- How to Use Lessons of 2020 to Move into 2021 Confidently & Empowered
Written by: Elena Herrera, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Are you beyond ready to say goodbye to 2020 and welcome 2021? I sure am! 2020 was a year of intense changes and challenges individually and collectively. For many of us, this has been an incredibly difficult year - while transformative and life-changing. In some ways, life kept going on as normal, but in other ways, it was a year of events that threw our plans out of the window, shook our foundation, tested our faith, and left us in fear for our future. 2020 has been a very significant year in many ways. Divisions were at an all-time high, connections were limited and strained, our foundation and daily lives were drastically changed, and stress, anxiety, and fear have been prominent. How do you process all this and move forward? I know you can’t wait for all the challenges of 2020 to be over and move on to 2021 with the hope of new beginnings and exciting opportunities. However, before jumping into the next year, it is important to reflect on this one and the lessons it has taught you. I bet you had many hard lessons this year! But you know what? There is a PURPOSE to all of them! Yep, these difficulties didn't just happen to you, and they had a reason. Let’s reflect together on some of the great lessons 2020 has taught us… LESSON 1: Get REAL Everything we had been carefully sweeping under the rug over time was thrown into our faces all at once this year. The energies of 2020 forced us to confront and deal with our internal shadows - self-destructive patterns, limiting beliefs, old suppressed emotions, old childhood conditioning, relationship dynamics, and internal void. The beauty of our current circumstances is that we had nowhere to hide! 2020 offered a unique opportunity to see the TRUTH about yourself and life - to get clear on what was no longer working for you, break out of the well-worn cycle, find a new perspective on your situation, reexamine your heart’s desires, and re-evaluate what you really want in relationships and life. LESSON 2: Slowing Down The global pandemic forced us to slow down big time. And for those of us who resisted, lockdown happened. Many of us kicked and screamed, refusing to limit activities, but eventually surrendered. In our world of constant movement, slowing down doesn't seem to be an option most of the time. So, when Covid-19 happened, it brought with it its own blessings - even though we were not able to see those blessings right away. So, what happened when we slowed down? A new space opened up. I bet you felt this space. There was a sense of deeper connection and nourishment - more quiet time, more time at home, more time with our loved ones, and more time for personal interests. Maybe you were able to spend quality time with your kids, cook healthier meals, implement a much-needed self-care routine, or turn to healing modalities such as meditation or journaling. Whatever that new space opened up for you, I am sure it was beneficial and supportive. LESSON 3: Surrendering to the unknown and embracing the change We are in a time when great shifts can occur in our lives, even though we can be confused about how to handle the changes and how to move forward. Fear not… you can leverage this time to your advantage by learning to trust yourself and lean into your dreams. How do you handle change? Are you a person who welcomes change, or do you resist it until you have no choice but to change? Change is inevitable, and when you surrender to change, you allow in things that your mind never thought possible. And most of the time, the results are much better than you expected, right?! We have to trust that everything happens for a reason and life has a way of evolving in a way that we cannot imagine. This year tested our faith and forced us to trust the process. Aside from all challenges, chaos, and lessons 2020 brought with it, it also brought an opportunity for powerful transformation. The lessons offered huge potential for self-growth, self-love, and self-expansion if you were willing to do the work. Take a moment to reflect and learn from these lessons, so they don’t repeat themselves - lay the GROUNDWORK for future success! Now that 2020 is over, how can you welcome 2021 while feeling empowered and confident? GO INWARD! There are a lot of powerful shifts happening now and continuing into 2021. This is the time when you are being pushed to let go of outdated beliefs, heal old wounds, and drop the defenses to create space for new - new perspectives, new views, new views, and new possibilities. This is a great time to focus on self-reflection, self-awareness, and self-growth. If you are willing to do the inner work, this time will support you greatly. SELF-CARE will be crucial this year. Put yourself on a priority list. Take time to make healthy meals, move your body (fitness, yoga, etc.), journal, and meditate. In addition, get clear on your values, passions, and type of energy you want to bring into 2021. A whole new direction is opening up for you - if you embrace it. SEEK HELP - you will greatly benefit from a support system. 2021 is the birth of a new world. You will be pushed to shed an old identity to form a new one. This is the time to do some deep inner work. Doing this work can be challenging, emotional, and, at times, even overwhelming and painful. However, it is essential to our journey of growth, success, and fulfillment. Remember, you don't have to do your inner work all on your own. As a matter of fact, it is beneficial to work with a professional who can help you see the blind spots you cannot see. - Choosing the Right Spare Parts Online
Sponsored Content Buying online has its pros and cons, and sometimes online buyers fear being screwed when they shop. Therefore, buying spare parts online can be a daunting experience, particularly if you have no fair knowledge about spare parts. Based on the scope of this post, your online buying process does not need to be a herculean task. So, let us drive you to choose the right spareparts from HCP Maskincenter. Know the Seller The internet has made it super easy to get information about a business or an individual. In this scenario, you can check if the spare part seller is an authorized dealer. It is not easy to find out the real sellers from the thousands of e-commerce sites and online shopping platforms. But do not be scared; instead, check the rating and review from previous buyers. Confirm Warranty & Return Policy These are some of the essential things to look out for when dealing online. However, most online buyer neglects this process. Perhaps, they buy without going through the warranty or return policy. This policy is important, especially when the product is not what you ordered, then there should be an option to get a replacement. Confirm the Originality of Products To confirm the originality of any product, you need to check with the initial manufacturer. This can be done by visiting the official website of the manufacturing company. Sometimes, to get genuine spare parts, you will need to buy them directly from the manufacturer’s online store. During this process, you will have the opportunity to go through the guiding manual, extensive product description, and other details relating to the subject spare part. Analyze Prices of Spare Parts You will find it difficult to know the right price of a product if you do not conduct pricing research. Therefore, do not believe in one e-commerce site because there is always a second option, which would become the best option. Take some time and conduct quick research on several online selling platforms before you settle.
