  • How To Swap Scarcity Thoughts For An Abundance Mindset

Written by: Joshua Peters, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Do beliefs about money get in the way of your success? Your money mindset controls your thoughts and behaviors around finances, and it influences whether you take opportunities to grow. You'll lag behind people with a healthy wealth mindset if you don't appreciate that financial success is possible. Here's how to shut down your negative views about money to increase prosperity and business success. This simple NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) practice can help you accomplish your goals fast, but first, here's what it entails. NLP Swish method The Swish technique switches one impression for another. It teaches your mind a different way to think, literally reprogramming the neurons, and helps you ditch unwanted beliefs and habits that hold you back. For an abundance mindset, you swap scarcity thoughts with abundance thoughts, and the Swish method releases you from poverty thinking. The technique is named Swish because the swap is fast. You create pictures in your mind as fast as possible as you practice the exercise. The Abundant Swish 1. First, find a moment in your life that triggers the unwanted thoughts. Think of the last time you struggled with money, or felt frustrated about financial success. Become aware of your location and who else is there. Notice what you see in front of you. Perhaps looking at your bills or checking your bank account is the trigger for your thoughts. Maybe it’s ordering the inexpensive lunch off the menu or visiting with your friend who has lots of success. It doesn’t matter what it is, just become aware of it. Make the image of the trigger moment clear in your mind, sharpen the details. Make it like a photograph. 2. Now that you’ve identified the trigger for the unwanted idea, count backward from 10, sing happy birthday, or do something else for a moment before moving on (we are breaking state here). 3. Now imagine yourself from the future with an abundant mindset. How will you feel? More confident? At ease? Inspired? Notice what that is for you. What is the look on your face? What is your posture? How do you breathe? What are you wearing? What do you do with your abundance? How will these changes improve your life? Make all the images, sounds, and feelings big and bright and bold. When you're immersed in how terrific it feels to be wealthy, shrink the picture down to the size of a postage stamp and place it in the bottom corner of the negative image. 4, Break your mental state again. Wipe the images from your mind and jump up and down, or think about what you will have for dinner tomorrow. 5. Now bring up the negative image, with the tiny little positive image down in the corner. 1, 2, 3, Swish! Let the positive image EXPLODE out, filling and covering up the negative image. Let the feelings and the sounds and the images get big and bright and loud, flowing over and through you. Then sweep the screen of your mind clean fast, so only whiteness remains. Repeat the Swish, picturing the negative image with the small positive image down in the corner. 1, 2, 3, Swish! Notice the positive image EXPLODE out, getting bigger and brighter and bolder, feel the feelings, hear the sounds, see the sights. Carry out the exercise nine more times in quick succession, breaking your state between each Swish. Test the trigger Think of the event that usually triggers the scarcity thoughts and notice what’s different. As the technique works, it becomes hard to remember how you used to feel. If, however, you still feel negative, repeat the exercise, taking your time. The Swish technique is very effective when practiced, but it's not always easy. Don't worry if you aren't successful at first. Also, feel free to play with your imagination. People are different, so what works for one individual may not for another. Rather than see the future you replace the trigger moment, you can imagine another scenario. Some people imagine the idea they want to get rid of turns into a ball they throw in the distance. They then see the positive replacement image bounce back and grow until it fills their mental screen. Whatever works for you is best. You may have a poverty mindset right now, but you can change it with the Swish technique. Read these instructions several times until you learn them by heart, speak them into a recorder and play them back, or get a friend to read them for you. If the exercise works straight away, terrific. If not, repeat it and change the imagery to work for you. You'll know when you've got it right because your ideas about money will begin to change. Rather than a scarcity mindset you’ll enjoy thoughts and feelings of abundance that help you act in ways that increase your wealth. • You Are The Gift (Part 1)

Written by: Christopher H. McKinney Sr., Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. This article is off the beaten path I typically traverse when writing. I wrote this article for the sole purpose of lifting others. Why? Because we do not all have great days. We all encounter challenges, both large and small. Some of us have experienced more challenges than others. Some have been in the valley for an extended period and do not see the end in sight. But the good news is, we are still standing. We are still here. I often hear that the world is dark, but it does NOT have to be that way. No matter how small, light displaces darkness regardless of how entrenched the darkness may be. The question is, do we have the courage to introduce light when we have the power to do so? We all have God-given gifts. Our gifts are as numerous as there are people on the planet. One can paint. Another can teach. The next is good with finances. The other is a great administrator. Our gifts are assigned for specific purposes with intentionality. YOUR gifts are given so YOU can accomplish specific things while you still draw breath. Additionally, our gifts are not for us to hoard but for the benefit of others. Our gifts are given and designed to make other people's lives better. When we share (give) our gift, we introduce light into the world. No matter how small, light displaces darkness regardless of how entrenched the darkness may be. Think about it. What if Henry Ford never invented the Model T? What if Mother Teresa had never sought to make the world a better place? What if Dr. King Jr. did not seek equality? Where would our world be today if they buried their gifts in the ground? Your gifts are given for the specific benefit of others and the planet. Someone is waiting to have their life improved by you releasing your gifts. Release your gift. I don’t know if fear of failure, lack of resources, or ridicule is holding you back, but I encourage you to take a step toward releasing your gift. Sharing your gift is win-win. The people who benefit from your gift win because you enhance their life, and you win because you gave. In a study published by Nature Communications at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, researchers found that a group of people instructed to spend money on others reported more happiness than a group instructed to spend money on themselves. Brain chemicals associated with happiness were found to be much more active in the "giving" group. I have personally found that the secret to living my "best life" is hidden in sharing my gifts. … the secret to living my “best life” is hidden in sharing my gifts. Are you seeking joy? Release your gifts. Are you seeking a stronger financial position? Release your gifts. Are you seeking respect? Release your gifts. I hope you are open to what I have said thus far. But before I proceed there is one critical fact, I hope you can get from your head to your heart. Our gifts ARE NOT in competition with other people’s gifts. Our gifts are meant to complement and enhance the gifts of others. Columbia University Professor Hitendra Wadhwa shared, “At every level of nature—from the cellular level to organs in the body to planets in the solar system—there is an interchange going on. Each helps to support the overall stability of the system, and this system then makes each individual element reach their highest unique potential." I need you, and you need me. Share your gift. There is no need to have a scarcity mindset (I must compete with you to win). The world is a big place. The universe is an even bigger place. There is more than enough space for everyone to share their gift without feeling like they must compete with the next person. In fact, the scarcity mindset causes us to fail to maximize our gifts. Our gifts are meant to complement the gifts of others. Now you may say, "I am not so sure I agree with you, Chris.” I will expand. When I perceive that my gifts compete with yours, my energy and attention are spent on one-upping you, and I can miss opportunities. What opportunities? Opportunities to collaborate and learn from others as I share with them. Opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from my mistakes. Even though I think that by competing against you, I will expand my territory, this mindset is actually one of contraction in the long run. If I understand that our gifts are complementary and I seek to assist and add value to others, the world of possibilities expands. When I seek to support and lift you, I am also elevated and visa-versa. The world is better when I use my gifts to complement your gifts, and you use your gifts to