In her family home, as a child she had access to an extensive collection of books which fed her curiosity, enhanced her perspective and eagerness to experience and learn about the world. Ancient cultures, history, archaeology, magic and science were her favourite subjects. Her academic background is food engineering and marketing and international business.

In her 20 years plus of work experience, Joana Ester has lived in several countries such as Canada, Hungary, Brazil, Finland and her home country Portugal. Her strategic vision, pragmatism and purpose driven passion for learning have shaped her successful career, and led her to expand and self-reinvent, becoming an entrepreneur and launching her first endeavour in 2017 - Fortify Biz.
