  • Exclusive Interview with The Heart Whisperer Jamie Dooley

Jamie Dooley is an international award-winning coach and healer, who teaches manifestation through heart activation. She is the co-creator of The Expansion Method, one of the lead instructors of Expansion Coach Training, and the founder of The Expansion Group. She and her sister Lisa Freitag, have dedicated their lives to building a community of heart-based coaches who will assist them in impacting the growth and expansion of women worldwide. We sat down with Jamie Dooley, founder of The Expansion Group for Women, and co-creator of The Expansion Method and Expansion Coach Training, to find out what the color green has to do with business success. “Jamie, you’ve built your entire business model on expansion. Can you tell us more about it?” I’d love to! For me, the definition of expansion is “growing beyond former limitations or boundaries.” After coaching hundreds of women desiring change and growth, I realized that the main source of their pain was the subconscious resistance to expanding into the next version of themselves, which is a Stone Age program meant to keep us safe and comfortable. In a state of resistance, nothing new can flow in. It’s like having the “no vacancy” sign on the door to your soul. You cannot be in a state of expansion and contraction at the same time. You are either giving or receiving. You are either open or closed. They are at different frequencies, like different channels on a radio. Expansion is supposed to be a natural, easy, fun part of life. All you have to do is allow it, which is very feminine. Most female entrepreneurs have dominant masculine energy; they are addicted to doing much more work than is actually necessary. Oppositely, women dreaming of starting a business usually have dominant feminine energy. They can get lost sitting, thinking, and feeling versus doing. The key to allowing expansion naturally is to balance the masculine/ feminine energies within. We have to explore the opposite of how we are programmed to find our perfect harmony. “How did you learn this?” My sister Lisa Freitag (also a master healer and the other head coach at The Expansion Group) and I have been coaching each other for the past decade. I was a doer; she was a dreamer. We are programmed opposite and noticed the more she moved, and the more I sat still, the greater our ability to grow and embody the next level of ourselves. As our egos took a back seat, we combined our methods and created a private coaching program that got our clients' MASSIVE TRANSFORMATION faster than either of us was getting when we coached solo. Lisa works with the subconscious brain, and I work with the heart. She helps women identify which parts of them are keeping them stuck. Once those parts get integrated back into the whole, I help them open their hearts FULLY, then guide them to meet with their higher self. You have to be a super high vibe to access her. She already knows exactly what you want and what action you need to take to get it. Intuition just gets muddied over the years with the emotional pain caused by being triggered. It causes automatic, subconscious tension in the body, which puts you into a fight, flight, freeze, or fawn mode. By alternating inner and outer work for each call, we found we didn’t need to dig up the past or spend months talking. It became easier for clients to focus on where they were going instead of where they had been. They felt stable enough to let go and move forward. Upon completing the program, when we reviewed where they were when they began our program, they often said, “I forgot about that.” The old them was a skin they shed, and they never looked back. “What kind of results were you seeing?” Clients were saving marriages, finding dream homes, moving across the country, getting promoted (without experience or even applying sometimes), quitting day jobs, starting businesses, and receiving unexpected money in as little as three sessions! These are women who felt completely stuck, confused, minimized, and blocked when they found us. They conquered self-sabotage that had affected them for decades in weeks and moved forward as the conscious creators of their lives they had always been. They just needed a guide. At the core of our program was a heart activation that I did every time I worked with them. I would guide them to a “10” on a scale of 1-10, and if I moved them forward in the guided visualization at a 9 or lower, they would return to old patterns that week. It turned out that just like you cannot be a little pregnant, your heart cannot be a little open. With guidance, they were able to open their hearts FULLY for the first time in decades, or in some cases, since they were young children. They used words like euphoric, blissful, and whole. The changes happened in their bodies, not their minds. “Why do you think this worked?” When we are young, we all experience trauma. It causes our autonomic nervous system to create a protection mechanism of closing the energy center at the heart level. Subconsciously, it will close for the rest of our lives due to any stress response-small or large. That energy center’s vibratory color is green. When I visualize their heart as pure green energy that swells and extends outside of them, it’s like a software upgrade to their entire field. Resistance melts. They cry, let go, and surrender. A new program gets installed, and dreams begin to flow because their field is fully open to receiving. Nothing allows abundance like a heart WIDE OPEN. No doing required! Ideas, opportunities, and people just show up, making the manifestation process seem more like magic than work. It’s the most fun alchemy there is! Why create a method for opening the heart? We tried our best to coach each other through the process similarly, and we started identifying the steps and turning them into a method for our own use. Lisa and I wanted the results we were seeing in our clients! The heart-opening was powerful, but the old programs ran so deep in the subconscious that even when we tried to stay open-hearted during stress, we felt all the tension or resistance flood back into our bodies. To make it easy to remember during a trigger, we created an acronym that helps you coach yourself through the strategies. We kept it simple to help people begin to use it and implement it the very 1st week. Each strategy builds on the last. It gets you in that balanced, harmonious state of flow fast. And now you are going to start training coaches, correct? Yes! It’s been a big dream of ours for a while now to share all we’ve learned. We can have a much bigger impact teaching our framework in a group setting than allowing our students to bring these methods to their own communities. We want to help millions of women embody their higher selves. And since we love the fact that we have a coach for life that we never have to pay (in each other), Expansion Coaches will have a “Sister Coach” community of women trained in this powerful method and style they can barter with for life. “Sounds amazing! Where do they learn more?” If you’d like to learn the method for personal use, start a new coaching business, add to your coach's toolbox, or find your sister coach, click HERE. • 10 Ways to Overcome Your Fears so You can Launch Your Dream Business

Written by: Samantha Touchais, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Speaking from the years of experience I have been working with some truly incredible women, I see something very common across the board. It is a fear of failure and fear of the unknown that holds women back from launching their own businesses. As a Business and Mindset Coach for women at the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey, I am in the privileged position of hearing about many dreams and just as many fears. I understand the fears coming up for these women as a number of years ago, I left a highly lucrative corporate career to start my own business. That business is no longer around, and I have since launched a total of four businesses, with two that are still going strong today. But I want to ask you something. When you imagine your last day on earth, what do you want to look back on and be proud of? Do you want to look back and your vision be clouded by the fear that stopped you from taking that first step towards creating a dream life and profitable business? Or do you want to be proud of the way you handled your fears, the fact that you asked for help, and that you took action as imperfect as action can often be? Fear often comes from a feeling of not being in control. It also is the outcome of a sensation of overwhelm and uncertainty. I see fear getting in the way of dreams on a daily basis. This is why I wanted to share with you 10 ways that you can overcome these fears in order to be your own boss and live a life of financial freedom. 1. Create a plan. Getting clear on what it is you want to create and what you want to achieve is crucial in the realization of your dreams. Dreaming something does not make it happen. Planning out your steps and taking action is what will lead you to success. 