- The Value of Customer Service
Written by: J. Francàis Foster, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. You might have heard someone say this before, "The customer is always right!" I believe this is true to some extent while providing the best customer service to my customers. Why? Because this establishes the relationship that I would like to maintain with them. From the initial point of contact, I introduce myself and my small business. When I ship orders, I like to provide a flyer to my customer with all of my social media information, phone number, and a brief synopsis of my products. If my customer ordered an item from my company that turns out to be too small or too large, it is a must to cater to them! I would like to build rapport in my customer’s reach, so they will become repeat customers that absolutely love the J. Francais brand and will provide referrals. Some customers like to put a time frame on receiving their items. The goal is to have their items shipped to them as soon as possible. If I run into an issue, I contact them via email or text to announce that it is a delay in their order and that I will ship to them as soon as possible. I truly appreciate customer loyalty, so ultimately, my goal is always to provide exceptional customer service and build long-lasting relationships. I absolutely adore my customers, and I will continue to have those amazing repeat customers. So, the value of providing great customer service is vital, so my business will continue to blossom and thrive during these times. J. Francàis Foster, Executive Contributor Brainz Magazine J. - 3 Ways to Have Peace during the Holiday Season
Written by: Melia Diana, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Where are you getting peace? Most people say they have peace but still have anxiety, worry, and fears that creep up... ruling their heart, mind, and soul. One little hiccup happens, and immediately people go into panic mode. Let me let you in on a little secret. The devil will do whatever it can to take your peace away. To steal your joy. To cause friction in your relationships. Arguments with loved ones. Who wants that when it’s the season to be jolly? 1. Step Away from Unnecessary Arguments There are plenty of ways that drama can transcend sending people in a tailwind. Perhaps your spouse just said something unpleasant to you. Or you invested money in an untrustworthy source, and they didn’t deliver. Urg… that could be quite upsetting. As much as people disappoint us- we must learn to step away from all unnecessary arguments. Stop and ask yourself, “Is it really worth your energy?” Sometimes we give so much of our precious energy into thieves of joy. God says- “Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions” (Proverbs 18:2 NLT). We can learn a thing or two from God’s wisdom. 2. Stop Listening to your Feelings So many times, we react from a root of bitterness, selfishness, or defensiveness. Did someone make you a promise and didn’t keep it? Was someone rude to you at the grocery store? Let it go. Get out of your feelings. Your emotions are meant to inform you- not control you. So, why do we let them? 3. Slow Down & Be Still Slow down enough to take in the brisk air. Watch a sunset. Just to be still and silent in the motionless. We need to take breaks. We lack wise decisions causing burn-out when we continue to push through weariness. We jam twenty things we have to accomplish on a petty check-list and wonder why we have no peace in our lives. Not everything will be handed to us on a silver platter. That means we will have to work for it, but not to a point you are pushing through exhaustion. Relax, my friends. These are 3 wonderful ways to have peace in your life, but there is one that triumphs overall. You might be asking, How much is it? Can I buy it on Amazon? Sorry, it’s not available for purchase. Better yet, it’s free! In a fast-paced world, it sure does make it difficult to receive peace. So, how do we protect ourselves living in an upside-down world? How do we have peace without taking the necessary steps to receive it? First and foremost, we need to find stability in God. He is the only one that can grant you this kind of freedom for your hurting soul. I’m going to grab a quote from my new book Vertical Relationship: 4 Steps To Salvation & Getting Right With God, to help you comprehend better. “We cannot change the past or control situational occurrences, and therefore we seek God for our peace.” I have to admit that I use to react when someone hurt me. I got defensive in areas of my life that God needed to clean up. I was quick to blame others when I was guilty of the same shortcomings. God says- “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own” (Matthew 7:3)? All these things stole my peace. The devil knew exactly how to steal my tranquility. The devil knows how to steal yours, too. It will use people, circumstances, and situations to corrupt your mind. Think about it. Harmony comes when we shut out the worldly views for solidity and bring forth God’s wisdom. This seems to be out of the ordinary these days. Believe me… I get it. Before a deep kinship with Jesus existed, I ran to idolatry and secular things that did the exact opposite for me. In fact, it lead me down endless rabbit holes and disrupted my peace. We run to everything but God and wonder why we don’t embrace peace. Do you really want sweet solitary? Peace is in God alone. “I have told you all this so that you will have peace in me” (John 16:33 NLT). This is why God sent His son, Jesus, so that you can have a personal relationship with Him. God wants us to live a peaceful life, not a peaceless one. Blessings xo Check out more in my new book! On sale for the holiday season! - 3 Simple Steps to End Your 2020