complement me. It has often been said, and it is factually accurate, that a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle. The question is, do we have enough courage to light someone else’s candle? Can we take our eyes off ourselves long enough to see the benefit of aiding others? Or can we allow someone else to light our candle? Can you imagine a fully illuminated world because so many people’s candles are lit and lighting other candles? The bottom line is that it is not a zero-sum game. In fact, it is a game of exponents because your gifts enhance my gifts. This enhancement can lead to an exponential increase. For example, is Dr. Michael E. Perry, the CEO of KATALIS, a business consulting firm. He was working with me as my executive coach, but this required me to sit my ego down and see him for the true gift that he is and make room for him. By putting aside my pride to receive input, I created space for him to share his gift. This allowed him to shine his light into internal areas with a measure of darkness (blind spots), to which I was completely oblivious. By shining his light, he helped me to become a better version of myself. And in the role, I was in as CEO, it was definitely exponential gains and not simple addition. Another example is of my bride, Danya McKinney (LMHC/LMH), owner of Fostering Hope Counseling. I sometimes struggle receiving her gifts because the intimate relationships are fraught with landmines called “emotions”. She is gifted at her craft and has an uncanny ability to see the blind spots for her clients and me. I was dealing with a very stressful situation while in my CEO role, and she saw it. She approached and was first to say, “You may need to let go and move on. You can do anything and will be great at whatever you do.” I usually would get stuck on the fact that she suggested I should move on and miss the encouragement and affirmations (light). But not this time, over time, by making space for her gift, I came to know that her words were valid and confirming, and I stepped out and formed 10X Leadership Consulting. There was no loss for me by her sharing her gift. Her sharing helped my light shine brighter, enhancing my health while giving me a greater means to provide for my family. This is absolutely exponential growth! The bottom line is it is not a zero-sum game. I am convinced that EVERYONE who is drawing breath on the earth has a gift to share. You would have ceased to draw breath if there were no reason (purpose) for your life. For our world to maximize its potential, we ALL must share our gifts with the rest of the world (humanity). We begin to illuminate the darkness as we share our gifts with the world. When I say the “world”, to be more specific, I am talking about your family, neighborhood, office, and wherever you have influence. This is the starting place for creating worldwide change. The more we share our gifts, the more darkness is displaced. Darkness can only exist and persist if we fail or refuse to share our gifts. Darkness also continues to exist and prevail when I fail to understand that my gift is not in competition with yours. Light dominates when I understand that my gifts complement your gifts, and yours complement mine. Sadly, the largest repository of gifts is in the cemetery. Many people go to their graves with so much to give inside them. William Wallace said, “Every man (woman) dies. Not every man really lives." The key to truly living is releasing the gifts inside you. There is no benefit of your gifts in the cemetery. Light dominates when I understand that my gifts complement your gifts, and yours complement mine. Share your gift. You matter! The world needs you and your gift. I need you and your gift. Light dispels darkness, no matter how dark. Do NOT be afraid of the dark, for the moment light appears, darkness recedes. You are the gift! Keep believing. Let your light pierce the darkness! • What Is Quantum Coaching And Healing

Written by: Mell Balment, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Every time I get asked ‘What do you do’ I struggle to answer, I hate the ‘pitch concept’ but totally understand the need to explain myself really clearly so people ‘get’ what I do. The challenge is that in order to explain I have to know (or guess) what level of spirituality they have, or what understanding they have about subconsciousness. I suppose it’s kind of like asking a meteorologist how they ‘do’ their work, you have to determine if the person you’re talking to has any scientific, climate or even geographic knowledge. The language and terminology used for each would be unique and the interrelation between the environment, land and atmosphere could quickly get complex. What is Quantum coaching and healing? I figured an article with the ability to cross-reference terms would be helpful to use all my phrases and language into one document. I’ve listed all of the terms at the end of the article in alphabetical order for you to refer to as you read along. So here goes! As a Deep Belief Hacker, I support my clients to access their subconscious in order to reframe, clear or heal the subconscious Belief Systems holding them back in life or business. Using my Mindweb Analysis processes, I identify what needs to be addressed to support their success going forward. The web then filters everything that flows past it – regardless if we want it filtered or not. These limited beliefs and associated complex systems are created, because our subconscious wants to protect our heart from being hurt, which can be as simple as judgements from others, denying or sabotaging our efforts to escape the possibility of failing, or more commonly avoiding emotional pain. ‘How’ this happens is from our Ego’s (or as I like to refer our Gremlin’s) perception of the impact on our soul. Unfortunately, ego is usually a little (or a lot for some people) overzealous with its defence systems. Creating over-the-top protective mechanisms for all sorts of perceived threats. These are usually then what need to be unravelled for our ultimate success. Ego also works out that it’s easier to avoid starting something than become a loser by ‘failing’ at it! The most important job for humans and especially business owners is to keep the mind free of these over-protective, unhelpful perspectives about the goals and ambitions being focused on. If we are afraid of being more stressed, with more work and less time for our family or ourselves, then ego won’t let us do the activity that would generate success… even though the success might enable to us to hire help and outsource other responsibilities! I found that when I got to work and aligned all aspects of my superconscious, with my human conscious choices, I was able to drop the chaos, mess and stress of my subconscious and Quantum Leap my efforts, finding a new state of ease and flow in all aspects of my life. Here's the thing though It's not your fault, as it’s the Belief System of your subconscious that’s been layering its view of the world - without you having any authorisation of the context, perspective or decisions of what’s accurate versus what’s unhelpful – you aren’t aware of what’s ‘back there’. It’s like using a computer operating system or app, and expecting to know ‘how’ it spits out the answers or results of your interactions with it. The hardest thing on earth is to learn how to ‘be’ a human, that’s the entire point of our existence. To understand that when we stop struggling, and ‘be ok’ with our own hardships, then we become the person at peace, with the learnings from them. You aren’t meant to KNOW all this stuff, you are here to learn and often we don’t know what our blind spots are, (I know I can’t see my own blindness!) How much easier would life be, if you simply felt or recognised there is a blind spot and got help to navigate around it or better still to dismantle the obstacle entirely. Or to spot the glitches of your BS (Belief System) and clean out the old cache files or even hyperlinks that aren’t accurate or relevant anymore. The good news is that this is possible and isn’t hard to do! So how do I know all this? I’m Mell Balment, International Coach of the Year and Top 10 Energy Healers globally. From 650 mindweb analysis sessions over the last 6+ years, I've worked through the entire spectrum of my BS and now support business owners and high achievers accomplish their success. Empaths are my most favourite people as I’m a multi-gifted one myself - I totally get you! But I didn’t arrive here overnight. I’ve done hundreds of sessions and hours of work on myself with multiple coaches and healers over the last 20 years and I’m still going… in fact I won’t stop doing the inner-work until I’m on my resting bed. I’m constantly working on my Mindset Mastery to command my choices and emotions by design and conscious thoughts. Why? Because that’s the point of my existence, to raise my awareness (and frequency) to its highest, in order for me to be at peace when I pass over. To know that I achieved everything I wanted to in this lifetime (which by the way, is to support others to address their BS to go on and achieve their greatest dreams to serve humanity better). I know my calling, and partnering with other experts and specialists allows me to ensure the content of their brilliance is fully leveraged. So many Empath-preneurs, want to follow through on the strategic plans of their advisers, consultants and mentors, without realising their blind spots and heart-protection gets in the