2. Create a timeline. The only way to achieve a goal is to make sure it is SMART, that is , specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. While all of these elements are equally important, I believe the most powerful aspect to achieving one’s goals is to put a timeframe to it. 3. Break your goals down into short, medium, and long-term. The best way to achieve a goal is to take action. And the best way to take action is to start with an initial step. Breaking your goals down into sizable and digestible chunks will help manage any feelings of overwhelm, will increase your motivation levels as you see yourself achieving things on a daily basis, and will get you to the endpoint much quicker than if you start with one big hairy goal that looms above you. 4. Take at least one action every day. Focus is needed in order to achieve goals. Momentum is just as important. By focusing on one step each day, you will achieve your goal in a surprisingly short amount of time. 5. Track your progress. How do you know if you are en route to achieve your goal if you don’t track where you are at on a regular basis? This is a very important part of feeling like you are in control—a perfect antidote to fear. Whether you track your progress using a spreadsheet or some other electronic tool or simply use pen and paper, checking in with your goals and your progress ideally every day means you will not lose direction. It is also a great way to keep up motivation as you see that you are continuing to make progress. 6. Realise that obstacles will arise. This is real life we are dealing with! Obstacles and challenges will arise along the way, and if you can accept that from the beginning, your resistance will be lower, which in turn leads to easier problem-solving and less derailment. 7. Visualise the outcome. Along with my business coaching, I am a mindset coach, and visualization is one of the most powerful tools I teach my clients. Professional athletes use visualization, as do some of the world’s most successful business people. It is even linked with medical miracles. Visualize yourself achieving your goal and how amazing it will feel. See it like a movie in your mind and feel the emotions as if it is happening to you right now. But don’t forget to also visualize getting through any challenges and see yourself putting in the hard work that it will take to achieve your goal. This prepares the brain as well as the emotions to take action and get ready to receive success. 8. Remember your why. It is very important to understand why you want to launch your own business in the first place. Being really clear on your purpose in life as well as the purpose for starting your own business is what will pull you through the hard times and keep you moving towards launching and running your own business. 9. Seek out inspiration. Sometimes we feel like we are living in a bubble. Many of my clients tell me that they feel lonely at the beginning stages of running their business and that they believe they are alone in their struggles. Surround yourself with inspirational people as well as people who are a bit further down the track than you are. This is a great way to help you with those feelings of loneliness but also to lift you up and show you that success is possible, yes, even for you! 10. Have an accountability partner. As a business coach, I also play the role of accountability partner with my clients. This means that they share their goals and dreams with me, that we work on the plan together, and that I then hold them lovingly accountable for achieving those goals. If you don’t have a business coach, you can find someone in a Facebook group or ask a colleague, friend, or family member. You need someone who is willing to tell you the truth and not sugarcoat things. So make sure you choose the right person before sharing your dreams and goals with them. Now take action! If you have followed the steps above, you will now be clear on what it is you want to achieve, the kind of business you want to launch, and the time frame for launching it in. You will have visualized the steps you need to take as well as the light at the end of the tunnel and how good life will feel when you achieve this goal and launch your profitable business. I specialize in helping women who feel stuck or overwhelmed at the thought of starting their own business, and together we get a plan in place, actions are taken, and success is achieved at a surprisingly rapid pace. • The Divine Feminine Awakening and its Future Impact on Business

Written by: Claire A tyeo , Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. In this article, I will explain Divine Feminine energy, look at how it is starting to affect business trends, and share my prediction of its global impact in the future. First, a little understanding of the energetic characteristics. The divine feminine and masculine have specific characteristics, in the diagram below, I have listed just a few of them, and it’s important to understand that whatever gender you are, BOTH the feminine and masculine should be embodied equally – it's that embodiment that today we call The Divine Feminine Awakening. It is also helpful to understand that the further we venture from the center of balance, the greater the distortion we experience within the characteristics. Here are some examples: The Current Effects of Divine Feminine Since the recording of human history, we have been living in the energy of the Divine masculine. Slowly, we discover different aspects of our history by deciphering ancient texts such as the Sumerian tablets and the red Sea Scrolls, which indicate this has not always been the case. How and why the Divine masculine lost its equilibrium and became, the dominant energy is still a mystery. But this dominating cycle is steadily coming to a close, with the divine feminine slowly awakening and increasing in momentum exponentially within the last century. Women, especially those who run businesses or are within the corporate world, have had to work harder to get the same recognition as our equal male counterparts. Is it unfair, unjust, and downright sexism? YES, it is, and that’s all about to change with the ever-increasing awakening of the divine feminine. As we energetically pass into a new phase of higher vibrational energy on the planet, so too humanity will start to reunite themselves with their gods and goddesses of the essence. The light frequencies they will emanate once awakening touches them will illuminate the centuries of oppression, manipulation, and imbalance. As the divine feminine warrior enters the workplace, knowing their strengths of love, compassion, justice, and truth, they will start to bring balance to decision-making and political regimes. They will have the strength to challenge systems that not only keep people small but have had the whole of humanity enslaved in a hamster wheel matrix. The divine feminine energy will start to challenge the unfair distribution of wealth globally. It will illuminate centuries of deceit, game plans, hidden agendas, and corruption, which keep the many working for the few. We already see the positive effects her awakening is having, large numbers of people taking stock of their life, examining their motives, and reviewing their emotional fulfillment versus their bank accounts and material gains. Challenging the perceptions and definitions of success, wealth, and abundance. Especially in the last two decades, we have seen a massive increase in fair trade businesses excelling, ethical businesses, soul lead businesses—corporations taking emotional intelligence within their workforce seriously. The Divine feminine is not gendered specific, but the awakening started with women. Those of us (male or female) that have awoken have a responsibility to maintain, reinforce and continue to build the tenuous bridge of balance this awakening is starting to create. My predictions for future business Businesses built from a foundation of greed will crumble, whilst those developed to serve positively and ethically will continue to grow and excel. As the divine feminine starts to flourish, there will be no option but for the divine masculine to take steps towards its center, thus incorporating the divine feminine and creating a natural balance. We will see a disappearance of the perception of scarcity and thus lose the need for greed. This, in turn, will eradicate the need to hustle or compete for business. Businesses will attract clients from a place of best service rather than clever sales pitches. Removing the hustle will also free time for greater creativity and innovation, adding greater value and opportunities for all. As the human consciousness rises, businesses will increasingly become more service/ intellectual based rather than product-based. Thus we will see a decrease in materialism, and in turn, less planetary destruction. In conclusion, the awakening of the divine feminine has nothing to do with a battle of the sexes and everything to do with the survival of humanity and that of our amazing planet. • The Authentic Leadership Conundrum