Written by: Jacqueline Walters, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Everyone will agree that 2020 was the most difficult and life-shifting year we have ever seen! Most people struggled through it, while others took the opportunity to allow 2020 to wake them up to what's really going on in our world and their own true inner power. As we near the end of 2020 and step into 2021, I want to offer some simple advice on how you can navigate the shift from one seemingly impossible year to whatever lies ahead for us. Step One: Reflect Take some time to acknowledge all and everything you went through this year. Don't compare yourself to others or those who maybe had it WAY worse than you. The guilt doesn't help anyone or anything at all... it's just a waste of time and energy. So drop the guilt and really focus on reflecting on your own experiences over the year, regardless of how anyone else moved through 2020. My advice is to find time in your schedule to sit down and put pen to paper. Journal freely all about your reflection on the past year. Don't give yourself any guidelines or structure. Write whatever comes to mind and then reflect on what you've written without judgment. Step Two: Evaluate Now that you've taken time to reflect and journal. Take a look at everything that came up. Take a few deep breaths and really FEEL whatever comes up. Check-in with your body, be quiet, and see if you can hear what your body is trying to tell you about everything you've been through. Then evaluate based on what comes up. What is truly REAL, and what did you just create in your mind that really has no place anymore. How can you (without bias) evaluate what you went through in 2020? Can you see it for what it truly is? Can you begin to see what should stay and what should go that isn't serving you anymore? This isn't always easy to do, but the practice of tapping into your body and really feeling what it means to you is very simple. Step Three: Decide It's really very simple now that you have taken time to reflect and evaluate this past year. You now get to decide! What does 2021 look like for YOU? Don't kid yourself. You always have the power to decide your future. So don't play victim to your past year- we've all done enough of that this year I'm sure. Now is the time to really decide for yourself how 2021 and your path unfolds. Go back to your journal. Skim through your reflection, remember how you felt when you evaluated everything, and now be quiet. Wait to hear from your soul what it TRULY wants….and journal all about that! Stay positive and in your own NOW. And write whatever comes to your mind and heart for how 2021 will play out for you. Again, none of this is easy to do. It takes a lot of courage and self-discipline to take yourself through a self-reflection journey. But I promise you, all these practices are SIMPLE and leave you energized and focused on tackling 2021 head-on! Remember, energy flows where focus goes. - How to Standout Online with A New Business
Written by: Jeraldine Peters , Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. The world is changing ever so fast, and in reaching their goals, many persons have decided to start their own online business or move their brick-and-mortar businesses to the online space. But with this influx of new businesses moving online, how does a business stand out from the crowd to make it all worthwhile or even profitable? Finding your space online and standing out requires you to prepare and build a solid foundation for a strong standout brand. Here are a few things to consider. Before starting any business, the business owner must consider the specific group of people in which their business will help to solve a problem (niche). It is said that if you try to sell to everyone, you will essentially sell to no one. Therefore business owners need to decide what problem they solve and how their product or service will improve or enhance the life of the end customer. A good place to start is to consider what problems are people trying to solve right now and what results they are desirous of having? This helps you determine which product or service to offer and choose a group of people to offer them to. The next phase is to spend time connecting with and learning how to speak to the people you are trying to help. Research to find answers to questions like; how are they expressing the challenges that they face? How are they expressing the result that they are seeking to have? What are the words and expressions they use? The answers to these questions will help you determine how to communicate your business solution to their challenges and the results they can expect to have when they purchase your product or service. Mastering these two areas will help you build your brand’s authority when you start communicating with your audience. You can use the information gathered from research to demonstrate that you understand them and that you are here to help them with the challenges they face by providing the best solution. Additionally, it also helps determine what marketing methods would work best to communicate with these persons. However, the most important factor in standing out online is to have confidence in what you offer, how you can help your customers, and that your business can and will be successful online. The market research will help boost your confidence about supplying your market with the product or service that best suits their current needs. Confidence matched with in-depth knowledge of your ideal client and how to communicate with them will give you the tools you need to create a unique brand that will catch the attention of your ideal clients, lead them to your products or services, build your brand’s authority, show your tribe that your business gives them the best answer towards achieving their goals and subsequently grow for you a sustainable business brand that will stand out online. - When Life Hits You Hard – Keep Calm and Take Your Adaptogens
