- Hunter Myers, Founder and Chief Matchmaker at Verdure Design Co., Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Hunter Myers is the founder and chief matchmaker at Verdure Design Co., a branding studio that transforms "swipe left" businesses into "love at first sight" brands. With five years in the trenches helping entrepreneurs find their voice and vibe, Hunter isn't interested in making pretty logos; she's obsessed with creating brands that make customers weak in the knees. Her unconventional background in English and Sociology isn't the typical path to branding, and that's precisely her secret weapon. Where others see marketing challenges, Hunter sees relationship dynamics. Her "brand matchmaking" method has entrepreneurs ditching the corporate-speak and cookie-cutter templates in favor of authentic brand personalities that spark genuine chemistry with their ideal customers. Hunter's clients, predominantly women and LGBTQ+ business owners tired of blending into the beige background of their industries, find themselves not just clarifying their positioning but discovering their power. They stop apologizing for their prices, quit chasing uninterested prospects, and build businesses that attract the right people without the exhausting dance of being everything to everyone. When she's not elbow-deep in strategy sessions or design work, you'll find Hunter serving up unfiltered truths on her YouTube channel, hosting conversations that cut through the noise on her show The Brand Bite Podcast, or enthusiastically explaining to anyone who'll listen why finding your ideal customer is exactly like dating. - Miranda Jane, Neurodivergent Affirming Nervous System Coach, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
I’m Miranda Jane, and I’m the equivalent of a “horse-whisperer” for the neurodivergent nervous system. I first learned that I had a special skill when I was about 8 years old and the Girl Scout camp counselors asked if they could put me in the tent with a “troubled” kid, because I had a soothing effect on them. As an official camp counselor 10 years later, I was requested to visit certain children at bedtime to help them fall asleep. I would imagine connecting my heart to theirs, and then, gently, I would start slowing down my own heart. The children would drift off to sleep smiling, and one kid coined a phrase that stuck: “Miranda’s magic!” But in my own life, I struggled. I was accepted into a rigorous program at an Ivy League college, but working my way through it nearly killed me. I developed PTSD, and then my body went into primary ovarian failure. After that, my memory and ability to think deteriorated so sharply that I no longer recognized my own mind. Today I know this was an Autistic burnout with skill loss, but at the time I just assumed I was “crazy” and “broken.” I waited tables for 15 years after graduating, afraid to push my brain too hard again. With medication and time, I got better. Eventually, I went to grad school and studied counseling, ultimately training in Somatic Experiencing (SE). It was SE that put my PTSD into remission, and using it to help other people feel better is my calling. Finally, at 48 years old, I learned that I’m Autistic and ADHD, and now it all makes sense. My sensitive nervous system is both a blessing and a curse, but it has sparked what’s become my life mission: To help late identified neurodivergent people who struggle with a hair trigger fight/flight response, chronic dissociation, meltdowns, shutdowns, and burnout, learn how to work WITH their nervous system instead of against it, and build up love and trust for themselves at long last. - Sharon Clare, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Sharon Clare is the founder of Sharon Clare Hypnotherapy. Sharon has dedicated her career to supporting others ensuring people with disabilities receive high-quality care while leading and coaching teams to thrive. Sharon found deep fulfillment in her work, but the pressures of leadership particularly leading a social care organisation through the challenges of COVID, were immense. Like so many in high-pressure roles, she kept pushing forward and put others first, not fully realising the toll it had taken until much later. When an unexpected redundancy forced her to pause and reflect, she saw an opportunity to realign her work with her values in a way that was both impactful and sustainable. That turning point led her to hypnotherapy, a discovery that transformed her own life. Now, as an accredited Solution-Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist, she helps professional women struggling with stress, burnout, or major life transitions to regain control and create lasting change. Her approach, rooted in neuroscience and solution-focused techniques, empowers clients to rewire the way they think, feel, and respond to life’s challenges. Sharon also has a special passion for helping people overcome fears around surgery and medical procedures, an area