Written by: Marcus Cecil, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. What do you think about when you hear the expression “authentic leadership?” Well, being yourself as a leader, I suppose. And indeed, it is, at least to some extent. Yet while you must somehow let your true self become an integral part of the world in which you lead, you obviously can’t behave as if you were in a completely safe environment. Being an authentic leader doesn’t mean “wearing your heart on your sleeve.” The challenge with holding back is that people want to connect with the real you, not the façade you may display as a leader. Even while they may not be able to explain it, people will feel something is not right if you aren’t genuine. So how exactly can you be genuine without showing aspects of your personality that may be detrimental to your leadership efforts? Let’s start with defining authentic leadership in more detail, and then I will share 5 tips that have helped me on my own leadership journey. What is authentic leadership? Researchers generally highlight 4 key elements to authentic leadership. First, authentic leaders have a solid ethical foundation, a strong moral code that dictates everything they do. Second, authentic leaders build credibility through honest and transparent relationships. Third, authentic leaders are inclusive and truly value other people’s input, which they try to assess fairly with minimum bias. Fourth, and implicit in these last two points, authentic leaders have high levels of self-awareness. Take a moment to reflect on how you would rate yourself in each of these 4 elements. It might be interesting to think about yourself in two differing scenarios: when you are operating in a reasonably stress-free environment and when stress has a significant impact on you. Do you feel you behave differently as a leader when you are under a lot of pressure? The truth is that it is easier to be an authentic leader when you feel your life is more balanced. Your positivity comes through in all your behaviors . There is little you need to hold back from others. "Being an authentic leader is easier when you aren’t feeling stressed." Feeling balanced all the time is a utopia for most of us. So, to make sure your emotions don’t dictate behaviors that might not lead you to what you want to achieve, a fair degree of self-regulation is key. So let’s see how that can be achieved. 1. Authentic leadership: Have a moral compass. Authentic leaders have a strong moral compass that guides them through life. This makes their behaviors more consistent with who they really are. It also makes them more trustworthy to others. This moral compass is typically established through a set of core values that the person won’t deviate from. When the path ahead is unclear, ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ are defined by these values. Giving sense to the moral compass is a purpose – this is the person’s reason for being, the achievement of which produces fulfillment . I have written elsewhere on the benefits of leading with purpose . Essentially, getting to know your core values and articulating your purpose will allow you to align everything you do. People around you will perceive this moral compass and trust you to lead them towards whatever vision has been set. 2. Authentic leadership: Aim for long-term relationships. Authentic leaders seek deep connections with the people they lead, just as they would in other perhaps more personal spheres of their lives. Rather than interact with others simply to achieve a specific short-term goal, which you could call a ‘transaction ,’ they interact with others to build a long-term relationship. This doesn’t mean that they want to be best friends with everyone, but it does mean they are genuinely themselves within the context they lead. "Show interest in the people you lead, not only in what you need them to do for you." Share openly about yourself, as you would among friends. Inquire about others with genuine interest and curiosity. The more people perceive you as a person rather than a figure of authority, the more they will allow you to get to know them as individuals. Set clear boundaries, of course, but within those boundaries, let yourself be yourself. 3. Authentic leadership: Accept vulnerability. A trait common to many people in leadership positions is the desire to show oneself as an omnipotent-omniprebsent know-it-all. People are afraid that by being themselves, which sometimes implies not having all the answers, they become exposed to potential rejection or ridicule. An authentic leader minimizes the façade and embraces vulnerability. An authentic leader is guided by what the mind values and what the heart feels rather than an overinflated ego. He or she knows that being vulnerable is, in fact, a way of experiencing human connection. If you have trouble taking this leap of faith, perhaps my article on losing the fear of vulnerability might help. 4. Authentic leadership: Walk the talk. There is probably nothing more detrimental to effective leadership than leaders expecting more of others than from themselves. Whatever standards you set, make sure you are the first to meet them. Demonstrate self-excellence and rigor – attributes which others can respect and follow – rather than autocratic power. Do things, don’t simply tell others to do them. Lead from the front! 5. Authentic leadership: Develop emotional intelligence. I firmly believe that anything a leader does can be improved through the development of emotional intelligence. Self-awareness, the first skill set of emotional intelligence, helps you understand why you behave the way you do. Self-regulation, the second skill set, helps you develop behaviors oriented towards your goals and positively impact others. Social awareness and relationship management, the third and fourth skill sets, help you become an inspirational leader and a transformational agent for others. "Emotional intelligence and authentic leadership are intricately connected." Self-awareness is difficult to kick-start on your own, and often asking someone you can trust to give you honest feedback works well. You can also enlist the help of a leadership coach or an executive coach or even consider taking a personality test to highlight traits you may not be aware of. Developing other skills associated with more conscious living tends to be easier thereafter. Authentic leadership: where to start? Authentic leadership isn’t always easy, particularly as it is intrinsically linked to how well the leader feels at any point in time. It’s back to the conundrum of being yourself while managing aspects of your personality that may be detrimental to your leadership. Keep your fears to yourself, but share your inspiration with others.” – Robert Louis Stevenson. I believe I most spontaneously display authentic leadership when interacting with people close to me for whom I am a figure of authority. If you often interact with children, here’s a good analogy. You want to be yourself around children, particularly when you display the most positive aspects of your personality. And yet you realize that sometimes you won’t be at your best, so you want to manage what they will learn from you at these times. This is authentic leadership – it comes from good intention and allows you to be yourself while ensuring a positive message comes across even when you don’t feel that great. So, think about it? • Achieve Your Goals Easily with Keystone Habits

Written by: Mandy Napier, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Charles Duhigg, the author of The Power of Habit, coined the term keystone habits. Keystone habits spark “chain reactions that help other good habits take hold.” They are habits that automatically lead to other positive behaviors. This is great news. It means that, instead of trying to change dozens of habits to achieve your goals, you only need to implement a few keystone habits. That’s because our behaviors are interconnected, so when you change one behavior (through a keystone habit), other behaviors also shift. Let’s simplify this. Let’s say you have a goal to lose 20 pounds. One keystone habit of supporting your goal could be going for a daily 30-minute walk after breakfast. As you do this, you notice that you start to feel more energy, you sleep better, and it inspires you to eat better, too. That one keystone habit can positively influence other behaviors, which in the end help you to attain your goal. A Real-Life Example of the Success of Keystone Habits Charles Duhigg shared a great example of the Olympian, Michael Phelps, and how keystone habits helped give him the edge to become a multi-gold medalist. Already a phenomenal athlete, his coach, Bob Bowman, focused on creating other essential habits that would help him stand out from all the other elite swimmers. Bowman chose to focus on helping Phelps create mental habits, the right mindset that would give him the winning edge. They landed on a particular mental habit that worked through trial and error—visualizing the perfect race. Bowman called this the videotape. He instructed Phelps to watch the videotape every night before he went to sleep and when he woke up. Phelps would imagine himself jumping off the blocks and, in slow motion, swimming flawlessly. “First, he would visualize his strokes, the walls of the pool, his turns, and the finish. Next. he would imagine the wake behind his body. The water dripping off his lips as his mouth cleared the surface. What it would feel like to rip off his cap at the end. Then, he would lie in bed with his eyes shut and watch the entire competition, the smallest details, again and again, until he knew each second by heart.” Once Bowman established a few core routines in Phelps’s life, things really clicked. All other habits, his diet, and practice schedules, the stretching and sleep routines fell into place. Phelps’s keystone habits helped him win the greatest number of Olympic gold medals in history. You Might Already Have Keystone Habits in Place Now, it’s over to you. What keystone habits can you create or perhaps already have in place to help you achieve your goals? How can you build upon them? Just like Michael Phelps, you might have to experiment until you find the ones that you stick to and that are essential to your outcomes. They might even become enjoyable, so much so that you miss them if you don’t do them. If this happens, you are definitely onto a winner! At first, starting a new behavior can feel like a chore, but you must stick with it to achieve your goals. • To Invest or Not to Invest in Crypto?