Written by: Dr. Christine Manukyan, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. What are adaptogens? Adaptawhat??? Derived from the Greek word “adapto”. This might be the first time you hear about adaptogens! The term adaptogen is applied to plants that produce special substances allowing them to survive under significant conditions of environmental stress. Former Russian Soviet Union research scientists and pharmacologists Dr. Nicolai Lazarev and Dr. Israel Brekhman were the first to study adaptogens in the 1960s systematically. Their research found that adaptogens work by normalizing the body’s functions under stress and that daily consumption may improve mental and physical performances while reducing fatigue. Adaptogens encompass various plant and herbal medicines that are generally safe for everyone and work to target the areas in your body and health that need a boost or need to be rebalanced. To qualify as an Adaptogen, an herb must be completely safe and non-toxic, it must have broad uses for health, and it must specifically reduce stress, both mental and physical. To put it simply: ADAPTogens help you ADAPT. What are the health benefits of taking adaptogens? Adaptogens are my favorite superfood! There are so many varieties that serve so many purposes. Adaptogens greatly improve your body's ability to adapt to stress, whether it's a hectic schedule, heat or cold, noise, high altitudes, or any number of other stressors. This elite class of herbs impart strength, energy, stamina, endurance, and mental clarity. In many parts of the non-Western world, Adaptogens are used extensively in high-risk, fast-reflex occupations, from athletes to miners to deep-sea divers. With the scientific data to back these natural wonders already available and more research underway, it is only a matter of time before Adaptogens become mainstream in the United States. Popular stress management methods such as regular exercise, hobbies, meditation, and yoga are useful to mitigate daily stressors. Research shows most Americans instead resort to unhealthy habits when times are tough. Whether it’s alcohol, stimulants, or simply overeating, many Americans could benefit from finding a better solution to help manage stress. Additional benefits include but not limited to: Helps fight stress Maintains health and energy Enhances physical and mental performance Supports balanced mood Promotes calmness and control Helps balance and normalize the body’s systems (circulatory, digestive, excretory, endocrine, exocrine, immune, lymphatic, muscular, nervous, renal/urinary, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal system) Energizes cells to support faster post-exercise recovery Supports clarity and focus The great thing about Adaptogens is that they are usually available in powder form and can be added to smoothies, teas, elixirs, or even food. I prefer to take it as a premade liquid shot every morning to start my day. As with any supplements, make sure you check with your health care professional to make sure this will be best for you and listen to how your body responds to anything new. Keep a diary of how you feel, what you like, or don’t like when taking Adaptogens. I personally noticed a significant change in my energy and stress level after taking them for three consecutive days. I remember waking up before my alarm, energized and well-rested, excited to start my day. I also remember my husband telling me that I wasn’t screaming at the kids as much. I was much nicer😊 Well, I guess I was becoming more patient and could handle stressful days way better. What are the top 10 Adaptogens? Like I mentioned earlier, Adaptogens are my favorite superfood. I don’t go a day without them. Each one claims to do something a little different, but on the whole, Adaptogens help your body handle stress, and it’s ok to take more than a couple of Adaptogens a day. Let’s learn about my favorite plant Adaptogens (listed in no specific order). Wolfberry (Lycium barbarum): A red-orange berry of the Solanaceae nightshade family that ancient regarded as nourishing to the liver, kidneys, and eyes. Modern studies affirm its use in modulating stress and supporting faster recovery post-exercise. It is known for treating diabetes, repairing damaged liver cells, kidney function, and improving vision. It contains 500% more vitamin C than oranges, more beta-carotene than carrots, over 19 amino acids and 21 trace minerals, along with B1, B2, B6, and vitamin E. The extraction process is very important because most of the health benefits are in the berry’s skin. Wolfberry has been used for centuries for its anti-aging benefits. Eleuthero root (Eleutherococcus senticosus): A small, woody shrub native to Northeastern Asia used in traditional Chinese medicine as a natural remedy for reducing fatigue. Modern use of the root was popularized after the former Soviet Union popularized its use for its space and sport programs to support physical endurance. Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea): A plant that grows in the coldest regions of the world, including Northern Asia. Rhodiola has been traditionally used in Russia and Scandinavian countries to strengthen the body’s resistance to stress and improve energy levels. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): Used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine for centuries and native to India, Africa, and the Middle East. In recent studies, ashwagandha has demonstrated potent antioxidant effects. Studies have also shown it to support healthy brain and immune function. Bacopa (Bacopa monniera): A plant popular in traditional Indian medicine practices to enhance memory and promote longevity. Preclinical studies have shown it to have antioxidant and adaptogenic effects on the central nervous system. Schizandra (Schisandra chinensis): This berry grows as part of a woody vine native to the forests of Northern China and Eastern Russia and has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine. In human studies, schizandra has been reported to increase work accuracy and decrease fatigue and exhaustion feelings. Tribulus Terrestris (Tribulus terrestris): Also known as Puncture Vine, it has a detoxifying effect on the liver and improves the blood supply to muscles and the brain while increasing endurance. It helps with hormonal and libido problems in men and women. Siberian Ginseng: is the main Adaptogen responsible for athletic recovery while increasing endurance and lean muscle. It is used to improve energy levels, longevity, vitality, protect the immune system, and increase mental sharpness. It is also used for conditions for the heart and blood vessels, such as high blood pressure, low blood pressure, hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), and rheumatic heart disease. Some studies show its use for kidney disease, Alzheimer’s disease, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), fibromyalgia. Millions take it daily. This has been a game-changer for my recovery as I ran marathons and competed in multiple bodybuilding fitness shows. Before taking it, talk with your healthcare provider if you take any prescription medications as this herb