7 Keys to Activate Your Divine Feminine Power

Divine feminine power is an energy. It is an essence. It is a power within you that is accessed, cultivated, and expressed. From a historical perspective, activating your divine feminine power is about activating the power of your soul, in and through your body. The soul represents the feminine, which is your divinity expressed in form. It is the embodiment of love. Divine love. Love that expresses in, as, and through you.

Yet, for millennia, it has been dangerous to embody our divine feminine power. Women who were sexual, self-possessed, and powerful were demonized and cast out of a society that was threatened by their freedom. Women were not allowed to choose for themselves. They were not allowed to be sexual for their own benefit. They were not allowed to speak their truth.

It wasn’t always this way. Over 5,000 years ago, the most revered deity was a woman: Inanna, the Sumerian Queen of Heaven C Earth. Women sat beside men as equals. Not because they were “like men” or conformed to “male standards of behavior.” Rather, their innate divinity was recognized. The soul of a woman was honored as equal to the soul of a man. Neither ruled over the other.

This shifted (though it took a few thousand years as there was massive resistance to abolishing the goddess) when a new religion was formed that put god only “up above” “in the sky” and outside of earth. Prior to this institution of a warring sky god, the earth was recognized as a goddess. In other words, the earth was revered as holy and sacred. So were women.

When the earth was no longer recognized as sacred, neither were women. That’s because they were intricately tied together. Women represented the earth, in large part because of their capacity to bring forth new life. You can see evidence of this around the world in ancient artifacts from civilizations that existed 3,000 years ago and beyond.

Personally, I was never taught any of this growing up. Though I questioned religious teachings that said women were inferior to men (because a woman’s soul was deemed nonexistent, which gave men authority to rule over her), I didn’t have access to any prior religious or spiritual teachings that taught otherwise.

I made it my mission to prove that I was just as worthy as a man, but the only way I knew how to do so was by proving I could do what men did. I was “just as intelligent.” I was “just as powerful.” I could “achieve” and “succeed” in the ways we were taught were valuable.

Since I have always been an avid learner, I went to law school and became a criminal prosecutor upon graduation.

Instead of skirts, I wore pantsuits. Showing emotion was considered a weakness. I was tough, strict, and unforgiving. It made me quite successful.

My path into feminine power

However, the goddess had other plans for my life. After much questioning about what I was doing and why, I eventually left the legal profession in 2013. The short story is that I was then led on an 8-year initiation into divine feminine power. She asked me to shed all the ways I had been told to live. I gave up every possession I owned. I let go of my law license.

I closed my practice. I left the country. (Certainly, such extreme measures are not necessary for everyone.)

I was asked to trust myself. To trust my intuition. To enter into the realm of my body. My feeling state. My subconscious mind.

I was asked to let go of all I had ever known and venture into the unknown. To allow the great mystery of life to unfold. To let myself be guided by an inner voice I could not see, nor could anyone else validate for me.

I was asked to look at all the ways I had denied myself, hidden parts of myself others didn’t like, feared external judgment, and silenced my truth.

Why? Doing so allowed me to enter the realm of the soul. The soul is the individuated aspect of the divine that is you. It is our divinity. Yet, knowledge of our divinity is not enough. It is not an intellectual concept or idea. Divine feminine power is the embodiment of the actual realization of your divinity in form. It is living, breathing, acting, choosing as the divine you are.

The soul doesn’t know itself through achievements or external success. The soul is not your role in the world.

The soul is not what you do, think, or even how you feel. It is beyond all of that.

The soul is the force within you. The essence of you. The uniqueness of you.

It is accessed through deep levels of self-knowledge (hence, why self-knowledge has been so forbidden, especially to women, who were not allowed to have a Self).

The 7 Keys to Activate your Divine Feminine Power that I outline below are a basic roadmap that I have uncovered while walking my own path and supporting clients around the world.

It is not an exhaustive list; rather, these are primary and essential to cultivating a deep relationship with the truth of who you are. Shall we begin?

