Being an entrepreneur isn’t just about starting a business; for me, it’s been about turning personal struggles into a mission to help others. I’m Israel Bailey, from Birmingham, and my path to becoming a Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer wasn’t planned; it came from a place of necessity.

a cheerful moment with three men, including a fitness coach holding a clipboard

Not so long ago, I found myself at rock bottom. I was overweight, stressed to the limit, and stuck in a job that left me drained. My sleep was poor, my diet was worse, and I couldn’t see a way out. The man I saw in the mirror felt like a stranger, and I knew something had to change.

It wasn’t easy, but step by step, I turned things around. I worked hard to lose weight, build my fitness, and completely reset my mindset. I went from relying on medication to managing my health naturally, proof that lifestyle changes can have a massive impact. What started as a personal journey became something much bigger: to help others do the same.

Since 2015, I’ve been working as a Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach, helping people who feel like they’ve tried it all and still haven’t found what works. My approach isn’t about quick fixes or fads—it’s about making changes that stick. I focus on fitness, nutrition, and mindset because I know from experience that you need all three to truly transform your health.

In 2014, I co-founded a boot camp here in Birmingham. It became a brilliant community where people supported each other and achieved things they never thought possible. When the pandemic hit and gyms closed, I adapted by running online HIIT classes, showing that no matter the circumstances, there’s always a way forward.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been helping type 2 diabetics take control of their health. Many of my clients have avoided lifelong medication through the same methods I used myself. I also specialise in working with older adults who want to regain their energy and feel younger again. It’s never too late to make a change, and I’m living proof of that.

I’ve even put my knowledge into writing a book: Eat Smart, Spend Less. It is designed to help people get healthy without breaking the bank because I firmly believe that health and fitness should be accessible to everyone, not just the wealthy or the elite.

Being an entrepreneur has been an incredible journey. It’s not always been easy, but every time I see a client hit a milestone or rediscover their confidence, it makes everything worth it. I’ve built my career on helping people believe in themselves again, and there’s no greater reward than that.

So, if you’re sitting there thinking it might be too late or too hard to make a change, let me tell you this: it’s not. If I can do it, so can you.