way. It doesn’t matter how many posts you put out or campaigns you launch, if you subconscious doesn’t want the results for any reason you won’t be able to hold onto the results. (ie, you may have some wins and success, but the money will disappear or it will be difficult clients or challenges rather than be easy and fast.) That’s why supporting other coaches is so powerful. I’m there to ensure every action our clients want to take is not blocked or sabotaged. Supporting those preneurs to upgrade their BS so they can go on and create the money, life and legacy their soul truly desires. How do I identify the subconscious issues using mindweb analysis? It begins with my CRP process, which is my award-winning method of guiding my clients using meditation to switch from alpha ‘awake’ brain-state to Theta brain-state, which is the stage between awake and dreaming – you’re semi aware that you’re dreaming but not ‘waking up’ from the awareness. This is the most relaxed state you can be in and allows YOU to access your subconscious. This is where the magic happens. Through a facilitated conversation I help you to locate, access or remember parts of your subconscious memory. The purpose is to find the exact situation that created a belief or perspective of that situation to be locked in a way that is un-helpful and un-serving. In this altered state I facilitate a process of Mindweb analysing, to identify the issues my client has come to me with. Together we identify all of the aspects holding that particular mindweb in place. Here’s how I like to describe it visually. 1. A very common aspect showing up in the last few years for many clients are Generational Imprints. This is when we take on the energetic impacts from our ancestors (studies have suggested these can go back 14 generations). This frequently displays as the energy of poverty and hardship from our grand- grandparents and great-grandparents going through the World Wars. Their suffering and survival struggles were very real and strongly integrated into their epigenetics being passed on through their genes as a result. 2. All cobwebs require anchors to hold a web in the air. I refer to the anchor lines of the web as Attachments or Karmic Ties. These are what anchors a belief in place and can be associated with any sort of outcome, person or emotion. Our psyche holds onto that anchor, keeping what it wants to keep safe ‘locked-in’ or what it believes to be true as a fundamental part of its identity or BS. Attachment example: my client ‘L’ was struggling to attract new clients – she felt stuck. We found their belief ‘my success in the past has happened by chance’ = it’s not really easily repeatable. Her anchor was a big Mindstorm that she couldn’t get past, she was anchored to being in the chaos of a storm cloud that she had no control over, everything was unpredictable and matched the heavy energy she felt about her business. We cleared the storm for smooth sailing. 3. Next is DNA damage, which is often – but not always - caused by the attachments crating energetic wounds. Using Epigenetics, I’m able to support my client to heal the wound and even replace the area with nurturing supportive energy. Similar to bulbs that have bene left in a planter being drowning, going putrid with too much rain, we get rid of the rotten matter and clean it out for new bulbs to be replanted. The planter remains in place, it’s just the contents that are refreshed. 4. A frequent issue to be supported with is forgiving those that have caused us emotional trauma. There is a gentle approach that does not require reliving or re-experiencing the episode or situation. A delightful process can simply be forgiving ourselves for ‘allowing’ the situation to happen to us, or forgiving ourselves for not being able to avoid or escape it. We carry so much self-loathing and guilt un-necessarily, we can only respond or react with the knowledge we had at that moment of time, so why beat ourselves up for not knowing any different ‘back then’? 5. I also want to take the opportunity to explain the difference between an Axiom and Limiting belief. Limiting beliefs are perceptions or perspectives that have been interpreted from an experience directly encountered. Whilst an Axiom is a belief accepted as truth, without having experienced it first-hand – in this context, often in an unhelpful way. Another client ‘S’ uncertainty about her future was technically an Axiom, as we discovered it was her brother’s uncertainty rather than her own fears. She experienced his emotions when she was young and carried her perspective about life being uncertain from that point forward. Her young self, didn’t even know the full scenario, but the fearful emotion was still locked into her body whenever the same dynamic of conflict came up with other loved ones as an adult – not just her brother. 6. Let’s move onto memories of our mindweb, which is the layers of different thoughts, emotions and beliefs, like the interwoven threads making up the web itself. Some are directly linked and others are like the cross wires that are convoluted connections. The trick is discovering all of the unhelpful Quantum of consciousness’s that our mind has locked away. We can unlock through talk therapy, but Quantum Healing is the key to dissolving the locks entirely. Some of these memories and their associated emotions or energies can also be locked-in, at various parts of our development. Occasionally our soul creates a belief right at the point of conception into this lifetime existence. It can be as simple as apprehension of ‘change’ which could affect us for our entire lives – but thankfully can be addressed subcosnciously. Past memories example: Client ‘S’ had a secondary different feeling of uncertainty every time she had an argument with her partner. Without knowing why, she was anxious that their fight would lead to them breaking up – rather than an opportunity to learn about each other and grow their relationship to be stronger. Through some enquiry we identified the nervous energy was labelled ‘I’m scared about my future’ (which is the first clue to me, that her fears weren’t actually about the relationship). When we located the memory that was generating her whirlwind of anxiety, it was from a time during her schooling years when she ‘dropped out’ of her chosen career path. Her uncertainty had nothing to do with breaking up. 7. We also have exposure to energy whilst in the womb – by being aware of something mum is experiencing when pregnant. Sometimes the embryo absorbs energy into it’s world and carries that energy into adult hood. Additionally, the time of birth can generate emotions felt by mum and adopted by the child. We are simply energetic being absorbing messages, signals and emotions into our being, energetic transference isn’t that complicated to understand when you consider that you’ve felt a charged atmosphere when walking into the middle of an argument or conflict. 8. And it’s been proven time and again that regardless of whether my clients believe in reincarnation, our soul’s past life experiences in other time-lines or lives absolutely carry the lesson or energy into this lifetime – until it’s resolved. It can be remarkable to see the pattern of energy repeating through multiple centuries and life experiences. Clients often laugh at the way it shows up in multiple ways in this life, so it’s not a big stretch to comprehend the memories that come through from previous lives lived. What are empathpreneurs? Another key part of my work is supporting empaths to understand their Claire Senses, so they can increase their Intuitive knowing and trust their instincts and downloads. This is when we enhance our connection with our Higher Self creating more Neuro Knowledge and Empathic Intelligence. When we can tell the difference – and better still the cause – of emotional responses we can calm the Reticular Activated System therefore having more balanced and meaningful connections with those around us. It takes time to be conscious of our blocks and recognise when we are self-sabotaging our relationships and efforts. This is when a soul become unwavered in the alignment of their soul and human endeavours. If you’d like to read more about being an empathic employee, empathic leadership, being a business owner in any service sector or on a spiritual journey of learning you can find more articles in my empathic series. • Take Control – The Path To Clarity