of expertise shaped by her own experiences both as a teenager and a mother. During her hypnotherapy training, she also helped a child with a severe needle phobia gain the confidence to undergo much-needed surgery. These moments reinforced her belief in the mind’s ability to transform fear into calm and control, and now, she helps others do the same. Sharon is certified in the Rewind Technique - also known as the Fast Phobia Cure. Sharon is an accredited member of the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapists and a registered member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. Sharon volunteers at the cancer care unit at her local hospital every week. Outside of her work, Sharon finds peace in the open water, swimming year-round along the beautiful Northern Irish coast. What began as a way to cope with burnout has become a cherished ritual that keeps stress at bay. Whatever challenges her clients face, Sharon believes that change is always possible and with the right approach, they can create a life that feels calmer, more fulfilling, and completely their own. - Gemma Gains, Holistic Therapist, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
In a world increasingly saturated with curated calm, trending therapies, and quick-fix wellness solutions, Gemma Gains offers something different: presence. Not the performative kind, but a grounded, embodied awareness. A presence that reaches beyond the polished surface of healing culture and invites you into something older, deeper. A return. A remembering. Gemma Gains is a space-holder, guide, and intuitive practitioner whose work defies labels and intentionally so. Her approach is rooted not in protocol but in deep relational attunement, nature-based wisdom, and real human experience. She's walked beside people through grief, transition, disconnection, and the quiet ache of not knowing who they are anymore, not as someone offering answers, but as someone who holds space for their remembering. “So much of modern therapy is about managing symptoms,” she says. “But symptoms are often messengers. If we only silence them, we miss the deeper invitation.” Healing as a Process of Returning Gemma’s practice is shaped by a deep belief: that the power to heal already lives within each person. Her role is not to fix or advise, but to create the conditions where that inner intelligence can safely emerge. She facilitates space using presence, deep listening, the natural world, and intuitive resonance for people to reconnect with their own internal compass. “I’m not healing anyone,” Gemma says. “I’m holding space while they remember how to heal. That distinction matters.” This belief in personal sovereignty is central to her work. Clients are not passive recipients in a process; they are the authors of it. Autonomy, empowerment, and trust are the foundations. Healing is not something done to you; it’s something you step into, fully, when the space is right. And often, that space is outside the walls of traditional therapy. Nature as Mirror, Elements as Guide One of the unique aspects of Gemma’s work is her relationship with the natural world. She draws on the intelligence of the elements, earth, air, fire, and water, to support and guide transformation. Whether in-person or online, she brings the energy of nature into the space as a co-facilitator of healing. “Nature reminds us of cycles, of death and renewal, of stillness and movement,” she says. “We’re not separate from those rhythms. When we remember that, something shifts.” Sessions might be grounded in breath, silence, movement, storytelling, or elemental ritual. Each moment is led not by a script but by what the body, soul, and environment are calling for. Going Deeper: To the Root Rather than focusing on surface-level symptom management, Gemma works with people to trace their pain to its roots, to the places where stories began, where disconnection took hold, where something essential was forgotten. Her approach is slow, spacious, and patient. Because true healing isn’t fast, it’s deep. Her work is not about quick fixes or clean resolutions. It’s about going beneath the surface noise to the grief, the fury, the longing, the beauty and holding space for what’s real. That process is often messy. But it’s also sacred. Ancestral Threads, Present-Day Wounds Though firmly rooted in the present, Gemma’s way of working carries echoes of ancestral knowing-the kind passed through dreams, through silence, through the bones. She honours what has been forgotten or silenced: the wisdom of the body, the intelligence of intuition, the sacredness of story. Much of what modern systems pathologize, she sees as natural responses to an unwell world. And when those responses are welcomed rather than judged, the shame begins to dissolve. “There’s so much power in being witnessed, not as broken, but as whole,” she says. “Sometimes, that’s all the nervous system needs to begin to soften.” Not Your Therapist But Something Deeper