1. Develop a new relationship with your Body

The number one key to divine feminine power is your body. Most of us operate from the head up. You're at a computer, you're on a screen, you're thinking, you're doing. As a yoga teacher, I witness how often people move from their head. Rather than listening to what their body wants and feels, they tell it what to do.

When you're in your head and moving the body just because it’s what the head says to do versus receiving what your body wants and receiving your body's cues, receiving your body's signals, then you're missing out on the information that could be available to you.

When you start to connect with the body and place your awareness inside your body, there’s a massive difference.

To form a relationship with your body creates a very new way of being in the world. When you learn how to connect with your body, not as a physical object, but as energy, you start to tap into your soul. You access the wisdom of your body. You hear your inner voice.

Feminine power is receptive because you are receiving the wisdom within you. You are receiving your inner voice, your soul voice. You are receiving the present moment. You are receiving what is happening. You are receiving your feelings, which we'll talk about as one of the next keys.

2. Cultivate deep levels of self-trust

When you connect to your body, do you trust the information you receive? The second key to divine feminine power is trusting the invisible. It is trusting what you feel, not because your feelings are your truth, because they're not. Rather, your feelings are guideposts. Your feelings can guide you to your soul truth.

Your feelings are energy and they are moving through you for a reason. If you simply suppress them and push them down and don't access that wisdom, then you're not able to know yourself. Divine feminine power requires deep levels of self-knowledge.

You have to know yourself, your inner self, your true self, which you access through the body. Then, you have to trust what you receive and act on it. Trust what you receive and journal about it. Question it: “I'm feeling this. Is this feeling my truth? What thought is this feeling rooted in? What belief is this thought rooted in?”

This is the path to sovereignty. It is to examine your thoughts, examine your emotions, examine your energy, examine your soul, and come into that inner alignment and that inner union as you align to your soul’s truth. If you're thinking, “I have no idea how to do this,” don’t worry. That's why I created the online Sacred Body Wisdom Foundational Series. There is a difference between the inner voice of your soul and the inner voice of your ego.

It’s important to learn how to distinguish between the voice of the soul and ego, which becomes easier over time. There’s a distinct difference in the vibration and frequency of your soul voice versus your ego voice. The soul voice comes from within. It is more like a KNOWING, not a passing feeling or thought.

The soul voice is expansive, not contracting (though you might contract in fear when your soul is asking you to do something that you’re afraid of doing!).

Your mind is limited to time and space. Your soul is beyond that. Your soul is infinite. It is not bound by time and space. Therefore, your soul knows what your mind cannot know.

When you start to trust yourself, what you're trusting is this infinite part of you. It's also about trusting what you see. I’m speaking here of your inner vision whether it's a visual you receive or whether you see and sense energy (through the feeling state).

You can see and sense someone’s internal motivation. You can see and sense their ulterior motives. If they're saying one thing, but you feel something else, trust that. That is your

discernment.

Side note: Technically, discernment is a divine masculine power, which is why we cannot cultivate divine feminine power without simultaneously cultivating divine masculine power. The greater your divine masculine, the greater your divine feminine. The greater your divine feminine, the greater your divine masculine. It's really about the union.

Trusting yourself is about trusting your own knowing, your intuition, your sense about someone. You can question yourself, but that’s different than doubting yourself. Trust what you see, sense, and feel inside, and then use that as a tool for greater self-knowledge.

3. Honor your feeling state

The third key, and this relates to the first two keys to activating your divine feminine power, is about honoring the feeling state. Honoring your emotions.

So many of us have been indoctrinated with the idea that feelings are weak and it is inferior to feel. Believe me, I have struggled with this one for a long time. I was an attorney and criminal prosecutor for seven years, and I was also a staunch women's rights advocate for 10 years.