Written by: Jennifer Gattinger, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. If your TikTok FYP is anything like mine, in the midst of all the whiteyy18 videos, you’ve seen a good number of videos promoting cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin, Cardano, and the like pop up. Despite Bitcoin having started in 2009, cryptocurrencies have really exploded in 2021. Furthermore, upon seeing that Dogecoin has increased by over 7,000% this year alone, you may be asking yourself if investing in cryptocurrency is a good idea. Well, my short answer would be that, like with many financial questions, it depends. Before getting into cryptocurrencies themselves, let’s ask some other important questions. Do you currently have a 6-12 month emergency savings fund? Are you at least contributing up to your company match in your 401K? Are you making contributions to a Roth IRA, or do you have other investments helping you grow your money? If you’ve already got a solid financial base, are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies, and find yourself in a place where you can take more risks, it may be your time. After all, it is an additional way to diversify your portfolio. Not to mention, it’s oftentimes claimed that cryptocurrencies are the next big thing, so if that is indeed the case, you will be part of it. I know people who have done very well in the earlier Bitcoin days, for example, and are now reaping the benefits of traveling the world without a financial worry in sight. On the other hand, if you do not have your finances in order and are hoping to simply strike it big in crypto, you may want to rethink your strategy. Cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile, meaning that just as easily as they can go up in value, they can crash. Just this spring, after reaching an all-time high of around $65,000, Bitcoin fell around 40% in the following month. The truth is, nobody knows whether the values will rise or fall, or even for how long cryptocurrencies will be around. Are they really the next big thing, or will they die out over the next few years? Due to the speculative nature of crypto, investing a significant amount of money and simply betting on great gains is not a recommended strategy to follow, especially for those who find themselves on shaky financial grounds. If you are interested in investing in crypto, CryptoRunner is a great site to visit to learn more! The ultimate question that you should ask yourself before deciding if you want to invest with crypto is this, “Would you be ok with losing all of your investment?” If the possibility of losing your entire investment wouldn’t have much effect on your overall financial situation and wouldn’t stress you out, you have an extra playroom. On the other hand, if the possibility of you losing every penny of your investment could have a great negative impact on your finances and/or cause a great deal of stress, then staying with more traditional investments, such as those listed above, may very well be in your better interest. • Truth Behind Women's Struggle with Wanting Business Growth but Battling the Fear of Being Visible

Written by: Michelle Clarke, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Women's Fear of Being Visible Stems from Being Shut Up, Shut Down, and Shut Out Are you a soul-led entrepreneur who is afraid to be seen? 96% of female business owners I interviewed fear being visible on their personal social media profiles and/or doing live videos. Being visible when you have a soul-led business is paramount to success, so this is a big deal, and it is something I am passionate about helping women to move past. I am Michelle, a soul-led energy maverick, freedom fighting, empowerer of women, an animal-loving, tree-hugging empath, and a woman with a fire in her soul. You could say that I am obsessed with empowering women, and you wouldn’t be wrong, some would call me a feminist, but I resist labels. So, where does all this fear of visibility begin? It begins with women being shut up, shut down, and shut out. Now you might like to tell me at this point that this also happens to men, but let me tell you, not as much as it happens to women. Women are taught to keep their opinions to themselves, to speak kindly, to consider others' feelings, basically not to voice their truth if it affects others. Don’t believe me? Let’s look at a few examples. How many times have you been talked over in a meeting? How many times did your idea get brushed aside only to be picked up when a male around the meeting table suggested exactly the same thing? How many times have you been chastised for being emotional in an attempt to keep you quiet and under control? How many times do you back down when someone raises their voice? How many times are you afraid to say what you really think? How many times did one of your parents apologize to you as a child when you voiced your opinion in public? How many times has someone not heard what you were saying? How many times do you agonize over what you are going to say before you say it? How many times do you go back and rewrite your posts (or articles) to tame them down? How often do you rein in an impassioned speech because you feel you monopolize air space and time? How many times do you wish you had said less? How many times has someone suggested you could approach a situation in a different way? Enough is enough. Men are generally more free to say what they please. I interviewed men, and only 22% said they felt they had to stem what they really wanted to say. Do not misinterpret what I am saying here. It is not a gender issue per se; it is a society issue. We are being raised and treated in different ways. My husband of 20 years agrees wholeheartedly with what I have to say here, and we are committed to raising our daughter in a whole different way. What I see in my coaching paints a clear picture, the men are not as afraid of being visible as the women are. Women have learned to tone themselves down to fit in and be accepted. I heard “no one likes a bossy woman” at least once a day growing up, and isn’t that just so true? When women say what they need or what they want, they are called nag. When a man says what he wants, he is direct. The first step to change this for ourselves, ladies, is to NOTICE what is going on. You don’t even have to take action to get some shifts in your perception. Just notice when you get the feeling of wanting to ‘back off’ from visibility and explore what is going on in your journal. Over the course of the day, your subconscious mind will throw up examples and long-forgotten occurrences that impact how you feel today. Just acknowledging and sitting with those memories is a great first step forward. The real work, of course, comes with diving into those long-held beliefs and social conditioning and then empowering you to find your WORTH so that you WANT to stand up and say something. It is not until we overcome this fear that we will show and be visible and grow our soul-led businesses. You see, you are your business, and other sou-led people want to see the real you before buying from you. They want to connect with you because YOU are your business. You are not some large coca-cola corporation. You are here to change lives and to change lives, and you have to connect. For more on becoming visible, I invite you to a free group where we practice just that, and the group can be found on Facebook — Soul-Led Entrepreneurs Succeeding. Now go and make some NOISE! • Six Key Habits to Increase Your Performance Outcomes