interacts with many prescription drugs. Nepali Shilajit: is translated as “Destroyer of Weakness and the Builder of Strength.” Shilajit is harvested off the sides of the cliffs in the Himalayas. Its list of health benefits is as long as Siberian Rhododendron Caucasicum, above. It is high in trace minerals and supports health longevity. Maca Extract: Maca is a root vegetable grown high in the Andes, known as the Incan Superfood. Maca is high in amino acids, which play a role in sexual function, making it known for its sexual performance properties and enhancing fertility, memory, mood, and energy. Why would I need an adaptogen? Life is all about balance! You need to take adaptogens to help your body bring you back to homeostasis (i.e., your body’s state of balance) Many people suffer from imbalances in body systems. This can lead to fatigue, weakness, indigestion, heart issues, blood sugar problems, infertility, etc., and may even lead to disease. Taking adaptogens regularly will increase the body’s ability to cope with internal and external stresses and normalize the body's functions. I have been taking Adaptogens for six years, and they have significantly transformed my life - physically and mentally! There is no way I would have been able to crush my weight loss goals(100+ pounds), be the best mom I could be, and a Functional Medicine Practitioner without taking care of myself and making the changes that I did. You too can incorporate adaptogenic drink into your daily lifestyle and choose to start on the path to a healthier you! - How to Rest as An Entrepreneur
Written by: Danielle Perlin-Good , Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. When COVID-19 ransacked my home in early November, my husband and I needed to find ways to not only rest and take care of ourselves but also take care of our 2-year-old son. Even though we all had COVID-19, our son still needed to eat, play, and sleep. We were able to get through our 14-day quarantine thanks to Elmo, “The World Needs More Purple People” picture book, my husband’s job flexibility, and the fact that I had procedures in place to ensure my business could run smoothly. The idea of “hustling” has never appealed to me, but even more so when I was sick. We can’t necessarily plan for tragic deaths, illnesses, or anything of the sort. But as entrepreneurs, we need to have a plan-of-action so our businesses can run on their own. Have systems in place. Make sure you know what your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are to generate revenue seamlessly in your business. Do you need to prepare videos in advance? Do you need to record podcast episodes a month before they go live? Do you need to write out 18 pieces of content on the first Monday of the month? Whatever is on your list, make sure you use a project management system like Trello, Asana, or ClickUp. This will make your life so much easier in the long run, and you’ll easily be able to delegate tasks if you do need to take a break from your business. Get yourself a Virtual Assistant. The minute I became sick, I Voxered (is that a verb now?) my incredible assistant, Brooke. She took care of my social media, my messages, and my inbox. She even helped me reschedule client and networking meetings to ensure I could get the proper amount of rest. Because of her help, I was able to get the rest I needed to recover. Your Clients Will Understand. If your cousin tragically passes away one afternoon, or if you get a positive COVID-19 diagnosis (which, unfortunately, both happened to me this quarter), your clients will, in fact, understand. If you pretend everything is kol besedar , or “everything is just peachy,” you’re ultimately not only doing yourself a disservice, but also your client. There’s no way you’ll be able to produce quality materials when your mental state and/or physical state of needing to rest, for whatever reason. Be honest with yourself, and be honest with your clients. Trust me, they will want you to get better, and when you do, you’ll deliver them fantastic results. This holiday season, spend some time preparing your business for the New Year. Take some time off. Rest with your family and friends, even if it’s resting via Zoom. Happy holidays to you and yours. - How to handle Sales Call Objections in a Soul-Aligned Way That Results in Clients Signing Up
Written by: Eugenia Oganova, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Isn’t it so discouraging when someone… x Schedules a sales call with you x Fills out your very-thought-through questionnaire x And then says: “I am just not sure” or “I need to meditate on it” or “I know it worked for others, but I am just not sure it will work for me.” As a spiritual coach, healer, or a holistic professional, hearing these sales objections when you thought everything was going great can be scary, confusing, and even discouraging. Especially if you felt you were clear that they understood the value of your offer and were going to buy something from you. When I help my clients organize their sales process, I hear that prior to working with me, they encountered “I need to think about it” and “I can’t afford it” way too often. And here’s what I tell them: Objections are always reflecting to you the issues you already are projecting out into the Universe. They are not real; most of them are opportunities for you to show your expertise and actually help your potential client out of their fear! Overcoming these objections begins way before they get on the phone with you. This usually is misinterpreted by the spiritual coaches and healers (no matter how successful!) as this: This means I am not ready and have to clear all my issues first. This means I have to have more pretty quotes or professional photos of me on my social media. This means I should convince them to buy and push more instead of letting them go. Neither one of these is the correct solution! Obviously, you should work on your own issues – we all became entrepreneurs because we want to change the world, but we also get that personal development is part of the process. Of course, you should have amazing content that speaks to your ideal clients, and some professional photos wouldn’t hurt – but that in itself isn’t going to fix objections on the sales call. But it does mean that you have to show up as an