Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as EFT, or tapping) is not only a wonderful therapy method, but it is also amazing self-help and personal development tool for everybody, even children.

EFT is a gentle, non-invasive, and incredibly powerful way of working with just about any sort of physical pain, unwanted emotion, or mindset issue without re-traumatizing the client. It is commonly used for:

  • Panic attacks and anxiety

  • Trauma

  • Stress

  • Grief

  • Fears and phobias

  • Physical pain

  • Management of stress-related illnesses, such as hypertension

  • Food cravings

  • Lack of confidence

  • Procrastination

  • Addictions

  • CFS and fibromyalgia

  • Exam nerves

  • PTSD

  • Chronic illness

  • Sports performance

You can find a basic explanation of EFT in my video, and here, Nick Ortner (the NY Times best-selling author of ‘The Tapping Solution’) talks about how EFT rewires the brain.

EFT is an all-natural way to manage stress, anxiety, pain and intense emotions: it’s a great modality for self-care.

Did you know?

  • EFT is increasingly being welcomed into schools and is being used by health professionals and practitioners, such as coaches, counsellors and mental health professionals.

  • Scientific studies have shown the effectiveness of EFT. You can find research, published clinical trials and other evidence supporting its effectiveness here.

  • NHS England has recommended further research into EFT, comparing it to EMDR for post-traumatic stress. EFT also appears in The Cochrane Review, an independent body that publishes systematic reviews of research evidence and is regarded as the gold standard of high-quality health care information.

For results that are terrific, be specific

You will find many ‘tap along’ videos on YouTube, which can be useful: in times of stress and anxiety, even general tapping will help. However, to get the best results for more complex issues, the words and tapping phrases should be particular to the person they’re being used on. Through training, a practitioner such as myself can demonstrate how to select the most appropriate language, as well as how to implement tapping in various situations and for different people. Train in Emotional Freedom Technique

These are the three levels of EFT training I provide:

EFT 1 – Foundation Course

The foundation course will give you the tapping skills needed to tackle physical pain, emotional distress and anxiety for yourself, as well as your family and your friends. It is also the first step to becoming an accredited practitioner!

What will we cover?

During this one-day interactive Zoom course, you will learn:

  • EFT history: how EFT was created, and its relationship with acupuncture points

  • All the tapping points

  • How to use EFT

  • Some of the uses of EFT are, including stress, anxiety, fears, phobias, cravings, and physical pain

  • How to quantify the severity of issues and how to use the set-up statement

  • How to use basic EFT with a partner

EFT2 – Intermediate Course

This will give you a deeper insight into using EFT. During the course, you will recap and consolidate the knowledge gained in Level 1.

This three-day course is delivered via Zoom and uses the EFT & Mindfulness Centre syllabus.

What will we cover?

  • What EFT is and how it originated

  • How to apply EFT to resolve unwanted emotions, physical pain, phobias and trauma

  • How beliefs are formed, why we hold those beliefs, and how to change them

  • Working with clients and managing issues that can arise

  • Working with children and animals

  • The emotions behind cravings and addictions and how to address them

  • How to set up an EFT practice and attract clients

  • Your own personal plan for using EFT

This is delivered using the EFT & Mindfulness Centre syllabus.

  • Once you have completed EFT2, you can then either progress and qualify as a practitioner or simply continue to use it as a self–help and development tool for yourself, family and friends.

  • Further requirements including case studies and an online open book examination are required to qualify as a practitioner.

(Level 1 and 2 can be booked as a package. You can then complete Level 1 and follow it up with Level 2 a couple of weeks later, or take a break and complete Level 2 at a later date.)

EFT3 – Advanced Practitioner Training

If you have qualified as an EFT Practitioner and have been practising for a while, you may decide you would like to increase your knowledge, and gain more confidence.

The Level 3 course is designed to consolidate everything you have learned at Levels 1 and 2 and to introduce new skills that will enhance your results. It is expected that you have had time to practice your Level 2 techniques and are now ready for something more challenging.

It is also recommended that you have worked on yourself with another practitioner before you begin Level 3.

What will we cover?

This two-day course is delivered via Zoom, and covers a wide array of information, including:

  • How to break down problems

  • How to reframe a question

  • How to overcome resistance

  • What do when your client shows little or no emotion

  • Working with serious diseases

  • How to market your practice

  • How to conduct an EFT session

This is delivered using the EFT & Mindfulness Centre syllabus.

On completion of the courses, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

EFT Practitioner in Education

This qualification equips staff to use EFT in a school setting. I am currently looking for schools who would be interested in using EFT with their staff and students and/or training their staff to use the technique.

Why Train with me

I am an Accredited Master Trainer and Supervisor with the EFT & Mindfulness Centre, who have introduced consistency, accountability and a structured way of teaching EFT under Helena Fone. You can find links to the centre at the end of this article.

My interactive sessions are delivered online, so location is no issue.

I only take a small group of people on each training course, so you will get to know the other students, and I can give you the best possible group teaching experience.

I am able to be flexible and run my courses at different times, so you can take part no matter what time zone you live in.

I will also provide you with ongoing support while you are training, and beyond.
