Haribo sweets in the Netherlands have been found to contain traces of cannabis after several people from the same family reported feeling unwell.

Customers in the Netherland who have bought packets of Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ are being urged not to eat them while the company investigates what has happened.
A recall has been announced of the 1kg bags of these specific sweets with a best before date of January 2026 and a specific bar code. This is only in place for The Netherlands. Full refunds are being offered.
The Dutch food safety body in the Netherlands (NVWA) is now investigating and it reported to Dutch broadcaster SBS6 that "samples were taken and cannabis was found in them". “How the cannabis ended up in the sweets is still unknown,” a NVWA spokesperson told the Dutch news agency ANP. “The police are investigating the matter further.”
It has not been confirmed how many people became unwell. The Guardian writes though that the sweets are genuine.
BBC News has spoken to the sweet maker and was told that it is now working with the police to "establish the facts around the contamination". Haribo adds that no other products have been affected. Patrick Tax, vice-president of marketing at Haribo told the press: “The safety of our consumers is our highest priority and Haribo takes this incident very seriously.”
