Thibaut Ottomer, Mindset Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

My name is Thibaut, I´m originally from Belgium and have been living in sunny Barcelona for over 14 years now. As a kid I always wanted to live in a country with palm trees so when I met my first boyfriend who lived in Barcelona, I decided to follow love, my intuition and a childhood dream. It was a scary move as I had just launched my career and own place but it felt right. That love changed over the years, but my love for this balanced Mediterranean lifestyle stayed. Looking back I can now see that such scary moves really shifted my life for the better. Several times.

What inspired you to start Liberty Coaching, and what values or principles does your business embody?

When I was a teenager, I promised myself that one day I´d help human beings become happy independently from others as I grew up feeling the burden and responsibilities to make other people happy, driven by guilt and a fear of rejection. Using my pain as my power, as they say. My idea with Liberty Coaching is to make self-development accessible with the freedom to be yourself, the courage to discover yourself and the confidence to enjoy this best version of yourself. Adding care, kindness and fun to the mix and you´ve got the picture.

My principles are easy; take ownership of your life and its outcomes, be the creator of your life and get the right people by your side so you can enjoy the ride together. My liberation methodology is based on freeing yourself from all your blocks, fears and limitations so you can fully and truly show and grow yourself. Uncover and re-discover yourself!

Can you walk me through the range of coaching services you offer and how they can benefit individuals or organizations?

I have several coaching programs to guide both individuals and companies towards their success.

With my private coaching services, you´ll gain clarity on who you are and where you want to go, have the courage to look at your blocks and take the actions needed to achieve your goal, gaining confidence by experiencing self-growth and instant results.

For companies that value a positive impact in this world, I help them improve their team performance using both coaching and consulting with tailored made programs after doing an intense company audit. Going top-down, inside out. First looking at the C-level management so they can inspire the different teams. From inside the company to the outside world boosting their positive impactful results. I always say to these companies; you focus on making this world a better place with your product/service, let me make sure you are at your best performance to do so. Creating this synergy is what makes this world an exciting place and time to be in.

How do you differentiate Liberty Coaching from other coaching services in the market?

That is very simple, with my own unique energy and self-created liberation methodology. I feel I don´t have any competition as my clients choose me for my presence, experience and coaching style which is direct (I love to hold you a mirror) so you can hear what others don´t dare to tell you always given with love and the most beautiful intention, to get you out of your excuses and get you into your full potential. I care for my clients, I want the best for them and enjoy working with them. That is what makes Liberty Coaching different. Try it out if you´re curious by now!

I noticed you offer both individual and group coaching sessions. Could you elaborate on the advantages of each approach and how clients typically choose between them?

The individual coaching sessions are deep dives into one´s past, present and future goals set. We heal, understand, accept, and forgive so we can discover who you really are underneath all the insecurities, doubts, and labels you learned to put on yourself to protect you from not being loved or accepted in the past.

Group sessions offer a different kind of deep transformation with the advantage of belonging to a bigger group of people who go through similar struggles and aspire the same kind of goals. Realizing you are not the only person with these problems (sorry, you´re not) and having a support group of like-minded individuals who create a safe space for you show all of you, both the "good" and the "bads" non-judgementally, is pure gold and very encouraging. Both are life-changing.

Your business mentions a focus on personal development, leadership, and well-being. Could you share some success stories or case studies that highlight the impact of your coaching on clients in these areas?

One of my clients came to me because she did not speak with her family, wasn´t intimate with her partner anymore, hated to go to work each day and saw life as a grey annoying place to be. After working together for just a few months, she is full of life and energy again, speaks to her parents with understanding, is enjoying the affection from her partner and can cope with her job when things get challenging.

Another amazing client contacted me as he felt stuck in his career and lacking the clarity on what project to take on but mostly lacked the courage to take that jump. Working on a clear plan to transition, the courage to take action, and keeping him accountable for his words, he managed the reach his goal even a year before the deadline, that was even before we ended working together for just 3 months. Being able to guide such people is really an honor and pleasure. Seeing my people shine, loving what they do and being happy is what makes me proud of being part of their journey.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

I believe the coaching industry needs more humanity. I love to see when a coach is showing its true colors, feelings, and being vulnerable as that is where the real work is. Sharing how we overcame this and not pretending all is ok, that is what inspires me, what I try to do and what I would love to see more powerful coaches do in this industry.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

These scary jumps as mentioned before; saying no to the offer of becoming a CEO and listening to my intuition instead of going full-on for my coaching business. Saying no to no longer working for a big corporation as they were not in line with my values so the opportunity could arise to co-create a coaching agency to make a bigger impact in this world. These jumps that feel freaking crazy and scary, are the pivotal moments I want to continue taking as I know and trust that there is where I will learn how to fly. Change is the only constant so we better grow from it, right?