Written by: Dr. Allen Lycka, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Imagine that it's one year from today, and you're living a fantastic life. Where are you now? What does it look like in one year? What does it feel like? Who are the people you talk to daily and weekly? And where are you spending your time? Now, let's build this backward. What do you need to get there? What skills do you need to get the outcomes you want? What advice and help do you need to keep you concentrated and advancing? What's the very first step you need to take? What's keeping you back? Perplexed? Are you still attempting to deduce where to start? To control your life, you must be clear about what you want. Otherwise, you are practicing blind archery. Have big ambitions and write them down. Include exactly what you envision for how much money you want, profession, relationships, home, personal projects, and other relevant categories. For example, write down the exact amount if you want a raise. If you're going to move, describe your new residence with as many details as feasible. If you wish to better friendships, spell out precisely what that means. Once you have a complete, full, and detailed description of everything you want, it's time to make a plan. As you map your paths to success in different categories, you'll notice that some take longer. That's ok! What's essential is that your desires are clearly defined and that you focus on the actions you can take to progress. Break down more significant, longer-term goals into measurable and manageable milestones, including deadlines and how much time each will take to accomplish. That way, you can track your progress and hold yourself accountable! (More about accountability below.) Again, you want to be as specific as possible. If you want to finish writing your book this year, write down how many words you will write daily—set deadlines for finding an editor, cover designer, and publisher. Write down the date your book will go to print and how many books you will sell in the first month! Yes, that is specific! A clear image and action plan will help you determine the tools and resources needed to move forward. Please list everything you need to achieve your objectives and the dates you need them by. That turns your dreams into goals ‒ goals are dreams with a deadline and a concrete plan. It's essential to plan if you need to take a course or save up to make a substantial acquisition. Do you need updated software? New supplies? Books? An e-course or workshop? Which tools and resources do you need access to first? Before shopping, be sure you're clear about how each item on your list will accelerate your path to success. And ask others what the best way to accomplish it is. That way, you'll be able to quickly determine your best action plan, saving time and resources. You've got everything you need to succeed in yourself. Practically. Success takes a village, no matter who you are, what you know, or where you're going. Consciously develop a community that will support you, hold you responsible, and celebrate when you are victorious. Of course, it would help if you had friends and family, but you also need to invest in relationships with peers, mentors, and experts. Put yourself near the people who have already made it to where you want to be and accomplish what you want to do! The most successful people surround themselves with others who will challenge and motivate them. They also have coaches to help them stay concentrated, avoid costly mistakes, and go further, faster. Taking control of your life comes down to knowing what you want and what it takes to get it. With a clear vision, a specific plan, access to the right tools and resources, and a support system to encourage you, you'll have everything you need to make your dream life a reality. • 5 Remote Careers To Help You Enjoy Location Freedom

Written by: Jorge Contreras, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Remote careers are relatively new ventures that emerged with the internet era. In the past, people needed to drive or commute to do their jobs at designated places. But with the restrictions caused by the pandemic, along with our global connectivity, people came to realize they can also make money wherever they go. And this “location freedom” is one of the best benefits of working remotely. Now there are a number of online jobs you can do from the comfort of your home or from anywhere in the world. And if you’re looking for one right now, we even have 5 remote career recommendations for you! These remote jobs may or may not include work aligned with your interests. But if there's one thing sure about them, they'll help you make money from everywhere you are. Now read until the end because we're giving you amazing tips on how to start a particular venture and enjoy not only location freedom but passive income with it. Now let's get started. 1. Content creation The global online community is always hungry for content. And I know you can relate to this because you’re probably drawn to some particular interests yourself. Well, you can use these interests and create content on these specific niches too. If you’re a talented writer and you love traveling, you can create blogs that cater to people who like reading about the places you happen to visit. If you like making and editing videos, you can create informative content for people as well. All of these have the potential to make you money and you'll find them fun to do too. 2. Translation services Are you fluent in one or more languages other than your mother tongue? Then you can offer translation services online! More and more companies are going global (even small businesses) and they'll need your help to reach a wider audience. 3. Virtual assistance Entrepreneurs and start-ups often need aid with day-to-day tasks within the company. And some of these jobs need to be outsourced in order to save on manpower costs. So if you are skilled in managing work and have the knack for helping people find solutions to business problems, you can offer online virtual assistance to entrepreneurs and companies even if they're from other countries. 4. Online teaching Let's say you have a master's degree in Engineering. You like teaching people but don't want to be tied to an institution. So what do you do? Well, how about becoming an online coach or teacher? This career will not only give you the freedom to go wherever you want while making money, but it will also make use of your expertise in the field. 5. Starting an online business Now technically, some of the careers listed above can be considered self-employment. That is unless you own an agency that offers the said services. In that case, you become an entrepreneur and you now own an online business. But online businesses are not limited to services. They also include selling stuff on platforms like Amazon, and sometimes they even include dropshipping products that you don't store in a warehouse. These are just 5 of the top remote work you can do anywhere you are in the world. And these online ventures can not only help you earn money, but they can also let you enjoy location freedom as well. Passive income vs. Location freedom However, we need to address the difference between being able to work anywhere and being able to generate passive income. Because while some people think they're synonymous, they actually don't mean the same thing. For example, having an online business may mean that you can do your tasks anywhere while you're accepting orders. But it's still not passive if you have to pack those orders and answer customers yourself. A passive income source will let you earn even without you using your time for it. Now that you know the difference, you're probably wondering what online ventures can give you location freedom while earning passive income. And for this, we recommend starting an online business with Airbnb. Making money with Airbnb Airbnb hosting has become one of the most popular side hustles for those who have spare spaces or properties. And it's a pretty neat business because it uses an online platform for listing and communication. So just like any online business, you can also manage it anywhere as long as you're connected to the internet. By the way, did you know that according to the 2021 statistics, the average monthly earnings of an Airbnb host in the US is around $13,800? However, this is not passive income. Hosts still need to manage their properties in order for them to continue making profits. So if you want to experience both location freedom and passive earning with your Airbnb, you need to automate it. How to automate your Airbnb Here are some tips to help your Airbnb run on autopilot: 1. Do not clean it on your own Don't try to save money by cleaning your own property. If your goal is to be truly independent with your business, you need to add a cleaning crew to do the work for you. 2. Don't meet every guest in person Most people just want to experience your Airbnb and it's unnecessary to meet them in person sometimes. This is why you need to set up a keyless entry for the entrance and exit of each and every guest. 3. Do not micromanage your guests Allow the guests to have their own experience. Sure they'll want to be checked on from time to time but you also don't want to overdo it to the point that they feel like you're managing their every move. 4. Automate your nightly rate You can use sites like Beyond Pricing to look at airlines, hotels, and events in your area. This will automate your pricing to create a competitive rate for your Airbnb. These are just some of the most important tips you can use to help your Airbnb run smoother without dealing with the stress of management. And with a fully automated Airbnb business, you can now start earning passive income, wherever you are in the world. Red is great and so is Green, your responsibility is to ride the winning trend. The trend is your friend. Here is the strategy that I teach to my most timid and cautious traders, I call it the 1% forex trading strategy, where I ask people just like you to imagine earning 1% of whatever they have in your savings per day! Let me make it easier: $1,000 on trade yields 1% =$10 3 times a day $30 3 times a week $90 I won’t even add the compound interest on the growth but if I did this 4 weeks per month it would mean my $1,000 generated $360 or 36% growth in 30 days. Being busy means truly little in trading, what is more, important is your ability to select winning trades and having the patience and discipline of knowing when to enter and exit a trade. Also, minimise your losses and maximise your wins. Meaning Losing is part of trading! As an achiever, accepting losing is tough, and many people entwin losing trades with failure, which is so wrong. • Riding The Storm Of Scepticism And Apathy For Innovators, Entrepreneurs And Pioneers

