My name Is Andrew Murphy. My friends call me Dru. I was born in Los Angeles, CA. back in the 1900s, lol. I grew up on the East Coast, and when I finally moved back to L.A., I was only there a few years before I moved to Sweden. Moving to Sweden was the best thing I ever did for myself and not that difficult of a decision seeing that I now had a child and my then-girlfriend who was Swedish. I knew I had to change my life if I was going to be a father and have a life.

A confident man wearing a stylish black fedora with a feather, a leather jacket, and a scarf sits casually on a purple chair, looking directly at the camera.

Long story short I moved to the north of Sweden in 1998, and it was a real culture shock for sure. I did not know the language or the culture and it took time for me to adapt. I did not care because at least I was not in the same negative situation I would have been in had I stayed in the U.S.

I lived in the north for several years and when I got separated in 2017, I started to travel a lot just to find myself and see the world. Let me back up a bit. When I lived up north, I worked as an assistant nurse in the psych hospital for criminals; the stories I could tell you, lol. I loved that job. I had so many crazy things that I witnessed, but I had a great group of people I worked with, and it was a learning experience for me.

So now it is 2017, and the kids are grown-ish, and their mother and I separated. That’s when I started traveling and trying to find my purpose. I knew I was destined for something great, and I knew it had to do with helping people because that is what I loved to do. All of the jobs I had were either in the psych ward, the emergency room, or the ambulance. I even got certified as a drug counselor, so I was on the path.

I went to Norway to work, and when I got back, it was 2020. The pandemic had come to Sweden and as an assistant nurse, I was able to get a job in one of the big hospitals working in the Akut Covid ward here in Stockholm. I loved the people I worked with, but the job was tough on my mental health. Seeing all of those people dying so quickly it was overwhelming. I stayed there until they shut it down and I was a mental wreck. It took time to heal and get my head back.

I met my now wife and she was a wonderful source of support. We got married and I have a wonderful relationship that I am truly grateful for. She is the love of my life, and we have a bond that cannot be broken. It was my wife who told me about coaching, and it sounded like something I wanted to check out. So, I did. I went and got certified (CBT/ACT), and less than a year later, I started Level Up Coaching & Consulting. I found my purpose! I knew my purpose was to help as many people as possible, but I did not know it would be coaching.

Coaching is a broad field, and I had heard of it before but didn’t give it much thought until I was ready to jump all in. I struggled at first with what field of coaching I wanted to go into. I have a lot of experience in different fields of care and health care, so it took me a minute to find my niche.

I realized that I can only teach and mentor what I know and that is self-worth. I grew up in a very hostile environment that was toxic, dangerous, and super dysfunctional. Self-worth was not easy to come by. You had to be tough to survive, but that didn’t mean you had self-worth; it just meant you were hiding behind your tough exterior. After I did the work on myself and was able to heal and move forward to becoming the best version of myself. I am now a certified CBT/ACT mindset self-worth coach and I love what I do for people. I now know the importance of changing your mindset and learning to love yourself for real. Living like this every day is what keeps me motivated to continue to serve and help as many people as I can while I am still here.

I know what it is like to not have any self-worth and believe in every limiting belief about yourself you hear. I also know what it feels like on the other side of that and I invite you to decide to change your view of yourself and start living the life you are meant to live! Make the decision! Take action now!