expert, not take things personally, and actually GUIDE your potential client through the process of making a very big decision! If you want someone to enroll in YOUR programs, you can’t be enrolling into THEIR story! So, let's look at how you can improve your sales experience: 1. Objections are always reflecting to you the issues you already are projecting out into the Universe. This means that you need to study what kind of objections you are getting on the sales calls – and then look at how they relate to your own mindset so you can adjust it. If you are indecisive in your own life, you will attract people who have difficulty deciding on the sales call. If you tend to worry about how much things cost and count pennies, you will attract people who haggle overpricing. If you do not fully believe in your offer or your ability to support your clients, you will attract objections of “let me think about it” because the potential clients didn’t see the full value of your program. 2. They are not real. Most of them are opportunities for you to show your expertise and actually help your potential client out of their fear! People do not like to part with their money, and even if your potential client is all ready to do in the sales conversation, they might still run into their personal fears when you begin to talk about the investment. This is where it is critical to NOT take their fear personally, but instead focus on being a coach/leader that can HELP by being a witness to the potential client’s fear, naming it and guiding the person through it. The objections that your potential client brings up on a sales call are usually habitual issues in their life – probably the very reason they were not able to progress as fast as they would like. Holding them in love, without judgment, and showing them how this issue blocks their success, will guide them out of fear. 3. Overcoming these objections begins way before they get on the phone with you. That’s right! If your marketing, messaging, positioning, is confusing or unclear – it will create objections. One way to counteract that is to handle possible objections in your content as if you are answering questions. This will help potential clients clarify what they want and alleviate their fears ahead of time, so that when they do get on the phone with you, they are ready to go! . - 5 Signs You Might Have An Emotional Hangover And How To Cure It
Written by: Michele Ogston, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. “I am exhausted from being stronger than I feel” – Anonymous . I woke up the next morning not feeling like myself. I felt drained, achy, and I could even feel the beginning of a headache starting. I spent the morning pushing through my daily activities, hoping it would just pass. As the day progressed, it only got worse. Was I coming down with something? I replayed my actions over the past few days to see if I could figure out what was causing these sensations. It felt like I was coming down with the flu! The only vivid memory I had was spending time with a friend who “really needed to talk.” I recalled leaving that conversation completely drained. I had a hard time concentrating as I drove a few blocks home. I remembered arriving home and practically falling into bed. The next day she needed to hash it out again. I told myself that it would be okay; she really needed me. The conversation lasted longer than I had anticipated. Apparently, she really needed to empty out again. I listened, empathized, and gave advice when prompted. It was this next morning that I woke up feeling hungover, yet I didn’t drink anything the night before. In fact, I had been on a new health kick and had been eating healthy, drinking water, and getting exercise. That’s when I realized—I had an empath hangover! Dr. Judith Orloff writes in her book The Empath’s Survival Guide , “it's common for us to experience ‘emotional hangovers,’ an energetic residue left over from the interaction. Toxic emotions can linger long afterward, which make you feel exhausted, beset with brain-fog, or ill.” Here are some of the signs of an empath hangover and how to treat them: 1. You are easily startled: When you have an empath hangover, your perception of what’s happening around you feels off. You are often startled easily, and people might ask, “what’s wrong?” or “why are you so jumpy?”. Try and do a quick, grounding exercise. For example, place one hand on your heart, the other on your belly, and breathe. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, and you only need to do this for 30 seconds or more. 2. You feel exhausted: You feel like you’re coming down with something, almost like having the flu. You might be achy or have a headache. Your eyes might have a hard time focusing too. You will often feel very drained, as if you have no other energy to give. Rest or take a nap if possible. This will help you hit reset. Don’t be afraid to cancel or reschedule plans. Make some time for yourself without any other distractions. 3. You have a hard time holding a conversation: Your conversation skills will be lacking. Speech and digestion are the first things your brain lets go of when you are trying to survive. This is why your tummy might feel weird, and you might have a hard time finding the right words. Your body is focusing on circulation and has let go of other tasks. Try doing a quick visualization to help you let go. Gather all your thoughts. They can be happy or sad thoughts. Imagine there are leaves gently floating in the air. Now place each of those thoughts on their own leaf and watch as a breeze carries them away. Then allow yourself to let that breeze wash over and cleanse you. 4. You feel super sensitive: You might find that everything is bothering you, or maybe things that normally don’t upset you seem to be lingering. This is also a sign that you need to hit the reset button. When possible, take a bath or a shower. Water is a natural reset for empaths. It helps wash away all the negative energy you are holding onto. When a shower or bath isn’t an option, you can listen to music with water or waves washing onto shore in the background. You can try watching a video of the ocean or water running, which can have the same effect. 