Written by: Eva Medilek, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. When you watch a Nascar race or an Indianapolis 500 race, it’s clear that the drivers of those high-performance vehicles have an intention to win that race. They also are doing everything they can not to crash and burn. It’s amazing how they can navigate the twists and turns of the track while traveling at such high speeds. Every time I have seen a race, the lead car would stop for a pit stop, which would seem to me at a random moment in the race. Why would they stop when clearly, nothing is wrong with the car? I remember thinking that they would lose their lead, and the other cars would surely pass them by and take over and win the race if they stopped while they were ahead. Aren’t they jeopardizing their chances of winning when they stop? Has anyone else had that thought, or is it just me? But in that pit-stop, a team rushes to work on that vehicle, in precision timing, so that the driver can continue to race that car at peak performance without the fear and worry of breaking down. Now, I don’t know much about race cars, but I’m sure that whatever that team does for that car also reduces its chance of crashing and burning along the way, in conjunction with the driver's skill. Now, if only we would do that for ourselves when it comes to our professional and personal lives. If we were to structure our lives and businesses to operate at peak or high-performance, without causing a breakdown in our health, well-being, or relationships, imagine how successful we would be. We would have a better performance outcome. But we, as human beings, tend to wait until we run out of gas or have a flat tire in life before we call in the team to support us. We are more reactive than we are proactive, and as a result, we are not operating at high performance and bringing our A-game to every area of our lives. Our performance is suffering because we are just trying not to crash (survive) instead of operating to win the race victoriously (thrive). We are not employing a pit crew to keep us performing at optimum physical, mental, and emotional energy to create wins in our life. We are in the race with a vehicle that could break down at any moment. And, when it does, we have a greater chance of crashing and burning. Here are 6 things that you can do to operate like a high-performer in your life. 1. Create a Morning Routine – a morning routine wipes out 20% of stress and brings positivity and preparedness for the day. 2. Strategic Resets every 50 minutes – when you reset, everything shifts. A powerplant doesn’t have energy, it generates energy. Stand up, move, drink water, breathe, close your eyes for 5-10 minutes. However, you choose to reset, make it a habit to do it several times in the day. 3. Eat to Fuel and Recover – have a diet built for the performance needed during the day. Most of us eat to satisfy hunger, and when we wait to get hungry, we tend to make bad choices. Look at your eating and nutrition as fuel for your performance. 4. Work out at least 5x per week – the world’s highest performers work out regularly. You need to move to generate energy. 5. Brain Supplementation – your experience and life come from your brain. How you treat other people comes from your brain. When you don’t rest your brain, nourish your brain and take care of the thoughts that enter your brain, you hurt your performance. 6. Sleep Routine – 7-8 hours per night to optimize your performance. To get the most rest and recovery from your sleep; No food 3 hours before bed No work 2 hours before bed No screens 1 hour before bed When you feel better about yourself, you take better actions for yourself and from your better self, and you operate at higher levels of performance. You don’t want to be in the race at the expense of your life. Follow me on Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , YouTube and visit my Website for more info! Read more from Eva ! • Get out of Your Comfort Zone? Think Again!

Written by: Madeleine Shaw, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Quick! You’re in a team workshop, and you have three minutes to write a song about an issue currently facing your team. I’m going to call on you in random order, draw a musical style — country, opera, etc. — out of a hat, and have you perform your song — solo — in that style for the rest of the group. How effective are you feeling, knowing you’re about to have to sing for everyone on short notice? How able are you to take on new ideas? To think creatively? To reflect broadly and engage effectively with others? To manage your own physiology to set yourself up for peak performance and flow? Unless you’re a talented singer, my guess is: not very capable at all right now. We are often told that getting out of our comfort zones is a good thing – but there is a limit. And beyond that limit is the panic zone – not good! When you panic, your body goes into fight or flight mode. It focuses its resources on getting to safety. When you are running for safety, stopping to think creatively about your life path is not optimal. Your brain knows this and will shut down all distractions until you are safe. This is great when you are running from a bear but not so helpful when you are trying to respond to a difficult question in a meeting. Needless to say, when you are running for safety, you are not in a learning zone. We might learn from these panic situations later - when we have calmed down and can think straight again. But seeking out panic as a way to learn is not the way to go for most of us. Instead, aim for the learning zone – whether for yourself or those you lead. Your learning zone is just outside your comfort zone. By stretching into new experiences, challenges, and situations just enough to feel adrenalized but not enough to panic, you are in the optimal zone for growth. You can feel a bit scared in the learning zone, but not enough that your higher-order thinking skills shut down. You can still be confident. Think nerves before giving a speech – nerves help when they help you switch on and perform, but not when they send your mind blank. Think of a rubber band stretching outside the comfort zone, but not so far that it snaps. So should you kiss goodbye to your comfort zone? Of course, you like your comfort zone. It’s comfortable! In my work, I sometimes hear clients say they want to get rid of their love of their comfort zone. That is actually counterproductive for three reasons: It makes you wrong for liking comfort, when in fact, it’s a perfectly normal, healthy, and functional preference. It implies you need to be uncomfortable to be doing anything worthwhile. You miss out on the recovery and consolidation that only happens when you’re feeling safe – that is, inside your comfort zone. Embracing comfort can be countercultural. We tend to applaud those who take massive risks to achieve great rewards – but those headlines miss the essential quiet times of recovery and consolidation. Make sure you are allowing those times for yourself, your team, and your organization. Your comfort zone is bigger now than when you were four years old. Expand your comfort zone by stretching into the learning zone, where new experiences are available, and you can integrate them into your repertoire effectively and easily when you return to “safety.” Just don’t feel like the only “right” way to grow is to force yourself into terrifying new situations. Like so many of these questions, the answer is to step outside the binary (fear or safety) and find the nuance in between. Want to learn more from Madeleine? • A Change in Perception of Life and Business — An Interview with Ki Gong Champion Peter Paul Parker

Peter Paul Parker is an expert in the mind-body connection, a sound healer, and working with both the energy body and the physical body. Peter is a Ki Gong champion, having entered a competition with the British Team in Korea in 2016, winning the International competition. Peter has run a successful coaching business for many years and has particularly done some amazing work with the elderly. He has set up a charity called Brighter Living to help the elderly with their health and well-being using Ki Gong and meditation. Peter has also worked with schools in his local area, helping people connect with themselves, from grandchild to grandparents. Peter has launched the Bright Beings Academy, which is his online business, which incorporates everything that he does to empower people to reach their full potential as human beings. Peter's motto is 'If you don't own your future self, somebody else will!' You seem to be doing a few different activities for self-development. I must ask this first, what is Ki Gong? Ki Gong is an ancient eastern energy practice that combines the mind, the body, and the breath altogether. Around the time of the great Greek philosophers, the mind was looked upon as different from your five senses. Before that, all through the ancient cultures, the mind was looked upon as the sixth sense. This is true. Ki Gong is bringing the mind into the body. If you think about it, the mind is a time traveler. While the body is routed in the present, the mind can go to the past, the future, and the present. The mind and body have a natural yearning to be together. In our busy western lifestyles, our mind becomes overstimulated and tends to fly all over the place. The ancient Tibetan monks called this the monkey mind. Ki Gong is all about bringing the mind into the present. The form I teach is the Korean style, developed by Ilchi Lee so that it is easier for the western mind to incorporate into our busy lives. ‘Ki’ means energy in Korean, and ‘Gong’ is a difficult word to translate, but basically, it means utilizing well or mastering. That means you start to use your energy properly. It sounds simple, but try sitting there quietly and focus on your breath for two minutes. All sorts of thoughts will crop