Brainz Magazine Exclusive Interview

Annabella Nassetti has built a life—and a business—at the intersection of design, transformation, and purpose. Recognized globally as an Interior Architect, Product Designer, RTT Therapist, Self-Leadership Coach, and Author, she’s a rare figure whose accolades span creative innovation and personal empowerment. With clients ranging from Formula 1 pioneers to global thought leaders, her work doesn’t just craft luxury spaces—it aligns environments with the deeper essence of those who inhabit them.

Her journey into this hybrid profession began long before it had a name. Trained in design and fuelled by a relentless curiosity about the mind-body connection, Annabella’s evolution was catalyzed by a near-death experience. It awakened a 25-year healing journey that eventually led her to become a Rapid Transformational Therapist and a self-leadership coach—two paths that she now seamlessly integrates into her design practice.

Can you tell us about your work and how you ended up where you are today?

I describe myself today as a Home and Lifestyle Designer—a title that reflects the fusion of my professional expertise and deeper life purpose. By training and passion, I am a product designer and interior architect. For over two decades, I led an award-winning design and build company serving elite clients, crafting timeless, high-end environments that reflect beauty, function, and individuality.

My path took a profound turn following a near-death experience, which sparked a twenty-five-year holistic healing journey and, more recently, awakened a deeper calling. This experience led me to become an RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapist) and a self-leadership coach, guiding others to break through emotional and mental blocks to lead more empowered lives.

Today, I bring together both worlds—design and transformation—believing that our outer environment is a reflection of our inner world. My connection with clients goes far beyond aesthetics or the typical designer-client relationship. I intuitively understand how they feel, often before they can express it, and this profound insight allows me to deliver results that exceed expectations. In essence, my work is about alignment between space, self, and purpose.

Your website emphasizes a holistic approach to design. Can you explain what that means in practice and how it sets you apart?

For me, design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces that feel right on a deep, emotional level. I ask thoughtful questions to understand who my clients truly are: how they live, what they’ve experienced, and where they want to go.

I also integrate my Holistic Wheel of Life, a framework that begins with thoughts and how they influence emotions, behaviours, which ultimately lead to purpose, happiness and fulfilment. Our five senses are a vital bridge between our internal world and our physical space, which is why I use natural materials, textures, and sensory elements to promote wellbeing.

I listen not only to my client's words, but to their energy and lifestyle patterns. The result is a space that supports their wellbeing, inspires confidence, and aligns with who they are becoming.

This fusion of sensory design and emotional intelligence becomes especially apparent when trust is part of the creative process. “When clients are open and trusting, the results can far exceed expectations,” Annabella reflects. It’s in these moments that design becomes not just functional or beautiful, but personal.

Can you share an example of a project where a client’s input significantly shaped the design in a way you hadn’t expected?

A recent project with a returning client—a family of five—stood out. They asked me to create the best design I’d ever made for their evolving lifestyle. Their input wasn’t specific in style, but rather in trust—they gave me full freedom, which shaped the process profoundly.

This allowed me to craft a home that engages all five senses. They can feel the quality through textured fabrics and rich finishes; smell the natural essences subtly embedded in the furniture; see the flow of curved forms and harmonious materials; hear the smooth, precise sounds of well-engineered furniture; and finally, experience the space like a beautifully prepared cocktail of your favourite wishes — complete and satisfying.

For me, design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces that feel right on a deep, emotional level.

What do you think makes a home truly timeless in terms of design?

A timeless home begins with the right proportions—using space intelligently and with purpose and function. It’s not about trends or filling rooms, but about giving each area meaning and clarity. I design for natural flow, ergonomic ease, and emotional resonance.

As a product designer, I start from the smallest details, building interiors that feel purposeful and personal. The ‘canvas’ is crafted using neutral, natural materials that engage the senses and promote wellbeing. I then encourage clients to personalise their space with art and meaningful objects that tell their story. It’s their home, and my role is to create a refined backdrop that enhances their life, not dictates it.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a home renovation or new build, what would it be?

Give it the time, thought, and dedication it truly deserves. A home project is one of life’s biggest investments—financially and emotionally—so it should be treated with full respect. The more openly and thoughtfully you engage with your designer, the more meaningful and successful the outcome will be.

Practically speaking, I also recommend choosing someone who offers both design and build services under one roof. It streamlines communication, maintains creative continuity, and reduces the risk of costly mistakes or delays. Integration is key to managing time, quality, and budget effectively.

Looking ahead, how do you see your firm evolving in the next five years?

In the next five years, I see my firm becoming an even more deeply bespoke service, helping clients not just design beautiful homes, but also clear the inner blockages that prevent them from living fully.

When and if required, I can combine my expertise in design and build with RTT and self-leadership coaching. In this way, I offer a uniquely transformative experience. I encourage clients to read my book before we work together, as it offers insight into my process and helps build emotional trust.

Additionally, I’ll soon be launching weekend retreats, focused on three transformational pillars: Body-Mind Alignment, Self-Leadership, and Mastering the Mind for Happiness and Success. These retreats will support clients in aligning their inner self with their living environment, leading to a more empowered, joyful life.

As Annabella puts it, “Our home should be a living reflection of who we are and who we are becoming.” This philosophy runs through her design, her coaching, and her vision for the future. In blending beauty with self-awareness, you will achieve balance.
