It's my birthday month so this calls for a celebration! And may I wish a very happy birthday to any of you also celebrating this month.

How often do you celebrate yourself?

Celebrating my birthday wasn't something I did much of in the past. I wouldn't want to make a fuss and so would keep it quiet, secretly hoping someone would organise something special for me. You see, growing up I learned to put the needs of others first to feel appreciated and valued. As this trait followed me into adulthood, it seemed that no matter what I did, I still wasn't living the life I dreamed of.

I had to go through several painful challenges before I finally turned to face myself and do the inner work. I started to see that this early childhood conditioning had been keeping me from enjoying life and slowly killing my spirit. At that moment, a shift happened and my new life began to emerge.

Because what needed to change was my sense of self. If I wasn't going to celebrate myself, how could I expect that anyone else would?

Change always starts within and so in order to start living the life I dreamed of, I needed to learn to believe in myself and the value I have to offer the world – just by being me!

You see, once I discovered that everything that had happened to me was happening for me, my consciousness and ability to navigate life's challenges shifted rapidly. When you understand that your thoughts and emotions are not who you really are and that they're a guidepost for you to tap into your inner wisdom and power, that's when you start to consciously create your life rather than unconsciously react to the challenges of life.

Belief is an incredibly powerful force in our lives. It can help us achieve our goals, reach our dreams, and become the best version of ourselves. It can also keep us stuck in our comfort zones, holding us back from the life we want to live.

What Is belief?

  • A strong feeling that something is true or real

  • A conviction of the truth, reality, or existence of something

  • A state of acceptance or certainty in one's mind

The benefits of belief

Increased Confidence When you truly believe in yourself, your confidence naturally increases because you're being true to who you are. Your faith in yourself and your abilities gives you a strong sense of self-worth and a deeper knowing that you can handle any challenge that comes your way.

Improved Performance Being clear in your decisions, you act with confidence from a place of certainty. This approach gives you greater focus and concentration on tasks, increased motivation and drive as well as greater resilience and adaptability.

A Positive Outlook Having an optimistic and hopeful attitude helps you to bounce back from adversity and a greater appreciation of the present moment. Everything is unfolding perfectly and there is nowhere to be except right here and now.

3 Tips for Enhancing Self-Belief

Take Action

  • Make a plan and commit to it

  • Take small steps towards your goals

  • Monitor your progress and recognize successes

Surround Yourself with Positive People

  • Find people who have a positive outlook on life

  • Seek out individuals who are supportive and encouraging

  • Spend time with people who inspire and motivate you

Practice Self-Acceptance

  • Acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses

  • Celebrate your accomplishments

  • Forgive yourself for your mistakes

Conclusion

The power of belief is an incredible force that we all possess. By utilizing the power of belief, we can create a life that is meaningful and full of purpose. When we believe in ourselves and trust our instincts, we can make decisions that are beneficial to our well-being and our future. We can also take ownership of our lives and our decisions, allowing us to take control of our destiny. Lastly, we can focus on the present and plan for the future, setting goals and aspirations that we can work towards.

By harnessing the power of belief, we can transform our lives and achieve amazing things.

Whilst we may only have one significant birthday a year, we have the opportunity in each moment to birth a new potential, a new version of ourselves and evolve to a higher potential. Celebrating yourself is a way to find more joy, safety and presence, and means you're genuinely grateful for your life.

I invite you to celebrate who you are today and how far you've come... the big victories and the small! Congratulations! What will you do to celebrate yourself today?