Written by: David Paul Jacobs, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. If you’ve ever had a good idea or vision for a new service, product or better way of doing something, you will likely be familiar with the “Not Invented Here” syndrome: the pushback, the blank faces and the virulently anti-your-idea comments. Well, this reaction is par for the course, you’d better expect it … hang in there, it will come good if it’s a genuinely high-quality piece of progress you’re proposing, and you manage to ‘stay with it’. Let me explain how to manage these typical reactions, to everybody’s advantage, and especially yours! Remember, the greater your storm, the brighter your rainbow. Staying With It I’m going to focus here on the importance of belief, perseverance and resilience for anyone pioneering a new product or service. In the 1980s I discovered an ability for taking success rates and value delivered from business IT projects to a much higher level than was typically the case. In the 1990s I wrote up these ideas and formed them into what is now called Business Value Maximisation Framework (BVMF®). For 28 years I had blank faces and people saying: “You don’t want to do that” or “It won’t work”. And of course, thankfully, I had the occasional bit of positivity and encouragement from those with a decent bit of insight and brainpower ‒ God bless ‘em! In fact, BVMF® was EXACTLY what was needed as business IT projects were failing at a huge rate (and still do). Then, as we went from 2020 into early 2021, the whole paradigm changed. I started hearing “You know that framework of yours, it’s not bad, can I/we have a look?” ‒ “I’ve been trying to tell you that for 28 years!” I thought to myself but was nevertheless grateful my message was finally getting across. A Better Future BVMF® is now taking off I am pleased and proud to say. I was near paranoid for those 28 years that somebody else would zoom past me. But they didn’t. In some ways the world moves increasingly fast, and yet, in other respects, it moves surprisingly slowly. People can take a long time to ‘get’ a few simple messages. I had read Sir James Dyson’s autobiography and seen how brutally rude people (especially Hoover and Electrolux) were to him when he conceived a whole new (quantum leap) way for a vacuum cleaner to work. There are always those who have a vested interest in the status quo technology or current method for a product or service. Don’t let that put you off! Here’s the big idea for you – the better your idea/proposal for a new product/service/method the more virulent the pushback comments you will get. In fact, you will know how good your idea is by the virulence of the pushback! I can’t guarantee you any particular result as I don’t know what you’ve got but I can tell you my story and how closely it aligns with what I’ve read and learnt about the experiences of other inventors, pioneers, entrepreneurs and innovators. Belief Rocks Stay with it if you believe in your idea or proposition (your extensive self-belief will be crucial). Also, bear in mind that, although collaboration can be a good thing, if you are insightful enough to be the leader in a field (maybe you have conceived a quantum leap forward in a technology or new service as Sir James Dyson did) you may find others are just not up with you. I looked (naively?) for a collaborator for many years to help me get BVMF® off the ground but found no one who would/could/did. Now BVMF® is rolling out, I have met a superb collaborator, but that’s a different story, another good story I am delighted to say. I also have accrued plenty of excellent disciples and complementary collaborators along the way who are kindly helping me to bring much better project success rates and degrees of success to business IT projects (see www.DoITBetterConsortium.co.uk). Persistence Pays So, what else can you do to have your idea become a success apart from being aware of ‘The Pushback Effect’ and that you may need to stay with it for years, even decades? Well, I’ll come back to this subject in future articles but for now please read a bit more here on the central themes I want to focus on today: persistence, belief and resilience. It’s almost apocryphal (but not quite) but Colonel Sanders offered his chicken recipe to about 1,000 restaurants before he found one that would give it a try. Tony Robbins says people say they have tried something a hundred times to no avail, but actually they’ve tried it only a few dozen times. All the success experts say persistence is the key, and they are right. I kept going for 28 years because I believed what I had was valuable, I enjoyed creating it and thought I was good at it. Why wouldn’t I keep going? A couple of nice (and smart) people I met at a conference last year in London said I was ‘too early’ with my business value maximisation framework in the 1990s and I really appreciated those comments because it seemed they were right (even though experiencing 25+ years of doubt is pretty painful). At some points along the way, I had thought maybe I was actually too late and, in any case, suffered from doubt with so many people piling in with their derogatory or discouraging comments. Some of those people genuinely thought they were helping but, as has been said, nobody knows your idea, your market and your context as well as YOU. Tough and often lonely I am sorry to say, but true. So, here we are in 2023 and my conception is becoming a reality. I just wanted to help organisations understand IT value, what it consists of and how to optimise it, and here I am doing it (finally). Hooray. You can read about BVMF® and my journey with it at www.maximum-value.co.uk. In future articles, if readers are keen (do let me know), I will cover a few of the basic principles of BVMF® and showcase some of the key models and techniques it provides. These do not just apply to business-related IT, although, of course, in any case, business IT is becoming hugely more prevalent in our home and work life as every day passes. Although I designed BVMF® specifically to boost business IT projects, a good 70% of it works for non-business IT projects (for example scientific, medical, aerospace, etc.) and ditto for projects that are not IT-related at all. Future Articles Being a bit of a polymath, I have a few other ideas up my sleeve for improving life, career, etc that I have had gestating for a few years and I will also be writing about these in my forthcoming Brainz articles. I coach and mentor life and career skills using my (near) encyclopaedic knowledge of most of the well (and lesser) known success/leadership experts’ assertions. And, hey, surprise surprise, I have devised quite a few original models and techniques of my own. I’d like to present some of the key points of those to you in future articles. I’ll cover subjects like leadership, confidence, innovation, career progression, collaboration, networking and resilience. My imminently next article will extend the themes I’ve discussed above and cover a few of the subtler less obvious angles. Courage With Care Counts Finally, a word of caution. When pioneering, I suggest you do not be ashamed of your courage, but, be careful. Until quite recently I did not put my business value maximisation credentials on my cv (not fully). You tell me – was that right? I was warned not to put it on when I sought ‘day job’ work to pay my mortgage and look after my family while my favoured project took off. I saw plenty of evidence of the sagacity of that advice… the balance is fine, crucial and knotty. I’ll also in future cover key points on getting hired into ‘day job’ work with pioneering in the background as that can be a can of worms. You can see my eclectic background and some of my credentials listed at www.davidpjacobs.co.uk, read about BVMF® at www.maximum-value.co.uk and see an overview of my cooperative superior business IT services organisation at www.DoITBetterConsortium.co.uk. • Building Enterprise Resilience To Withstand The Next Crisis With Enterprise Risk Management