I spoke at rallies. I changed laws and policies. I supported women on hotlines and at the hospital. Yet, I still didn't know what divine feminine power was. I didn't really understand feminine empowerment and feminine embodiment because I was coming at it from the wounded aspect of the conditioning I had received, the programming we all have received, which told me that it was weak to be feminine.

Part of my “empowerment” was to become more masculine so that I could show I was worthy, show I was valuable, show that I was just as intelligent. That meant suppressing and denying the feminine aspects of myself, which feels.

Unfortunately, we've been told in the spiritual world or even in the New Age community that feelings are inferior or weak, or that if you're “spiritual enough,” you shouldn't feel or be bothered by anything or care about the suffering of others. They’re basically teaching apathy as a spiritual path, which is anything but being fully alive and radiant, which is divine feminine power.

The heart feels. When your heart is open, you feel. You can't help but feel. The question is: What do you do with the feelings? To be sovereign is not to let your feelings take over you. You are the one witnessing your feeling, and you are the one in power, not your feeling, not your thought, not your belief, not your programming.

Your feelings are your heart having an experience of life. At the end of the day, if I had to say the divine feminine was one thing, it is life fully lived.

4. Activate your life force energy

When you suppress your feelings, you are also suppressing your life force energy. Your life force energy is your vitality. It is your radiance. It is your ability to be fully here, fully now, fully alive, sensual, sexual, embodied, present with what is.

You are not avoiding anything. You're not denying anything. You can breathe life into everything. That is your life force energy. That is your feminine power. That is your serpent power. The divine feminine has historically been connected with serpent power because serpent power (some call it Kundalini) is the goddess moving in and through you. It is earth life moving in and through you, living you, embodying you.

This is the pleasure of fully experiencing life. Everything is welcome. All of you are welcome. Grief, loss, anger, rage, beauty, gifts, joy. You allow the full spectrum of life to enter you.

We have been told that it's more “spiritual” to direct your awareness up and out of life than in life because we forgot the divine feminine, which is the awareness that we are here now as divine beings. We don't need to go anywhere else to access our divinity, which is the consciousness of divine love.

Divine feminine power is recognizing your life as sacred because you are living as the divine being that you are. The divinity that is in you is what creates a deep, sensual feeling of pleasure in life. I'm not talking about the kind of pleasure that is rooted in ego or egoic gratification. Egoic gratification is not the same as embodied sacred pleasure. They are two radically different things.

5. Connect with your soul’s truth

The feminine is the soul, and the soul is the individuated aspect of the divine that is you. To come into union with your soul, to anchor into your soul truth, is divine feminine power.

You are coming into union with the most sacred, holy part of you and allowing it to express in and through you.

Again, this requires a more receptive state. You're allowing your soul light to shine. You're opening up to your soul’s wisdom. You're allowing your soul to guide you (not what other people say, expect, or demand from you). You're allowing the inner voice to speak to you.

You do this by going into the body, the first key. Because we access the energy of the soul in and through the body, that's why I call myself a Soul Embodiment Guide: I help people to embody their soul, their divine truth, which is the path to reclaiming sovereignty.

Sovereignty requires that you source love, safety, belonging, value, and worth from within. You're operating from this internal state of overflow. You can't do this if you're not connected to your divinity because if you're not connected to your divinity, the ego is in control. When the ego is in control, it's in lack. It's in separation consciousness.

That's why activating your divine feminine power necessitates the divine masculine, which is the consciousness of your divinity infusing your body. This union of body and soul, which is the union of matter and spirit, and the union of the consciousness of the divine with how you live your life, is what dispels separation consciousness.

6. Attune to the frequency of divine love

The divine feminine is love. The frequency of the soul is divine love. Trying to reclaim the divine feminine or divine feminine power without embodying love is, well, impossible. When you're on a journey of the divine feminine, your heart will be purified. Sometimes, at least for me, this is the hardest part of the path.

One of the ways I had to purify my heart was to heal the desire within me to punish people for wrongdoing. I wanted to make them wrong. I wanted to make them bad. I wanted to cast them out of love. I wanted them to hurt the way they hurt others. (I’m not against holding people accountable, but there is a big difference between holding someone accountable and condemning them to a state of suffering.)