up, and not all necessarily good ones. Ki Gong is like training for both the body and the mind, whereas meditation is training just for the mind. The practice I (coach on) USE incorporates all of these teachings and practices. I see from your biography that you have been through many changes in your life. Would you like to let us know how your journey began? I was born Peter Parker and decided to include my middle name, Paul, to distinguish me from Spiderman, especially important when using social media! I am the second youngest of 6 brothers. In Star Trek terms, I would be 5 of 6. My childhood was idyllic. I wanted for nothing. We had family and friends continually in the garden, which had a swimming pool and so many children’s toys. The garden looked like a child’s dream. The garden was always busy in the summers, especially when my cousins visited Southampton, whose family consisted of 9 boys and one girl. I remember those times fondly but did question everything when I was very young. I once asked my mother, why are human beings so mean to each other? She never really gave me a satisfactory answer, but I knew it was not human nature to be so mean to each other at that point. I was quite ill, though, when I was very young. I had been a blue baby and suffered from a terrible cough. My chickenpox was really bad, and I remember being off school for quite a while, which suited me. It meant I could spend more time at home. This all came to a crashing halt at age 10. My father had a car accident, and he became disabled all down his left side. This put an enormous burden on my mother, who developed gallstones, and she went on to have an operation. The operation did not remove all the gallstones, and the gallstones left in her went cancerous. My mother died when I was eleven. I was sent off to boarding school as my father could not cope. My mother used to love my Beetles mop-top haircut, and so did I. When I was sent to boarding school, they cut all my hair off, and I felt completely abandoned, alone, and in a very hostile place. There were pedophiles active in the school, and the boys were bullied terribly. I wrote letters to my father telling him how bad the school was, and now I realize that not all of them were sent to him. This was my very first experience of deception and censorship, and I knew deep down inside of me that this was wrong. This all came out after I had left the school, and my father could not apologize enough to me for what I had gone through. I did my best to please my father after that. I studied hard and managed to pass quite a few exams in my secondary school. After I left school, my father died. I was nineteen and thrown out into the world in a daze. One of my elder brothers knew the Director of a local printing firm and found me a job. I did not know what I wanted to do. I was in a haze. I was stressed, anxious, and traumatized. I knew that I did not really want to be a printer. I really loved music. My elder brothers had dabbled in music, and I found it gave me great peace. This gave me focus, and I started to take my music more seriously. I was BADLY let down by the first lead singer of the band I was in (terribly). He acted deceptively again, and this broke my heart. I had now lost my parents and best friend over the course of a few years and was feeling a little desperate. I went to Bass college to learn the bass guitar and started to build contacts there. I was gregarious and made people feel good about themselves. This was because I was actually my true self. I did not realize that at the time. I started doing live and recorded sessions and also learned the art of sound engineering. (Music was like a massive meditation for me, especially the live performances.) I was blessed enough to play with some top musicians and even made an entry into the Who’s who of British popular music for my endeavors. Those live performances with great musicians on stage who could improvise on the music we were playing, became a huge meditation experience for me. Watching the moment move to the next moment, with the wonderful uncertainty of not knowing what would happen next, was exhilarating and stress relieving. I was in my element. Unfortunately, the live music scene started to fade, and so did my career. The drinking started, and so did my downfall. I wrote an album called Anahata Earth Echoes, which I managed to find a deal with in New World Music. Unfortunately, on the day of the release, there were free downloads available on certain websites. I knew music was over for me then, and again my heart was broken. All the trauma, stress, and depression from the past came flooding back. What was I going to do next? I had no idea. I had two outer body experiences during my music career period, which made me realize that the mind and the observer are two different elements of our makeup. This fascinated me, and I wanted to know more. Luckily my partner was also interested in finding out more, so I intended to see what I could DISCOVER about the nature of our reality. Many years ago, I remembered speaking with a psychic who said I would find out about our reality's secrets, both good and bad. I did not take her seriously at the time. I do now! Wow! Peter, that is quite a story. So how did you get involved in coaching meditation, mindfulness, Ki Gong, and sound healing? We were at a Mind Body Spirit show in London, and my wife wanted to get a Kirlian photograph taken. We both had our pictures taken, and the results were remarkably different. Her photograph was filled with these beautiful golden and red colors, and mine was full of moody blues and purples. One of the people on the stall said that mine was very esoteric and my wife’s picture was very grounded. My wife wanted to see if the readings were correct as she wanted a more esoteric reading. We walked round to a Dahn Yoga stall, where they were doing the same energy photographs, just using the energy of the hands this time. The reading was the same. While she was having her photograph taken, I started talking to one of the Masters at the front of the stall. I spoke openly about my concerns with the world and the direction it was heading in. I said I was angry and was starting to lose my musical career also. She listened closely, never in judgment or showing any alarm to anything I was saying. She said that I would benefit enormously FROM the training they offer. So, we signed up, and it all started for me then. I began the journey of connecting more deeply with my body, and the stress and anxiety started to melt away, almost straight away. How did you get into teaching? After a couple of years of training, I became good at the techniques I was learning and started to teach the newer members of the center who were coming in. An opportunity came up to run a class in an elderly community center nearby. My mentor asked me to take that class. I had no contact with elderly people at that time, as my parents had died young and had lost contact with my elderly relatives. With all these thoughts rushing through my head, I said I would do it. So, my first class was looming, and I practiced the class I was going to teach. It was a small class of 5 people. I went through my class at quite a pace but with a joyful heart and the best intentions for the attendees. The class went really well. After about a year, the class went from a humble beginning to being packed out, week after week. At this point, I could see that these older people were the same as me, but just USING an older vehicle (they were using). They could still connect with their own energy and even change to have a better perspective on life. At this point, I realized that this training was so powerful, I wanted to teach it as a profession. I had turned around a few people’s health and wellbeing while being there. One lady could not open jars anymore because of her arthritis. After training with me for a while, she reported gaining enough strength to open jars again. She also had cancer, and her outlook became more positive and focused through the training. Another lady whose balance was not so great started to fall over less frequently. A man who had suffered from polio was starting to be able to move his shoulder more freely again. Another lady who had a stroke and was disabled down her left side began to move her ankles and wrists again. I was witnessing minor miracles and wanted to grow more with this. I started reaching out to local schools and businesses, where I was getting great results also. It was amazing. I see that you are a Ki Gong champion. How did that happen? In 2016, I was part of the British team that went to Korea for the Kookhak Ki Gong international competition. We won the international competition. This was