My passion for health and wellness comes from a deeply personal place. I’ve been on a health journey my entire life—one that began the moment I was born. Diagnosed at a young age with Psoriasis, an autoimmune condition, I grew up navigating the physical pain, emotional challenges, and social stigma that came with it. By the time I reached kindergarten, the Psoriasis had spread to nearly my entire body. While I was fortunate that it didn’t affect my face, hands, or feet, it was still impossible to hide. I spent my childhood covering up as much as I could, avoiding short sleeves, shorts, or hairstyles that would expose my condition. The constant questions, stares, and even pity from strangers were a daily reminder of how I was different. The physical pain was relentless. My skin would crack, bleed, and stick to my clothes, making even the simplest tasks unbearable. I can still remember peeling off my clothes after playing outside with friends, knowing the pain and bloody mess I’d have to deal with afterward. Nights were no better—I’d cry myself to sleep from the discomfort and frustration. Doctors at the time didn’t have many answers. After countless visits to specialists, I was finally diagnosed with Psoriasis. But the treatments they offered—ointments, UV therapy, and even wrapping my limbs and torso in Saran Wrap and securing it with masking tape to “seal in moisture”—did little to help. Instead, they added new layers of discomfort, like sleepless nights for years on end. The doctors also had me use their tannings beds in the hope it would provide relief, but it only ended up giving me year-round sunburns. For years, I resigned myself to the idea that this was just my life. I learned to manage the pain and hide my condition as best as I could, but the emotional toll was heavy. I avoided dark-colored clothing, dreaded windy or rainy days, and lived in constant fear of being judged for something I couldn’t control. It wasn’t until much later in life that I discovered the connection between my diet, environment, and overall health. I had never thought about how the food I was eating or the products I was using could be affecting my skin. When I finally saw a Naturopathic doctor, everything changed. She diagnosed me with Leaky Gut and a massive Candida overgrowth—conditions I had never even heard of—and created a plan to address the root causes of my symptoms. I gave up gluten, wheat, yeast, dairy, and sugar, and for the first time in my life, I started to feel real relief. Within days, my energy levels improved, my pain diminished, and my mental clarity returned. Over the next few months, my skin began to heal. It wasn’t perfect, but it was progress—something I hadn’t experienced in over 40 years. My turning point came when I discovered the teachings of Dr. Edward Group. His approach to natural healing resonated deeply with me, and within 24 hours of implementing his recommendations, I felt a massive shift in my skin! I had found the root cause of all my health issues and was able to learn how I could truly transform my health. His teachings helped me to learn what was missing from my initial diagnosis and how to truly heal. I knew I had finally found the answer I had been searching for my entire life. Within less than 90 days, I had fully healed my body from Psoriasis. Inspired by my own transformation, I became a Certified Natural Health Coach. I wanted to share what I had learned and help others find the same freedom I had found. For the first time, I could wear dark-colored shirts without fear, sleep on any sheets I wanted, and live my life without constantly thinking about my skin! I have truly found what I was meant to do in this life. I was meant to teach others this way of natural healing and transforming their lives, as well. Today, I work with individuals to identify the physical and mental barriers holding them back from living their best lives. I specialize in creating personalized strategies that bring balance back to the body through diet, supplementation, exercise, meditation, and personal development. My goal is to be a trusted resource and guide for anyone seeking to unlock their body’s natural ability to heal. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me spending time with my family, my dog, and my 12 chickens, or diving into research on health, wellness, and personal growth. I also love music, art, and connecting with nature. If you’ve been searching for answers and feel like traditional approaches haven’t worked for you, then know this: your body is designed to heal. I’m here to guide you, support you, and show you how to unlock the vibrant health you deserve! - Hunter Myers, Founder and Chief Matchmaker at Verdure Design Co., Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Hunter Myers is the founder and chief matchmaker at Verdure Design Co., a branding studio that transforms "swipe left" businesses into "love at first sight" brands. With five years in the trenches helping entrepreneurs find their voice and vibe, Hunter isn't interested in making pretty logos; she's obsessed with creating brands that make customers weak in the knees. Her unconventional background in English and Sociology isn't the typical path to branding, and that's precisely her secret weapon. Where others see marketing challenges, Hunter sees relationship dynamics. Her "brand matchmaking" method has entrepreneurs ditching the corporate-speak and cookie-cutter templates in favor of authentic brand personalities that spark genuine chemistry with their ideal customers. Hunter's clients, predominantly women and LGBTQ+ business owners tired of blending into the beige background of their industries, find themselves not just clarifying their positioning but discovering their power. They stop apologizing for their prices, quit chasing uninterested prospects, and build businesses that attract the right people without the exhausting dance of being everything to everyone. When she's not elbow-deep in strategy sessions or design work, you'll find Hunter serving up unfiltered truths on her YouTube channel, hosting conversations that cut through the noise on her show The Brand Bite Podcast, or enthusiastically explaining to anyone who'll listen why finding your ideal customer is exactly like dating. - Ayiesha Malik, Integrative Doctor, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Dr. Ayiesha Malik is an experienced General Practitioner who splits her time between the NHS and private sector, offering a well-rounded perspective on modern healthcare's strengths and limitations. As a GP, Dr. Malik is highly skilled in addressing a wide range of medical