Smadar Zmirin

Twin Specialist

Smadar started working with twins as a nanny to 6 months old twins when she was 21 years old. After her first twin job, Smadar knew she had found her calling.

Over the next 15 years, Smadar continued working with twins and studied early childhood education (ECE). She read and studied extensively about twin research studies, twin emotional development, children's brain development and effective and respectful parenting strategies. Smadar has developed her twin-oriented early childhood education approach with hands-on experience working with twins and studying, and she is working with twins from newborn through age 5.

Smadar is an antenatal educator, a certified postpartum doula, and an infant massage instructor.  In her antenatal classes and private services, Smadar helps expecting parents prepare emotionally, logistically and mentally for the arrival of their twins and the first years of raising multiples. She supports new twin parents on their journey to gain confidence and competence in their twin parenthood.

Smadar is a certified baby and toddler sleep consultant. Having to settle numerous sets of twins to sleep on her own, she brings a comprehensive experience in settling twins to her twin-focused sleep consultancy and work with twin families.

Smadar has completed the RIE Foundations course (Resources for Infants Educareres), which enhances the child’s right for respect and advocates for their resourcefulness and competence. She brings the RIE philosophy of childrearing into her practice, as the approach complements her twin-oriented philosophy, which strives to highlight twins' individuation and their capacity to lead independent lives while still enjoying their twinship.

Smadar is collaborating with Multiples New Zealand and Multiples of America, and runs Multiples Antenatal Classes for both organisations.
She also provides online sleep seminars for various ages, postpartum webinars, and toddlers' masterclasses for parents of multiples all around the world.

Smadar was featured on radio shows and podcasts, and is currently writing her first book about raising twins with peace and joy.