5. You have a hard time making a decision: Brain fog is a real thing that happens when the brain has reached its exhaustion level. Having a hard time making a decision is an indication that you might have an empath hangover. Usually, you will notice a small decision such as what you would like to have for lunch, what shoes to wear, or if you should or shouldn’t do something. It helps to be aware when you’re having a hard time making a simple decision. This is your brain’s way of saying it needs a break. Sometimes it’s as simple as breathing. When you can, take a moment, close your eyes, and breathe. That’s it. Sometimes we forget to breathe, and our brain is lacking oxygen. This is why we yawn when we are tired. Taking a moment to take some breaths can hit the reset for your brain. As a society, we are pretty good about watching where we could pick up germs. We wash our hands and even use hand sanitizer. We cover our mouths when we cough and sneeze away from people. We haven’t been as good about watching where we pick up negative emotions. Just like getting the flu, it’s so important to be vigilant about where we can catch an empath hangover. Clearly, I needed to be better about who I was spending time with and how much time I allowed this person to take from me. I went home that night and turned my phone on silent. I played ocean sounds and took a shower so that I could do a mindfulness shower mediation. I made myself a healthy but small dinner, then laid on the couch to rest and watch Netflix. The next day I felt like a brand-new woman. I was reminded that our energy is our emotional currency. It’s important to invest in the right things so that our emotional currency won’t be depleted. - Half A Century Is A Long Time
Written by: Jenn Taylor, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. I am writing this post on December 15, 2020 - my 50th birthday. That sounds surreal to me, but it feels amazing. My oldest daughter, when she was 6-years-old, asked me how old she should be to become a Mom. I told her she should be at least 25. She - in all seriousness - said, “25? I’ll be dead by then!” I replied that I was older than 25. She looked at me in horror and said, “Oh my gosh, Mom, how old are you?” I remember I was 28 - ironic as that’s how old she is now. At 28, I didn’t feel old or young, and I felt good and happy. I was very aware that time seemed to go by more quickly the older I got. I was given sage advice when my first daughter was born to cherish every moment because it would go by in an instant. I heeded that advice, but regardless of how hard I cherished it, time has indeed gone by too quickly. At that 28th mark, I decided it would be great to be 28 forever, and I would tell my kids I was “28 plus 13”, etc.. on every birthday. Eventually, they would catch up, and we’d be in the “28 Forever Club”. The math became daunting, and I actually sounded older with my massive math equation, so I decided instead to just embrace where I am, which has been far more fun. I recall being a kid myself and thinking 28 seemed ancient and forever, far away. It also seemed unhealthy to get older, but as I’ve been experiencing it myself, I’ve loved every minute. Every season. Every change. I believe I chose my life, and I love it - even in tough times. I knew if I didn’t love it, I could choose differently. In these 50-years, I’ve learned a thing or two, and I’m sharing insights with you in the hopes you add to them or listen to them and maybe even relax a bit. 50 Things I’ve Learned In 50 Years Not everyone will like you and that’s okay. You won’t like everyone. We can still be pleasant to each other. You can know you’ve done a really great job as a parent, but your kids won’t necessarily agree - and that’s okay. There is no failure, only feedback, but that feedback can still feel like it’s kicking your ass. New running shoes DO make you faster. Just ask a runner with new shoes. You won’t be good at everything, but that’s okay. You can find someone who is, consider them a resource and let them shine. When people bring you food or ask to help, just say yes and thank you. If someone compliments you, say thank you. When someone is kind to you, say thank you. Just say thank you - often. Change it up and make someone else feel fantastic and say, “I appreciate you.” If everyone just picked up after themselves, our world would be clean. So would my house Laughter makes you feel better than you ever imagined. Find people to laugh hard with and do it often. Peeing your pants is a bonus Never trust a fart. Seriously. N-E-V-E-R When you feel or think something good about someone - say it. Even when the person on the drive-through intercom makes you smile When you feel or think something negative about someone - stop. Think about it for several minutes. It’s amazing how often you end up staying silent Words can hurt people or make them feel euphoric. Choose them wisely There is no price tag on friendship. Have fewer, great friends who love you for who you are and reciprocate it. (See 11) Love yourself first and then love others Be kind. It’s free and feels amazing Everything in life is an adventure. From getting lost, to getting married, from having a baby to having a good cry, from getting divorced to reinventing yourself Your story is good enough to be shared, and people want to hear it When it comes to boundaries, “no thank you” is a complete sentence Strength comes from overcoming the things you once believed you could not do Recognize your wins and pat yourself on the back. We don’t give ourselves enough credit far too often Listen to music that makes you feel good. It’s nearly impossible to remain in a bad mood The people you love are your most precious gifts Spend more money on adventures and memories than on things. You’ll forget the things You can make an incredible difference in the life of someone else, in passing, without knowing it happened Your kids are watching you - make sure you’re showing them what’s important Stop saying “I’m sorry” for every little thing, but say it when you should You’ve had a 100% success rate for getting through tough days. You are a badass Let go of the things that don’t matter - like the toothpaste being squeezed “wrong.” He may leave the seat up occasionally, but I always leave it down. It’s all in perspective Celebrate the little wins - compound interest can make you rich - the small, daily, easy actions that