concerns, from routine checkups to diagnosing complex conditions. Her approach to medicine is not only rooted in evidence-based practice but also reflects a keen awareness of the limitations of conventional treatments, especially in managing chronic illnesses. Dr. Malik believes that modern medicine has made significant strides in treating acute infections, particularly with the use of antibiotics, which are highly effective for short-term, targeted interventions. However, she has observed that when it comes to chronic health issues—such as diabetes, hypertension, and autoimmune diseases—the available treatments often fail to address the root causes. Chronic conditions, which frequently require long-term management, are complex and multifaceted, and Dr. Malik has found that many pharmaceutical solutions focus on symptom control rather than addressing the underlying imbalances or lifestyle factors that contribute to these conditions. She has noted that some medications, though helpful in managing symptoms, may inadvertently add to a patient’s overall disease burden, leading to medication dependency or additional side effects that compound over time. Committed to providing holistic care, Dr. Malik advocates for a more integrated approach to chronic disease management. She encourages lifestyle modifications, preventive measures, and, when appropriate, alternative therapies to complement standard medical treatments. By acknowledging both the power and the limits of pharmaceuticals, Dr. Malik emphasizes a patient-centered approach that seeks to improve quality of life without relying solely on medication. Her perspective aligns with a growing body of healthcare professionals who are calling for a shift toward more sustainable, patient-empowered care models that promote overall well-being rather than mere symptom suppression. In her practice, Dr. Malik actively collaborates with her patients to explore therapeutic options that align with their unique needs and health goals. Her work is driven by a commitment to reduce the impact of chronic diseases, helping patients to understand their conditions and take proactive steps toward better health, ultimately aiming to foster resilience and independence in managing long-term health challenges. - Albairis Gomez, Life Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Bridging personal and professional development, Albairis Gomez (aka Alba) is a Psychotherapist, Licensed Social Worker, and a First Generation Entrepreneur Coach whose advocacy for growth has stamped the hearts of budding entrepreneurs worldwide. Challenging others to be more, do more, and achieve more, Albairis’s path encapsulates the essence of alchemy – transforming challenge into opportunity and struggle into success. Today, Albairis’s ambitions are targeted to model the embracement of life with purpose and the gentle reminder that even the smallest step in the right direction is better than taking no step at all. In addition, to ensure first-generation entrepreneurs embrace leadership with authenticity and ultimately feel confident exploring their innate potential as both individuals and thought-leading professionals. Leaning on the principles of respect and integrity, Albairis is a first-generation Latin American woman whose path traces back to the streets of Washington Heights, NY. Growing up with modest means, Albairis learned early on the intrinsic value of hard work, humility, and the notion of never giving up. Part of that stems from her parents' strong advocacy towards education due to not having the opportunity to complete school themselves, and part from having entrepreneurship in her blood as her father ran a successful business before immigrating to the US. Applying that as a trumpet player at the age of 11, Albairis soon became a musical prodigy, honing her critical thinking and collaborative talents by undergoing classical training at the Juilliard School's Gifted Youth Program and master the rhythmic complexity of Latin Jazz at the Boys Harbor Conservatory. Though an industry unique of its own, these early experiences ultimately imbued a unique world perspective, roots that would later set her growth into the sectors of entrepreneurship, coaching, and human psychology. Prior to founding Therapy with Alba G, Albairis pursued her passion for human behavior by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Sociology from SUNY Purchase College, where an elective in social work revealed her natural inclination toward the field. Compelled by the intricacies of societal dynamics, Albairis furthered her education with a Master's in Social Work from NYU. During her academic tenure, Albairis simultaneously worked several different jobs, including roles such as a home health aide and supportive positions within group homes for the disabled as well as for a Unitarian church, all mirroring her commitment to nurturing growth and well-being in various community settings. Furthermore, her professional stint at an outpatient mental health center and years within the hospital system armed her with a robust foundation in social work across diverse demographics. Amid the 2020 pandemic, Albairis embraced a momentous career shift, stepping away from the conventional 9-to-5 grind to establish her part-time private therapy practice – Therapy with Alba G. With a specialty in trauma work, Albairis offers deep-seated guidance, aiding clients to transcend past wounds and counterproductive childhood programming that hinder their present lives. Within a year, Albairis’s commitment culminated in a full-time practice upon achieving an impressive milestone of her first $100K. Since then, Albairis established her dual role as a nascent business coach, focusing on mentoring first-generation entrepreneurs. Under her guidance, Albairis channels her comprehensive approaches in psychotherapy and lived experiences to help others break cyclical mindsets and formulate strategies for success. In addition, does so while empowering them to become the domino that changes the trajectory of their family trees and sets goals in motion. Overall, Albairis is a high-energy advocate motivating the leaders of tomorrow and is best known for dynamic sessions that pendulum healthy mindset shifts both personally and professionally. Furthermore, she is one who understands that intentional growth stems from not allowing ideas to remain just ideas. That said, when Albairis is not keeping a firm pulse on helping others reach their unique versions of success, she enjoys reading, traveling, pursuing her passion for music and dance, and holding her most cherished titles – wife and mother.