Written by: Christopher Thackray, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. We live in an era defined by going from one crisis to another with little time to recover between crises. After two challenging and uncertain years of a widely unanticipated global pandemic, companies have once again been thrust into responding to the severe and lasting impacts of the worst geopolitical crisis since the end of the Cold War era, prompting the end of a market rally that first originated in the aftermath of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. The rate of deterioration in global markets throughout 2022 was unexpected for many companies and central banks. The impact of the war in Ukraine, the global economic slowdown, rapid and unprecedented changes in US and European (including UK) monetary policy and accelerating wage and input cost inflation have recast the prominent role of Enterprise Risk Management for companies of all sizes, complexities, and industries. With each passing crisis, tangible objectives of Enterprise Risk Management are becoming further ingrained in corporate strategy planning and governance. Adding to the circumstances is the revolutionary influence of digitalisation and social change on the competitive forces and day-to-day functioning of well-established industries and companies, from Healthcare to Power and Financial Services. Building forward-looking, data-rich, and integrated practices of Enterprise Risk Management into strategy planning, financial management and operational delivery is a strategic commitment for any company. It often requires a multi-year investment, an unmistakable and unquestionable ‘tone from the top’, and changes to a corporate culture quite often. Whilst the ambition for more advanced practices of Enterprise Risk Management is desirable for most companies, such aspirations are often considered to come with a high cost and, therefore, de-prioritised against the backdrop of capital and resource investments into revenue-generating initiatives. If this sounds like your company, do not worry. Practical lessons can be learnt from past crisis events to help all companies, regardless of size, complexity, and industry, to improve the awareness, management, monitoring and governance of enterprise risks. Taking these steps will allow management and board members to optimise the use of existing capital and resource investments to mitigate critical risks considered to present the most significant harm to the company, its investors, clients, customers, and other vital stakeholders. Taking The First Steps Towards Enterprise Risk Management A common objective of Enterprise Risk Management is to build, test, monitor, and govern a company’s enterprise resilience. This means a company’s preparedness and ability to detect, prevent, respond to, and recover from all forms of disruptions, whether internal or external, unforeseen or not. This requires an understanding of ‘what could go wrong’, which is a simple way of asking, what are the risks to our company? A common challenge with many Enterprise Risk Management is the creation of never-ending risk registers containing thousands of risks listing endless possibilities of what could go wrong. To avoid repeating this mistake and focus the company on preparing for the next crisis, narrow the focus to identify ‘critical’ risks, the risks that threaten the continuing viability of the company, its strategy, financial performance, or operational delivery. Here are some suggestions for anticipating and preparing for the next crisis event. Identify Critical Risks Of Strategic Importance. Utilise an existing senior management meeting to brainstorm and prioritise critical internal and external risks to the company. Try to avoid considering the probability of each risk at this stage. Plot each critical risk to one or more strategic objectives within the company’s business strategy and plan. Utilise a simple prioritisation method (e.g., n/3) to identify critical risks requiring more urgent management attention and appoint a management owner to each prioritised risk. Encourage management members to engage their departmental staff before the meeting. Be clear in setting management expectations to fully understand each new and emerging critical risk's characteristics. It is important to consider potential ‘black swan’ events (events that are unexpected and carry a significant level of harm), though try to encourage an initial focus on practical, high-impact, and visible risks. Target outcome: critical risks to the company’s strategy and plan and a shortlist of critical risks for management action and ongoing corporate oversight. Assess And Manage Critical Risks Undertake a high-level analysis of each prioritised critical risk. Consider the various impacts the risk could have on the company, including the business strategy, business model, financial outlook, and operations. Evaluate whether the risk will likely occur in the next 12 months (or sooner), 24 months or beyond. For critical risks where it is not possible to determine the probability, such as risks that are unpredictable yet potentially detrimental (e.g., a pandemic), consider the speed at which the risk could materialise and for the potential impacts to cause significant harm to the company and its important stakeholders. For each critical risk, explore the following questions: Is it in the company’s interests, or the interests of its investors, clients, customers, suppliers, or other vital stakeholders, to enhance management actions intended to improve the company’s preparedness and ability to detect and prevent the risk from materialising? Could the materialisation of the risk and any associated impacts cause a moral or ethical dilemma for the company? How could investors, clients, customers, and other important stakeholders respond to the materialisation of the risk or any associated impacts? Could the materialisation of the risk cause significant or lasting reputational harm or lead to the loss of current or new business? Are current processes and controls adequate to detect, prevent or mitigate the full extent of the risk or the most harmful impacts of the risk? Target outcome: an assessment of the potential strategic, financial, business model and operational impacts of each critical risk, combined with a view of required business practices to mitigate the risk. Assign Action-Oriented Risk Management Working Groups The art of effective Enterprise Risk Management in any organisation is to embed risk management activities into day-to-day business activities. Companies seeking to achieve a more advanced stature of Enterprise Risk Management often require changes to business planning practices, business model structures, operational processes, and governance frameworks. To minimise costs and avoid distracting staff from their day-to-day activities, consider establishing working groups for each critical risk, consisting of cross-departmental staff with the required subject and technical knowledge to direct the company’s ongoing management and monitoring of the risk. Establish clear objectives that articulate the company’s desired capability to prevent or mitigate the risk. Set tactical goals for each consecutive quarter aligned with the management’s stated objectives. And encourage each working group to meet regularly, with the frequency defined relative to the nature, complexity, probability, and potential harm caused by the risk. Essential requirements to guide each working group include: A short, focused charter setting out the working group’s objectives, composition, roles and responsibilities, and meeting frequency. A simple project plan setting out the group’s activities and interdependencies. Activities might be divided between tactical activities intended to provide immediate support whilst more permanent activities are implemented. Defined methods, data sources (internal and external) and activities to periodically re-assess and proactively monitor risk characteristics and probability changes. Target outcome: a targeted plan of activities to manage and monitor each critical risk, supported by a cross-departmental working group bringing together the required subject expertise. Integrate Risk Oversight Into Existing Corporate Governance Channels Allocate or extend by thirty minutes each board meeting to hear from appointed management members the progress made in addressing each critical risk. Encourage management members to report on improvements made in detecting, preventing, responding to, and recovering from the extent of disruption likely to be caused by the materialisation of each risk. Board members should remember that Enterprise Risk Management is a commitment to continuous evolution. As the understanding of risks evolves, so should the practices deployed to prevent or mitigate such risks. In this vein, the board should challenge management’s understanding of critical risks (including potential harms and impacts) and management’s decision on whether to pivot or persevere with current risk management practices and targeted improvements. Target outcome: regular challenge of current and planned management actions intended to prepare the company’s strategic, business model, financial and operational resilience to withstand the next crisis. Conclusion Every company is in the business of managing risk. As companies embrace the technology revolution, adapt to changes in global markets and adjust to a new normal ‒ defined by going from one crisis to the next – management and board members must explore ways to evolve the integration of Enterprise Risk Management and resilience practices into the functioning of the company. Building a business model exhibiting the highest standards of enterprise resilience for some companies will require dedicated management focus and continuous capital investments in Enterprise Risk Management. For other companies, particularly those at the beginning of their Enterprise Risk Management journey, starting small and simple will provide a platform to evolve the integration of risk management in a manner that is fit for purpose and embedded into the strategy and functioning of the company. There is always opportunity in a crisis. But it takes being prepared to anticipate and realise it. Is your company resilient to withstand the next crisis? In the current operating environment, defined by a new normal, it is not a question of if but when disruptions will occur due to materialised risks. • 2023 Predictions ‒ Strengths, Leadership And Employee Experience