add up over time are enormous Life is too short to “save it for later.” It’s later now Presence over presents - your time is invaluable Don’t underestimate the power of a good foot rub. Or back rub Embrace your dorky side - it’s one of your best qualities Only wear a hat that says “I woke up like this” if you really woke up like this Sing loudly even if you don’t know the words - especially if you don’t know the words. Just make stuff up Cheer like crazy for the people you love - even if you don’t understand the rules of the game Be you. The world needs you. You were given your unique experiences, skills, talents, traits for a reason. Shine brightly and be committed to learning about you and sharing that with the world. You are a gift If you want to try something new, there will never be a better time than now (see No.33) Eat the cookie. Just don’t eat ALL the cookies 20-minutes outside changes your brain. Go outside. Put your face to the sun and breathe (even when the sun isn’t out) Filling your mind with good things is important, but so is learning to empty it. Find the thing that helps you let go. Running, meditation, writing, painting - whatever it is - and don’t forget to empty Unplug from everything every once in a while. You’ll notice the things you’ve forgotten to plug into Remember what gives you purpose, passion, and drive. Reignite it, reinvent it, reclaim it Write things down - you will forget Hug people and when you do, really give it your all. Hug like it’s the last time every time Don’t judge people. They will surprise you You can create a life you love. First, you need to determine what you really love In my 50 times around the sun, I’ve done a good job of keeping myself healthy and fit, I’ve continued to cherish time, I’ve managed to get through struggles and trials with a 100% success rate, and although tough times aren’t fun, they also don’t last forever, and they teach a tremendous amount. I take a lot of pictures, and I make a point of telling people I love them. I’m a dork at heart, and it’s one of my favorite qualities. I’ve made errors in judgment, and I have hurt people with my actions or words, but I have shown up 100%. Some days that looks like I”m knocking it out of the park, and other days it looks like a fraction, but I can say in hindsight that I’ve given my all and my best. For the times I’ve fallen short - I am truly sorry. For the times I’ve nailed life - you’re welcome; it was my pleasure. Cheers to the next 50-years. - Why Financial Insecurity Is Not A Lack of Money
Written by: Aimee Teesdale, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. When I was 12 years old, I overheard my parents having a huge argument. I heard items being thrown — one of which may have been a fist — something my Dad denied when I asked at the time, but my Mum affirmed. To this day, I still have no idea who was telling the truth. I described the event in my diary as "World War III, breaking out in my home ." I was terrified. I also wrote, "I hate my Dad. But he can't leave ; we could never survive on my Mom's wages." This, plus the bullying I faced at school for not wearing the latest Adidas trainers like all the other kids, left me feeling desperate for money in the hope it’d bring me safety and security. I spent the following 20 years of my life assuming that ‘when I have money, then I will feel safe and secure ,’ and believe me, I did some things I am not proud of to try to get it, including actively seeking sugar daddies and investing what savings I did have into dodgy ‘get rich quick’ schemes (only to lose it all.) I was approaching burnout, constantly on the treadmill feeling like I was on the verge of success and security, but never seeming to arrive. For 5 years, I built my business in survival mode, and I constantly felt like I was struggling to keep my head above water. I borrowed money and invested in countless coaches and marketing courses, thinking that that’d be the thing that finally got me to where I wanted to be: metaphorically safe on dry land. My experience highlights a huge error in human thinking that most of us fall victim to: believing that something external and outside of us will give us the feeling we most desire. Whether it be money, status, or romantic partners, we strive for those things without realizing that what we are really striving for is some form of love, safety, or belonging. The other thing I couldn’t see at the time was that my financial situation was NOT the cause of me feeling financially insecure. But rather, my financial insecurity was the cause of my financial situation. Those highly emotional experiences that I encountered as a child led me to believe ‘I can’t survive without money’ and ‘I don’t have much of it ,’ beliefs that colored my perception of reality the same way a pair of sunglasses colors it too. Those beliefs then drove corresponding behaviors that made my external reality match my internal one more and more. Your beliefs always precede reality. So if you want a different reality, start by changing your beliefs. That’s what I had to do: I had to confront the fear that I’d spent the previous 20 years trying to run away from. I cried like the fearful little girl who just wanted someone to look after her. And I gave myself the thing I had been searching for all that time: safety and security. I let go of the idea that it’d come from money and embraced the idea that it comes from within. More specifically, it comes from love: loving myself, knowing that others love me , and committing to helping others love themselves unconditionally. As if by magic, the more I love, the safer and more prosperous I become. Because that’s all that financial insecurity really is. It’s not a lack of money. It’s a lack of self-love. And there is nothing external or outside of you that can ever give you that. No amount of money will make you feel safe if you don’t allow yourself to feel safe. No level of success will make you feel loved if you don’t give that love to yourself. Everything you truly desire comes from within, by removing the barriers that get in the way of you feeling loved, safe, and belonging in the first place. Sure enough, I am now financially secure, free, and prosperous for life, simply because I choose to be simply because I choose love. I invite you to choose love, too.
