  • King Nerio Sibulo, Holistic Embodiment Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

King Nerio is a ICF Certified, Holistic Embodiment Coach. He is a 3rd Generation Medicine Man utilizing the experiences and wisdom from his forefathers and a holistic and result driven approach to coaching. He helps men embody their most confident self and create a positive self-worth so they can create healthy and meaningful relationships with women, live the life they desire and become a healthy and positive role model for society. King Nerio also hosts meditation and mindfulness workshops to teach people mindfulness practices to deepen their awareness, increase their clarity and live a life grounded in the present moment. King’s journey in the healing world began early, when he was younger, anytime he was ill, one of his grandmother who was a shaman/medicine woman would be called in to perform a healing ceremony. This often includes deep tissue massages, the use of oils, herbs, and prayers. Growing up in the Philippines, traditional medicine was well known and practiced in his family and community, cultivating reverence and inspiring curiosity in his young adult life. In 2017, he went to his first retreat, a 10-day Vipassana Meditation retreat in Youngstown, Alberta, Canada. It was there that he met some interesting people, a real estate entrepreneur turned into a nomad, a PhD graduate who wanted to heal his patients using herbs, and so many other interesting individuals. It was in that event that he experienced first hand the potent power of meditation. Then, in the same year, he went to Sedona, Arizona, USA for 2 weeks and studied indigenous wisdom under the guidance of an elder. He did his first vision quest and experienced powerful transformations that initiated him for the next step in his spiritual journey. During this time, he had a small marketing agency called Profit Inbound which helps businesses get more leads on social media. After his vision quest, something changed that made him stop the business and go within. He gained clarity on his purpose in life, the impact he wants to create and the legacy he wanted to leave behind. This forced him to create drastic changes and initiated him into his healing journey. This Healing Journey took him to many places, inspiring him to go to various workshops like Landmark Worldwide, 10x Growth Con and Power of Success by Tony Robbins to name a few. In 2018, another turning point happened, he met Wim Hof, this initiated his journey into breath work and cold therapy. After practicing it for 5 years, he became confident enough to host and facilitate free events that introduced the power of breath work and cold therapy. His intention was to bring the community together in the spirit of healing and connection. He hosted several events with his friends that sparked a community that now host weekly dips in our local river. In 2023, he was able to bring this experience and wisdom to his hometown of Camarines Sur, a province in the Philippines where he spoke and taught the community and college students the power of meditation, mindfulness, and breath work. Now, he teaches men how to be more confident, self-assured and create a positive self-worth so they can have healthy and meaningful relationships with women, create the life they want and become a positive role model for society. • Amanda Maitland, Registered Psychotherapist , Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine

Hello! My name is Amanda Maitland, RP, currently dedicated to the continuous exploration of individual mental health. I am keenly curious and innately interested in exploring the big questions in life, such as “why are we the way that we are?”, “who am I?”, “why do I feel/react this way?”, and so on. With a career trajectory (finally) aligned with my passions and purpose, I feel truly honoured and trusted to be a part of so many individual healing journeys.   As a Psychotherapist, my approach stems from a humanistic lens, believing each individual (including our realities and general brain development) is a result of our experiences and unique life journey. I perceive myself to be a co-pilot in the healing ‘adventure’, while we collaborate to address life challenges and work together to create positive, healthy changes. I am passionate about bringing authenticity to my sessions, with lightheartedness and humour, while encouraging individual creativity. My goal is to provide my clients with a safe and comfortable space, as I look forward to greeting each individual with openness, non-judgment, empathy and trust.   To provide a brief background, I was born and raised in Toronto, earning my BA in Psychology and Business. Since then, after a whirlwind of service-industry experience, I’ve worked my way up to the operations of a major company, which was my initial goal upon graduating as to gain exposure to how large businesses “work”. Those years have blessed me with a wide range of social experiences and professional relationships, but most of all the burning desire to actually do something worthwhile in this lifetime! My passion for women empowerment was especially ignited throughout these experiences.   I began my career transition to psychotherapy as I worked alongside a brilliant physician/entrepreneur, working on various healthcare consulting projects. My favourite part of this experience was leading a conference series titled “Accelerating Innovations and Investments for Rare Diseases”. Through these interactions with patients and working in the clinical atmosphere, I realized much of the human suffering I saw was psychological (rather than solely physiological), relating to the importance of mental health and wellness. This insight – that the wounds that one cannot see are just as important to remedy – has fueled my drive to follow my “calling” and make meaningful contributions to the field of Psychology.   My personal time is primarily spent on self-education and feeding my curiosity for a wide range of subjects through reading and personal research. I am keenly interested in exploring the new directions being advanced in self-awareness and self-image, specifically those that stem from the research of Dr. Maxwell Maltz on Psycho-Cybernetics. When I am given the gift of free time, I love new adventures, travelling and exploring, any nature related activities, family time, cruising in the mustang, and of course relaxing with my twin kitties, Zeus and Zena.
