Josh Grimm, Fitness and Mindfulness Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

My name is Josh Grimm and am the creator and founder of FitNut.

I grew up in a small town in Southwestern Pennsylvania with a very blessed upbringing of loving, hard working parents and a wonderful older sister. My family always encouraged us to be what we wanted and do what we wanted. I was in and out of colleges while modeling before I decided to move to NYC to pursue it full time. Quite quickly, I fell in love with the city and knew I would be there for a long time as it offered so many opportunities for growth and change.

I had developed quite a travel bug from an early age and a passion for anything travel related; airplanes, airports, hotels, cities far away, and new cultures and foods. Currently, I am at just about 55 countries visited (35 of them as a solo traveler) and the goal is to keep going until I run out of places to collect the passport stamp!

I do feel that NYC will always be home, but the next goal of mine is to create a life in another city such as Madrid or Berlin.

What inspired you to start FitNut, and what is the core mission of your business?

I started the brand FitNut in 2014 after returning from an extensive period of time in Southeast Asia. Toward the end of my 6-month stay, I experienced a painful breakup with my partner of two years and was feeling very isolated with moments of great sadness. I decided to volunteer with a children’s orphanage outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia with the hopes of becoming elevated enough to feel some lightness again. I was incredibly moved by my experience. My inspiration felt by the kids and workers at the orphanage motivated me to create a brand that not only helps people but has a giving-back component in a mindful and constructive way. I was inspired to build a brand that focused on what matters most to me: Fitness, Nutrition, travel, and giving back.

My core mission of my business is to aim to offer techniques and guidance in physical and mental health services through fitness, mindfulness, and wellness behavior coaching while maintaining the core belief values of practicing honesty, awareness, and segmented-intending allowing for positive growth in these areas of the individual's lives.

Can you describe the main services and products offered by FitNut and how they benefit your clients?

My offerings, from personal training to lifestyle coaching and immersive retreats, are designed for the modern individual who navigates the complexities of life with vigor and mindfulness. I provide not only the tools for physical transformation but also the space for emotional and mental growth, acknowledging that true wellness transcends the gym. My podcasts and curriculum offerings serve as conduits for inspiration, education, and community building, inviting users into a conversation that uplifts, informs, and connects.

What sets FitNut apart from other fitness and nutrition websites and services?

FitNut appeals to those who pursue fitness not as an end but as a means to a fuller, more enriched life. As a total lifestyle brand, FitNut is more than a destination for fitness; it's a journey towards a balanced, passionate life where every workout, podcast episode, and retreat is a step closer to holistic well-being. We champion the idea that being fit isn't just about the hours spent lifting weights or tracking macros; it's about nurturing the mind and spirit, embracing a lifestyle that fosters longevity, happiness, and inner strength

What are your future plans and goals for FitNut, and how do you envision the business evolving in the coming years?

FitNut aspires to become a global brand recognized for empowering individuals and organizations in their quest for superior well-being. My vision is to fuse mindfulness, wellness, and fitness in a seamless journey towards physical and mental growth, unlocking the innermost warrior within each person. Reimagining wellness seminars and wellness retreats, engaging digital content, my first book, and a mindfulness curriculum offering is all in the current works!

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

I don’t know if there is one moment, but a plethora of experiences that keep building into my life. These experiences and observations outward are what keep shifting me inward. The change and growth is what I thrive on and inspire me to help create change in others.