life-changing for me. I was used to the big stage and all the glamour from my music career. That was fun and lively. What was important was one of the meditation days we enjoyed while there. We went into a cave where we were asked to focus on childhood traumas. I thought I had dealt with all my traumas from the past, but I still gave this meditation 100 %. I felt as if I had walked into a time capsule, going through experiences that had caused me trauma and just being the observer, not feeling the pain. I felt my healing had been finished with those incidents. Then came something I had not dealt with. When my father died, I was in a haze. I remember that his estate was split up, and the three youngest boys received nothing from it. The two eldest boys received houses and money to set themselves up in careers. I had not really seen this before and had carried on accepting this as normal. I looked hard at myself and forgave my brothers for what they had done. I realized that holding onto that anger was only hurting me. I walked out of the cave, and my mentor looked at me and asked what happened. I told her the story, and she said that my face looked much younger as I had released all the stress and released anger as stagnant energy from the liver. (It was there in the form of anger.) Now I know that this ancient knowledge has so many truths, and I experienced it first-hand. That threw me deeper into the field with a thirst for knowledge. You are a meditation coach and Ki Gong instructor. How does sound healing fit into this? When you realize from the science of cymatics that everything is made up of vibration, you begin to unfold the secrets of our existence. Nicola Tesla said if you want to unlock the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration. I had looked at all three of these in my training with Ki Gong as we had used sound to vibrate the body, but I wanted to go deeper. I went on one of Jonathan Goldman’s courses for sound toning. Here I gained a better knowledge of the chakra system, which is our energy body. I could actually vibrate my chakras using my voice using a certain tone. This fascinated me, and I went on to buy tuning forks to heal the chakra system. I started taking on clients and witnessing amazing results. I had not given energy healing much attention at first. It is when it starts to work and you realize there really is something to this. I would clean up people’s energy body using the forks, and they would say that they had never felt so connected and clean. If you do some research on cymatics and waveforms, you will see that the lower the waveform, the longer the peaks and the troughs, and the higher the waveform, the shorter the peaks and troughs. Our chakra system rises in waveforms, where the root is a low frequency, and the crown is a high frequency. Sir Isaac Newton invented the color indigo to work with the modern chakra colors today as the third eye chakra. Red is the root and is dense in frequency, and violet is the crown chakra, a high-frequency color. Some of the greatest minds of our time have been into the energy system and how it works, and it is only now slowly being accepted by more people (now). When you build up empirical evidence of your own physical, energetic and spiritual bodywork, it puts a whole different perspective on life. You see that every energetic part of our body receives, assimilates, stores, and expresses our energy. If a certain area of the body is energetically under-active, certain traits will be seen. This is also the same if AN energy center is over-active. For instance, if we look at our second chakra, we would say you have deficient energy in that chakra if you are unemotional, self-denying, rigid, or inflexible. If that chakra is excessive, you would show the over emotional traits, have poor boundaries and be overindulgent. I realize now that everything is in balance when working properly, and when you learn to balance your energy system, your physical life really starts to improve immediately. It really is an incredible existence we have as human beings, and it seems that most people are missing this in their day-to-day life. We have come here to shine, and when we do, we find that priceless gift that is inside all of us. You mentioned spirituality. What does that actually mean in your interpretation? When you break the word down, spiritus means breath in Latin. So, to be spiritual is actually connecting with your breath. We are here in the material world to have a material experience. Through my outer body experiences, I see that we can shed all the pain of the material world. It is just energy accumulating around the body that we do not deal with. We have become prisoners to our thoughts and mind. If you think of a Gazelle being chased by a lion in the jungle. For those moments, the Gazelle is petrified. After the danger has passed, the Gazelle goes back to its normal peaceful existence. We as human beings seem to get stuck in the drama, and it seems difficult to break free from it. You can. But you have to work at it. It can be really hard, and you can encounter what some people call the dark night of the soul. You start to see yourself and where you are. In our western world today, many people seem to dread their own company. Learning to love your own company is an enormous step in the right direction. Having that much connection with yourself means you can connect much more deeply with the people around you. That is what a spiritual journey is for me. It is you connecting with yourself. For example, I might say my sense of humor is most active when I am alone because I make myself laugh so much by observing some of the odd things that I do. What is important to bear in mind here is also the difference in brain capacity. If you look at the evolution of biology and how organisms become more complex, it is actually fascinating. Our brains are receivers and transmitters of information. The biggest difference between the Gazelle and us is that we have a bigger spectrum to receive information because of our brains' size and surface area. The Gazelle does not have that capability. That is not to say that we are more important than the Gazelle because everything has its place and purpose. It simply means we can create infinite possibilities, and the Gazelle is limited in its existence. That is the exciting part of all of this. I see that we have had the age of greed, where the lower chakra system has run rampant across our cultures and civilizations, and now there is a turning point. Human beings are starting to wake up to their full potential and move the world in the right direction. The green shoots are starting to appear as I see more and more people becoming entrepreneurs and working for themselves. I see more people who want to move from their jobs to something that helps and serves other people, as well as helping themselves. In my practice, we call this Hong Ik, which means what is good for me is good for you too. Even though it does not look like this to many people at this point in time, this is where we are going. I say bring on the change. It is the ones who adapt to the changes who are going to thrive, and the ones holding onto these failing systems are going to fall. It is the way of nature, and we will see this first hand as time passes by. If someone wants to know more about what you do, how can they get hold of you? I have created a webinar that shows you the five types of meditation I teach. Meditation used to mean to think deeply about something and was the closest word to describe the eastern practice. But it means far more than that. I have a coaching program that goes through different levels to realize if your chakra system is receiving, assimilating, storing, or expressing too much. This will come up with any problems you have in your life and help you see whether you are using force to achieve what you want or using energy or power. Also, whether your energy is working through you properly, and if you are actually connected to your energy, then your life has amazing synchronicity about it. These are all steps we take on what we call a spiritual journey. I would say it is a journey that will see you becoming the best version of yourself. No one has the same thoughts, feelings, emotions, and biological makeup, so you should make it your mission to become your best version. Once you go on that journey and really connect with your energy, you have infinite potential. Life will be a feast of discovery, and those ‘aha’ moments will become more and more frequent. Who wouldn’t want that? You can check out the webinar at this link. Want to learn more from Peter? Follow him on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and visit his website.