Written by: Trudy Bateman, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. We’re sure you have big plans for 2023, but before we forget 2022, let’s take a moment to consider the lessons we learned last year and the foundations they provide for the year ahead. What did 2022 teach us? The importance of good mental health this year has continued to be a vital pillar not only for individuals, but for employers and education providers too. In the workplace, many employees are still expected to increase productivity constantly. Put together with other stresses, it’s no wonder that many of us have felt burnt out. 2022 re-focused our energies on how we can get better at supporting others in the workplace during challenging times. For us, it boils down to: Creating purposeful employee wellness programs that go beyond a tick in a box Making self-awareness every individual’s responsibility and evoking a be kind culture Encouraging employees to be their authentic selves, by leaders setting the example Demonstrating reasons for employees to feel psychologically safe, through an individual’s actions, and not objectives alone Supporting managers to not only spot the signs of burnout but by providing them with practical steps to follow What will 2023 bring? The latter half of 2022 bore witness to huge layoffs in the tech industry and the start of a recession for many that have been expected for some time. As we enter 2023, we highlight our top five predictions and insights for what we should be focusing on and the strengths we might call on to do it. 1. Human-centric leadership: Putting your people first will be key to making them feel valued, safe, and able to be their best. Human-centric leaders will: Treat people like individuals, by getting to know your employees and their emotions and reactions. You can then take great leadership and development ideas and make them personal to those you lead, allowing everyone to highlight their strengths and achieve success Genuinely show you care by focusing on well-being in addition to performance and build relationships that create trust as well as support Be purposeful by being clear and passionate on the vision and encouraging everyone to contribute individually, as a team, and as an organisation to something bigger and meaningful 2. Manage change effectively: Change is inevitable for 2023; globally, we’ve seen huge economic turmoil resulting in big changes to every business size. What’s important is managing transformation effectively to avoid employee fatigue: Be open and honest, build trust, and share what you can when you can. Check for learned behavior use and support managers to look out for the well-being of their teams Consider specific strengths use; those with Planner, Prevention, and Organiser may not like change as much as those with more motivating strengths. Get people working together using their strengths to make change happen Engage people with the purpose of the change, to get buy-in that’s sustainable 3. Build resilience in the face of redundancy: Whether you’re an individual or an employer, resilience will be an important strength to build for the road ahead. For organisations, during periods of change, appreciate the wins and celebrate successes with individuals and teams to regularly build in time for what’s going right and well. Get managers to check in regularly on how they are feeling and what resources or conversations would help people feel more able to cope For employees left behind following redundancy or restructuring, the impact will be felt due to gaps in their teams, and the expectation to keep up the same productivity levels. Speak to your employees, identify areas of growth and opportunities, and encourage them to use their strengths to get there For individuals, try to grasp the future opportunities of change, how you might grow, create new products, or learn to serve your customers better. For those who are made redundant, it can be an upsetting and stressful time. If you’re caught up in redundancy, use this period to reassess career goals, explore new opportunities and think about what really makes you happy in a role 4. Encourage authenticity at work: Employees need to feel psychologically safe to be their authentic selves. We encourage you to: Celebrate strengths, discuss weaknesses because no one is perfect, and leaders should role model the approach of working collaboratively as a team Promote inclusivity in the workplace, by continually finding ways to celebrate each other’s differences and ensuring increased visibility for opportunities and events Encourage leaders to role model behaviours. It isn’t enough to ask employees to be their authentic selves at work, they need leaders to lead by example to see authentic leadership in action Promote a fail-fast-to-learn-fast mentality. Encourage honesty about what didn’t work and open discussion to drive innovation. Be open and build trust to give things a go 5. Put the spotlight on wellbeing: Wellbeing and mental health will always be important; it is vital that employees know their well-being is a priority, especially if they’re having to pick up more work or are facing periods with little work to engage them. Prioritise wellbeing by: Allowing flexibility. Good managers will appreciate that what works for one person, may not work for another. So, allow your employees to work flexibly, based on how, when, and where they do their best work Prioritise work/ life balance and family. Ensure your employees feel supported to get the balance they need. Leaders can set the example by leaving work on time, taking lunch breaks and taking time off when they need it Provide practical support. Don’t just leave it to chance, ensure resources and practical advice, networks, and communities are available to support people to focus on their wellbeing. • Does Your Coaching Business Have These 4 Key Elements For Success?

Written by: Karen Cappello, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. You are a coach. You love what you do. Your business is established. And you have substantial goals. You want to make an impact and you want to grow your business – without the hustle or hard work. Maybe you think your strategy for success is spot on, yet you aren’t seeing the results you would like. What gives? At times, it may even feel like you’ve hit a plateau on your success path. It's possible what has produced results in your coaching business in the past isn’t working anymore. Let's stop guessing what actions might be the most effective to get you to your goals. Instead, I have 4 key elements that will provide you with the clarity to bring you closer to the success you deserve. You must decide on: Your Ideal Client Their Urgent Challenge Their Desired Result Your Irresistible Offer And of course, the overarching umbrella of all of these is your own authentic essence energy. When strategy meets energy, success with ease and joy follows! 1. Your Ideal Client Do you know who your ideal client is? Can you describe them? In order to have a successful coaching business, you must be able to identify your ideal client and market to them. Here’s a tip to make that easier: Your ideal client is you at an earlier stage. Or you could even look at your ideal client as a current favorite client. You can factually identify this person. Create a written description of them with these criteria in mind. What are the qualities and qualifications of this person? Be as SPECIFIC as you can when you write them down. 2. Your Ideal Client’s Urgent Challenge There’s a reason your ideal client needs you as a coach. Do you know that reason? Think of an urgent challenge you can help them solve. Here are some examples: Your challenge before your transformation Industry experiences you’ve had overcoming challenges What keeps them up at night Identifying their urgent challenge will help you speak directly to them and – yes – it also creates space to help solve this challenge! 3. Your Ideal Client’s Desired Result Your ideal client wants results. The desired result may be tangible ROI (time saved, money saved, or money to be earned). It’s also possible they are seeking an intangible result. Identify what your client wants, and you’ll be ready to create an offer they can’t refuse. 4. Your Irresistible Offer Sometimes, even though coaches have an idea of their ideal client, the ideal client’s challenge, and desired results, it’s the offer that keeps their coaching business from massive success. First and foremost, your ideal client has to want to invest in your offer. It’s equally important that you provide options for investment. Here are some questions to ask yourself about your offer: Is your offer irresistible to your ideal client? Will they invest? Is their challenge something they are really, really concerned about now? Is their desired result something they really, really want? Is this something that you are happy about delivering that is priced correctly for your business model? Will this offer help you meet your goals? You'll save so much time when you know EXACTLY what is driving the success you desire in your coaching business. Final Thoughts I‘ve had the honor of working with so many talented business coaches just like you who want to unleash their coaching success. They’re tired of the guesswork and the misses. • 7 Pro Tips To Stay Competitive As A Creative

