- Lee Moodley, South African Movement Therapist And Mobility Specialist, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Lee Moodley is an established South African Movement Therapist and Mobility Specialist. After university Lee entered Project Management in the Bulk Material Handling Industry, however, the work intensity weighed on his mental health. This led him to a Mixed Movement Arts System, called Budokon, which inspired Lee to switch career paths. Thus, he feels that his work is not a passion of choice but a path that found him. Budokon taught Lee the balance of mindfulness and performance training, a unique framework for mind-body conditioning. However, it is too athletically challenging to become part of mainstream yoga. This led to Lee working in gyms where he thought mindful training would be appreciated. He was a yoga teacher for one of South Africa’s leading gyms, Virgin Active. He quickly became the Regional Yoga Mentor, providing yoga training for teacher assessments and training modules. He also setup Virgin Active’s first hot yoga class in the world. However, he found that mind-body connection was not a priority of gym attendees. This led him to take the leap and start his own boutique movement studio, and the Kinisi Method was born. A major influence to the Kinisi Method is Functional Range Systems (FRS), a system of joint health, and mobility training based on scientific principles and research. It simplifies the principles of joint articulation and control, and nervous system feedback. Lee is currently the highest-certified FRS provider in Africa, and he blends this tool into his tailored mindful movement training. Lee's Certifications BBusSci Finance (Hons) 200hr Yoga Teach Training (Hot 26/Bikram, Vinyasa and Yin) 50hr Yoga Modules (Aerial, Somatics, Nidra) 500hr Budokon Mixed Movement Arts (Yoga, Calisthenics, Mobility, Red Belt) Functional Range Systems - Mobility Specialist, Assessor, Kinstrech, Internal Strength Coach Lee Moodley Executive Contributor South African Movement Therapist And Mobility Specialist Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. - Shahrzad Jalali, PsyD, Psychologist, Author, Founder & Executive Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Dr. Shahrzad Jalali is a clinical psychologist, executive coach, author, and founder of Dr. Jalali & Associates, a trauma-informed psychotherapy practice, and Align Remedy, a platform for integrative healing, coaching, and education. With over a decade of clinical experience, she blends depth psychology, nervous system science, and soulful insight to help individuals access lasting emotional and psychological transformation. Her work is rooted in the understanding that both the body and psyche hold deep wisdom—and that healing begins when we learn to listen. Rather than pathologizing symptoms like anxiety, overwhelm, shutdown, or chronic dysregulation, she teaches clients to approach these experiences as signals from an intelligent system. By decoding internal patterns—such as stress responses, attachment styles, and emotional defenses—Dr. Jalali helps clients understand what their symptoms are trying to communicate. From this place of curiosity and compassion, they learn to regulate from within, re-author their inner narrative, and return to a life that feels aligned and whole. She is the author of The Fire That Makes Us, a book about turning trauma into strength and reclaiming your story with clarity and courage. Her signature course, Regulate to Rise, offers a somatic and psychological framework for healing emotional dysregulation, building nervous system resilience, and fostering grounded self-leadership. Dr. Jalali works with high-performing yet emotionally exhausted individuals who are ready to shift from survival to inner stability and expansion. As a speaker and educator, she teaches on trauma-informed leadership, identity, boundaries, and the wisdom of the body. Kilian started his career as a Coach in the USA where he helped leaders and teams with performance and personal development plans. Economics in Rome and MBA in Paris, he can speak fluently (and coach you in) five languages: French, Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese. In sales and project management for 20 years he started 4 companies and loves adventure travelling. Touring alone the whole South America on a moto bike, hammock and small backpack has been one of his memorable trips. Went close to bankruptcy on some occasions. Kilian provides mental and emotional clean-up for entrepreneurs, team leaders and athletes willing to take leadership, people management and performances to another level. Light handed straight shooter he challenges you, in a 12 sessions coaching program, to define an objective at each meeting helping you design a personal development plan he will hold you accountable for. Kilian is fun to work with, seeking laughter whenever appropriate. On a side note he went close to a leg amputation after a car accident: while in bed, on a wheelchair or crutches for 3 years, coaching knocked at his door.