During my initiation into divine feminine power, I had to access the wound that created the desire within me to harm or hurt others. It was only by accessing the original pain and deeply-buried emotions that I could fully align to my soul’s truth.

Yes, I can hold people accountable, but the desire to punish was rooted in separation consciousness. It was also rooted in a feeling of powerlessness. I had to purify my heart of those wounds so that I could operate more fully from divine love (not human love) and divine justice (not human justice).

Divine feminine power asks you to attune every aspect of yourself to divine love: Every thought, every belief, every feeling, every emotion, every choice, every action, every word. (This is part of the Sacred Body Wisdom Foundational Series.)

7. Remember your connection to the earth

As we venture into the seventh key to activating your divine feminine power, keep in mind that this path is not linear. Rather, it is an ever-deepening spiral process. We are constantly accessing deeper and deeper layers of our multidimensional nature.

I have been (consciously) on the path of the divine feminine for over 17 years, and I am always accessing deeper layers of embodiment, deeper layers of awareness, deeper layers of my soul, deeper layers of consciousness, deeper layers of power and sovereignty. The deeper we go, the more subtle it becomes, the more finely tuned it is.

Feminine power is remembering your connection to the goddess, your connection to all of life, your connection to the earth, your connection to the elements, your innate connection to All That Is.

You are made of earth. You are one with the earth. You are made of water. You are one with the water. You are made of air. You are one with the air. You are made of fire. You are one with the fire.

You cannot be separate from the elements. You cannot actually be separate from life. Even if you huddle yourself up in the house for years, you're still breathing air. You're still eating food. You're still drinking water. You are still alive. The elements exist within you.

Archaeological remains from over 30,000, 10,000 and 5,000 years ago show us that the ancients saw the goddess as a representation of the earth and of life itself. For millennia, she has been recognized as a conscious, living, breathing entity.

We don't communicate with her in the way that we do as humans. She can appear to us in different forms, but she is a consciousness that lives and breathes and infuses us. The awareness of this and the connection to it is the activation of your life force energy. It is the activation of union, of love, of your capacity to be all of who you are. It is remembering our innate connection to all of life. We cannot be alone. We cannot be separate. We can’t help but belong.

Personally, I struggled with feeling disconnected from spirit, disconnected from source, and abandoned by God. I had felt alone, like I was always alone, doing everything on my own, unsupported. These are wounds of being disconnected from the goddess. These are wounds of being disconnected from god-source. These are wounds of being disconnected from the divine that you are.

Divine feminine power is remembering these connections. Not only on an intellectual level, but shifting your frequency, your thoughts, your beliefs, and your emotions into an embodied knowing of this state of union, love, and empowerment because you are a goddess in form.

How do we know the difference between the soul and the ego when we're talking about our own divinity? One of the ways is divine love. When you recognize the divine within you, when you are truly in your power, you can't help but recognize the divine in everyone and everything else. Anytime you want to dominate another, control another, or deceive another, you're in ego. You are not in your divine god-goddess state. That's one way to determine soul versus ego.

“The work” is sifting out of what is ego and what is a wound versus a soul truth. That's what I help my clients with because sometimes that's the hardest to see yourself. The mind can play games and keep itself in loops to justify almost anything. That's why people can justify rape or mass murder. We can justify war. We can justify violence. We can justify anything.

Divine feminine power isn’t about justification, what is “logical” or “reasonable.” It's about aligning to the divine truth that you are and releasing anything that prevents you from living and expressing as that.

How do I activate these 7 keys of divine feminine power within me?

There are several ways I can support you to activate your divine feminine power. Depending on when you’re reading this, I am leading an Initiation into Divine Feminine Power in Greece from September 27 – October 8, 2025 (but don’t worry, I will be offering future feminine power retreats if you missed this one!).
