through the belly.

  3. Imagine both currents rising and meeting in the center of your chest as one flowing light.

  4. Whisper, “The Divine in me and the Human in me flow as one.”

  5. Seal it with, “As I remember who I am, everything that is mine arrives.”

This is the gift

When you remember, abundance remembers you. When you love, matter obeys. When you breathe as both heaven and earth, you are no longer seeking, you are creating.

So, don’t fight the part of you that enjoys the physical. Let her be the canvas upon which your divine self paints the visible masterpiece.

And just like my mama always said, “It just keeps getting gooder and gooder.”