  • Shining the Light on Business Success — Awards are an Effective Tool

Written by: Annette Densham, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Standing in the spotlight doesn’t come easily to most people in business. Many are content to plod away in the background, doing what they do well and not expecting accolades or recognition. It’s just part of the business day-to-day. Self-promotion is often not encouraged. Just look at all the Facebook groups that tell you self-promotion is spammy and not welcome. After all, you’re just showing off if you brag about your achievements. Besides, if you do pop your head up, you risk being trolled by some nasty person envious of your accomplishments. In this age of entrepreneurship, especially the bootstrap kind, self-promotion is often the only cost-effective tool available to shine the light on your achievements. Who else is going to let the world know about what you do? The key to doing this without being a jerk or a show-off is to enter awards. Nothing screams credibility more than being nominated, making the finals, or winning a well-respected award. We live in a world dominated by perceptions; what other people think of us even before opening our mouths. You can control that narrative by being in control of what you are putting out into the world. People make decisions based on emotion. They want to know, like, and trust the person they are doing business with. To do that, you need to own your space and be prepared to put yourself out there. After all, who wants to be the best-kept secret? Entering an award doesn’t have to be a big, scary decision. It is just a decision, and it can have ongoing benefits to you and your business. Credibility Awards can make such a difference in the way people approach you and open doors. The power of global recognition can be like nectar to an audience looking for someone reputable and respected to work with. Recommendations and word of mouth go a long way in the customer decision-making process. Adam Nobel from Hugo Alexander Property Group entered awards for the first time this year. “It’s nice for our team to get recognition and a pat on the back for all the great work they are doing in solving problems for our clients”, he said. “Awards attract high achievers wanting to work with high achievers – award will help us recruit people who want to work for a company that does things differently. We want staff we want to change the game, and awards will help us attract them and clients who expect high performance.” Showcase your work Pip Meecham from ProjectBox said winning awards helped raise awareness of the work being done within the business ecosystem and systems in general. “It’s an incredible feeling to be introduced as an ‘award-winning’ business or speaker,” she said. “We’re incredibly honored to be able to include that information as part of our brand profile. Extra attention Entering awards is so much more than the trophy or certificate you get for winning. Of course, winning is the ultimate outcome, but what about the serendipities, the little things you don’t count on or expect? Like media attention and a big fat boost to your confidence? Sonia Gibson, from Accounting Heart, wondered about the value of awards until she was nominated, entered, and won. “Since winning the award, I have gained new clients, have been asked to speak at industry events, and have been approached for comment by various business publications. It has allowed me to get in front of more people to accelerate the growth of my business,” she said. A boost of confidence Feedback from judges can ignite a greater inner conviction, confidence, and strength. It reinforces the work as valued. Realizing you’ve made a difference in the world helps people step out into the world, believing in what they are doing. Tracy Tully, the founder of Innov8 Awards, believes awards help people realize the impact they’ve had in their space. “You feel proud and accomplished. This releases the feel-good chemical dopamine. Never underestimate the power of reflection, as a business tool and as a way to feel good about what you do,” she said. Get clear Clarity from the process is priceless. It helps you get clear on what you can offer and what the offer is. The award writing process helps to verbalize what you do; to break it down so other people understand it. Pip said the awards ProjectBox has won have opened up further speaking opportunities and blog posts. “But the biggest thing we’ve gotten out of it (and probably the least expected) was the entry reflection process as it inspired us to look further into our own business and make some changes in line with our future goals,” she said. • 8 Points Every Spiritual Business Owner Should Consider

Written by: Veronica Sanchez De Darivas, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Before starting, I have to say that I am not a business expert . I am a Spiritual Awakening Teacher and an author, and what I do may seem unrelated to business. However, this is not the case as everything is part of the whole. A few days ago, I attended a 4-day Business Retreat in Cumbria, Lakes District, UK. Ten other women attended, including two main organisers, one expert in sales and the other one in mindset. During the retreat, I met amazing women who are making a huge impact globally, and together, we helped each other pinpoint what was needed for us to go to the next level in our businesses. A powerful combination took place where the sales and mindset trainings provided met the force of teamwork. There are always misconceptions regarding people that work with matters of the soul. For example, we should work for free or charge very little for our services. However, one of the biggest misinterpretations comes from every people that define themselves as well-being or spiritual teachers of some sort — and this is that we do not have a business. We simply help others and receive money sometimes. This notion makes us bypass the importance of having systems in place in all areas, including finances. Those four days made me realized a few things that I want to share with you. I have always invested money in my education to become a teacher, then why should I not do the same when teaching others? Those who have taught me are spiritual teachers themselves and have a team of people working for them. They have costs to cover, and so do I. Everyone lives somewhere. They have to pay rent, mortgage, bills, groceries, and more. I have to do the same. My time is as valuable as is everyone else’s time. Sometimes I can give away for free but not always. The universe is ready to give and to receive., I have to comply with universal laws like the law of reciprocity. Any work needs a structure in place to function well, for example, when I teach the Cyclopea Method or meditation, there is a system to follow for getting the best results. This structure includes money coming in and out. Planning and accountability are a must to deliver outstanding experiences for our clients. What I offer is not a transaction; it is a transformation. However, this transformation happens within a framework that includes several elements, making the experience of the person participating a very enlightening and rewarding one. The Business Retreat was a first of this type for me and let me tell you, that was a very insightful one. Not only I learned more about sales, marketing, and money mindset, I also learned a lot about myself and my fellow participants. I reconfirmed that we all have ups and downs, and I experienced the power of being part of a group willing to help and collaborate. With this article, I want to honor these women, they know who they are, they are changing the world one step at a time in their own unique and powerful way.