Gemma doesn’t offer formulas. She doesn’t offer diagnoses. What she offers is a presence undistracted, non-judgmental, deeply attuned presence. Those who work with her often describe the experience as disarming in the best way, like being truly seen for the first time. There’s no pressure to perform, explain, or achieve. Just an invitation to be. Her sessions are relational and intuitive, a conversation between souls, not a checklist of goals. She meets each person where they are, trusts the process, and allows healing to unfold in its own time. Who Comes to Gemma Gemma works with those who are craving depth, spaciousness, and truth. Many come after trying everything else. Some arrive in the midst of heartbreak, transition, or inner disconnection. Others don’t know why they’re there, only that something inside is ready to shift. She especially welcomes those who feel “too much” or “not enough,” those who have been labelled as overly sensitive, intense, or different. She sees those qualities not as problems, but as portals signs of deep perception and often, untapped gifts. “If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit, there’s a reason,” she says. “And that reason is not a flaw. It’s a calling.” Offerings Gemma’s work is available both in person and online. She offers: One-on-one soul sessions, intuitive, slow, deeply attuned Longer-term containers for those ready to commit to a deeper unfolding Small group circles and retreats seasonal, nature-based, and rooted in shared ritual and witnessing. Every offering is bespoke, shaped by what the moment asks for, not by a template. A Space to Come Home Gemma Gains doesn’t promise healing in six steps. She won’t tell you who you are. She won’t fix you. But she will hold space for the parts of you that have long been silenced. She’ll walk beside you in the places you thought no one could go. She’ll help create the environment in which change can happen real, lasting, soul-deep change. Because healing isn’t about controlling symptoms, it’s about returning to your truth. And Gemma is one of those rare souls who knows how to hold the door open for that return. - Jenny Hersey, Life Coach and Counsellor, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Jenny Hersey is a life coach, counsellor, supervisor, and critical incident debriefer. Jenny started her journey in mental health in 2003 after struggling with depression for several years. Her experience during this time was a lonely one, and she was dismayed at the lack of support available for people in crisis. Jenny's first role was with a community mental health charity in Bristol, UK, where she still lives. Her lived experience of being in crisis herself gave her the compassion and empathy to work with others in similar situations. Jenny continued working in mental health for 10 years. During this time, she worked in psychiatric hospitals, on intensive care and acute mental health wards, in rehabilitation, and with a dementia outreach service. In 2013, Jenny began volunteering for a charity working with victims of crime. After six months, she was invited to work on the sexual violence, murder, manslaughter, and road death teams. It was at this time that Jenny felt the need for further training to help her truly listen and be present. She enrolled in a counselling skills course and immediately fell in love with it. She later completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) in therapeutic counselling and has been working as a counsellor and life coach since 2015. She holds diplomas in life coaching, couples and family therapy, management and leadership, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ADHD coaching, and child development. In 2024, she completed her advanced HND in counselling supervision and now supervises other counsellors, as well as professionals in sectors such as adult and child social services and the prison and probation services. Since becoming qualified, Jenny has worked in areas including sexual violence and abuse, domestic abuse, human trafficking, and modern slavery. Jenny has also completed extensive training in trauma and critical incident debriefing. She travels across the UK, working with first responders who have witnessed traumatic events such as terror attacks, murders, natural disasters, and suicides. Jenny continues to work with individuals from her home and online, supporting clients all over the world. She says she enjoys this work most of all. Jenny believes that everyone has the ability to heal themselves and sees herself as the vehicle to help them get there. She does not consider herself an expert in any field except her own life. She says: "I will never tell a client what to do. Why? Because we all live our lives through our own lens. What may work for me may not work for you. I am an expert on me; I understand my strengths and weaknesses, know my triggers and how I respond, and I know what I like and don’t like. Everyone is their own expert on themselves.
