I talk a lot about SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) because I know how powerful they can be for streamlining your business, outsourcing effectively, and creating a better client experience.

And the more I talk about them, the more I get asked this common question:

What SOPs do I need?

I hate to spoil the fun by deflecting, but the SOPs your business will need is completely unique to you and your processes...

But, there are a few staple SOPs that I find MOST business owners I know can use, especially if you're providing services, offering 1:1 coaching or group programs, or creating courses...

  1. Client onboarding and offboarding. This is your opportunity to avoid scrambling, save time AND really wow your clients.

  2. Client support SOPs. This is a process for how you will support your clients WHILE they're working with you.

  3. Content creation SOPs. This is for your social media, visibility, and marketing efforts.

  4. Launch SOPs. This is your process for dropping a new offer — and filling it, of course.

  5. Project management SOPs. This is how you keep track of everything on your plate and make sure it all gets done, whether by you or by someone on your team.

  6. Podcast pitching SOPs. This is a fun one because in my opinion, podcasts are one of the best ways to get more exposure AND it can be streamlined and repeated easily.

  7. Team management and communication SOPs. This should capture everything about how you interact with your team.

  8. Tech-related SOPs. When you do anything techy, you want to have the process and your preferences documented so that you can outsource this ASAP.

So, of these examples, which ones do YOU need in your business right now?

Even if you don't resonate with all of these ideas, the one that I think is absolutely NON-NEGOTIABLE is your client onboarding process.

Make sure you grab my brand new (and totally free) Client Onboarding SOP Template to map out and optimize your process.
