Do you ever ask yourself, ‘How can my soul help me’?

The soul is underutilized by most! Yes, underutilized! Humanity overall is very focused on this world of materialism, everyday tasks, struggles, and hardships. This focus is dis-empowering. Traumatic experiences can leave people with triggers, anxiety, panic, and depression. They can also leave people feeling unworthy and overly focused on the human body and mind, rather than on spirituality. People often turn away from their spirituality when surviving the effects of trauma, as they may feel abandoned by the God source. But what if they did the opposite? What if they turned their focus within and connected with their souls?

Do traumatic experiences open up an opportunity to discover the soul?

I say a huge, YES! Recovering from trauma is one of the most difficult things people face. In fact, the mental health arena struggles in healing trauma. There has been no magic cure or technique found that is always effective. As a therapist and coach, this has truly troubled me. I began naturally changing my focus from coping skills and other psychological techniques to helping the client become more connected with their soul. This allows for a new perspective to be gained from their experiences and shifts them into using their survival as an opportunity to grow personally and spiritually and heal from these experiences in profound ways.

The soul, is bursting particles into the air

like throwing a handful of glitter And each little sparkle gently,

ever so gently floating until each finds its true destination

landing as a feather Creating an explosion so grand and so great

it cannot be understood Each little speck of glitter has the potential within it

for its power cannot be measured by its size A power so grand and expansive

A power that can heal all things Tips on how to connect with your soul:

  • Explore your personal beliefs about the soul ‒ what it is to you and what you believe it is capable of doing.

  • Keep a record of your intuition–what messages you receive and how they played out. This can be simple things such as knowing a friend would text or call, knowing you forgot something and not believing it and later learning in fact it was true. Your intuition is the voice of your soul, and this will help you listen to it and believe.

  • Begin a practice of meditation to train the conscious mind to be quieter. The conscious mind can drown out the voice of the soul.

  • Journal! Writing is an effective tool to use in allowing your inner wisdom to emerge.