Written by: Chrissy Metge, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Up-to-date branding: As a creative, you are often at the front of what you do, which means people want to see you. This means photographs of yourself. It's better to lead the way with the pictures you want on the internet than some random photos that people grab off your social media. Getting a professional photo can seem daunting, but it makes a big difference. You don't need to spend a fortune on this or get dozens. Aim for 2-5 high-quality photographs to get you going and get new ones every 3-5 years. This keeps you and your branding fresh. Knowing about the latest trends within your field: You don't have to have in-depth knowledge about every topic, but you need to know about the latest trends. AI right now is a massive topic in the creative sector that is touching almost every business. Listen to podcasts or read some articles; this allows you to enter conversations and build relationships. Social and being interactive in like-minded communities: You need to be present; out of sight, out of mind is a real thing. People will forget to include you or recommend you to new clients if you are not around. The new year is a perfect time to do this, loop back to your clients from last year, wish them a Happy New Year, or if you have completed a project, send them the latest work you have done or your updated portfolio. Are there new events taking place or cafe chats? Attend any social gatherings to build those relationships and talk about what you are doing. Give your time willingly to up-and-coming students, schools, and communities: Being generous with your time to those starting out is great for a fresh perspective and keeping you grounded; it's also good for your reputation. These communities talk, and who you are will spread quickly, especially if you do a good job. Get in touch with your local universities, colleges and schools and offer to be a guest lecturer. Go to your local community centre or library and offer to do workshops. Get out there and be seen. Be approachable: The foundation of building good relationships is being approachable. Then ideas and trust can grow. How do you achieve this? Adopt open body language, make eye contact, smile and create space. If that's not working, try wearing something that sparks a conversation or bring in something for morning or afternoon tea to have an excuse to hang out. Ask questions and keep learning: This also ties in with keeping up with the latest trends. Asking questions is another way to show people you are engaged with what they are saying and contributing to being part of a team. By asking questions, it is also important to know what your project is missing or to create a space for others to speak. Learning is vital, we are naturally curious, and our brains need to be utilised. This can be short courses, nonfiction books, articles or attending seminars. As creatives, we must keep our minds fed with new and innovative ideas. Give yourself space to be a creative: As a creative, we need to fill our well to be inspired, and if you don't create space for this, you will find yourself unmotivated and lacking in new ideas or enthusiasm. It helps if you book ways to fill your inspiration in advance and give you something to look forward to, whether it's that trip to a museum or art gallery to see a new exhibition coming up, or to the theatre or even a trip overseas, put them into the calendar. Also, be aware of how often you need to do this. If you need something every other day, go for a walk at lunchtime and try a new cafe or visit your local bookshop to get inspiration quickly in other ways. • How To Start Your Personal Development Journey

Written by: Veronica Sanchez De Darivas, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Personal development is a concept that has become fashionable in recent years and that implies a series of advantages for our internal and external progress. Personal development can be defined as the process of taking the necessary steps to become the best version of yourself. It is about growing in all areas of life to reach your true potential, which involves making conscious decisions that positively affect your mental, emotional and physical state. When we are able to develop our skills and knowledge and cultivate our inner being or our soul, we can be more successful and live a meaningful life. There are many tools available to help us on our personal development journey, we will discuss a few here. Self-reflection Self-reflection is the act of reflecting on oneself, it helps us to observe our behavior and our attitudes, making us understand how our actions and decisions affect not only ourselves, but also those around us. It is very useful to reflect on a regular basis to assess how you are progressing and which areas of your life need more attention. To practice self-reflection, you can take a moment each day or once a week and consider the following questions: What did I achieve today or this week? What did I do well? What could I have done better? What areas of my life are causing me stress? How can I improve my general well-being? Goal setting Setting goals and objectives help us to stay motivated, even more, without goals, it is easy to feel like we are not moving forward and give up. There are a few things we need to keep in mind when setting goals and objectives. First, make sure your goals are realistic, because it is not helpful to set goals that are impossible to achieve. Although, deep down, most things are possible, we must be honest with ourselves and know what we can and want to achieve and when. Second, set specific goals, as vague or unclear goals are more difficult to achieve. Finally, write down your objectives and goals and save that writing in a place where you can see it often, as this will help you stay on track. Positive Thinking and Feeling Positive thinking is very helpful in assisting us deal with difficult situations and events in our daily lives. However, thinking positively is not enough, because many times when thinking positive we are not feeling that way, rather we tend to feel thoughts that are not so good much more. I always mention that it is not about not having negative thoughts or emotions, because that is impossible in this physical plane of separated poles, rather is about to take into account those emotions and thoughts and then be able to elevate our vibration to a slightly higher point, which allows us to observe ourselves and from there find solutions and act. One way to start this practice is to develop the ability of observing our thoughts and emotions and here self-reflection can help us greatly. In addition, being aware of the power of words will make us advance even further on the path of self-knowledge. In this sense, one way to activate positivity in us is to repeat affirmations that empower and motivate us. But, we cannot forget that repetition must be accompanied by feeling. Meditation Meditation is an excellent tool to calm the mind, to help us stay focused and productive and, of course, to advance internally, that is, spiritually. In its simplest form, meditation is concentrating on a single thought, sound, or sensation, and guided meditations are extremely helpful in this regard. Meditation gives us the ability to really pay full and conscious attention to the now, to the present moment. It is scientifically proven that meditating reduces stress, anxiety, depression and pain. Meditation also improves memory, creativity and emotional self-regulation. Personal Development Books Personal development books offer advice and guidance on how to achieve our personal, spiritual, and professional goals. Reading this type of books can serve as a guide in various aspects of life, as they bring along valuable teachings that, if put into practice, can change our lives for the better. Many of these books focus on developing leadership skills and success in life. Other books focus on developing creativity, overcoming adversity, and personal motivation. Other books tell us about the soul and spirit, teach us how to meditate and live in the present moment. No matter what the subject of a personal development book is, they all have the potential to transform the lives of those who read them and put their teachings into practice. Courses and workshops Attending courses and workshops that help us acquire new knowledge and discover our abilities is highly recommended in our personal journey. These courses not only affect our self-esteem and confidence for the better, but also help us find our purpose in life. In a personal development course, we can learn useful tools that help us achieve the objectives and goals that we have set for ourselves. With this type of courses we can also obtain a greater knowledge of ourselves and of others, making our personal relationships full of understanding, respect and love. Finally, I must say that starting the path of developing your inner and outer persona can be intimidating, but it does not have to be. The first step is to identify what areas of your life you want to focus on, once you have identified these areas, you can create a plan that will help you achieve your goals and objectives. It is helpful and advisable to create a support system and perhaps find a mentor or coach. You should also make sure to set aside time each day to focus on your chosen development activities. Personal development is self-care and is a continuous journey. Taking the necessary steps to start the journey and use the available tools requires will, commitment and consistency. Only then can we move towards achieving our goals, only then can we know ourselves and expand in all areas of our lives.
