Written by: Anna Frummerin, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Coaching is becoming increasingly popular and companies worldwide are investing in either having an in-house coach or outsourcing one to help their employees perform better. One of the common misunderstandings about coaching is that it is only for those people who are broken and need to be fixed. Well, that is not the case at all. Coaching is about helping you discover and become aware of your hidden potential so that you know exactly what you need to do in order to move to a new level not just in your career/business but also in other areas of life such as wealth, health and relationship. Here are 3 proven coaching tips which help you do just that. 1. Generate Clarity: CHUNKING is a powerful Coaching Technique that helps you achieve Clarity. Clarity is Power. The clearer you are with your communication, planning and delegation, the better your colleagues understand the connection of their individual roles with the higher purpose of the organization. Having Clarity also drastically reduces the number of problems that could occur. 2. Replicate Excellence In Any Field: MODELING is a powerful Coaching technique which allows you to replicate the thinking, behavior and strategies of the people who have already achieved the results you want to produce in your field. This super-charges your employees’ productivity and dramatically shortens the time required to produce results as you are following a proven path. 3. Understanding How People Communicate Differently: Did you know that every single person has a different way of communicating and understanding things? The topic of MODEL OF COMMUNICATION explains how our inner thoughts, focus and behaviors result from not what goes around us but how we interpret it inside our own minds. This means each of your employees sees the world differently and interprets it differently. - US Justice Department Blocks Penguin Random House Merger
Written by: Katie Scott, Business Reporter The $2.2bn proposed merger between publishing giants Penguin Random House (PRH) and Simon & Schuster has been blocked by a US judge. In a move that will be celebrated by the Biden administration, Judge Florence Pan of the US district court for the District of Columbia said that she believed that the Justice Department had proved that the deal would “substantially” harm competition “in the market for the US publishing rights to anticipated top-selling books”. The Justice Department’s argument centred upon the potential impact of author’s pay for their works. The competition for works currently drives up advances for authors, including those bestselling writers who were paid $250,000 or more. It pointed to examples of titles that had come about after a bidding war between PRH and Simon & Schuster. This was supported by a number of authors who took to the stand. World-renowned author Stephen King told the court: “You might as well say you’re going to have a husband and wife bidding against each other for the same house. It’s kind of ridiculous. Consolidation is bad for competition.” He followed his court appearance with an interview with the New York Times in which he stated he “...delighted with the outcome.” He added: “Further consolidation would have caused slow but steady damage to writers, readers, independent booksellers, and small publishing companies,” he said. “Publishing should be more focused on cultural growth and literary achievement and less on corporate balance sheets.” In contrast, reports The Guardian: “Executives from PRH and Simon & Schuster argued that bidding wars between the two companies were infrequent, and claimed that the merger would actually benefit writer pay, because it would lead to savings and allow them to spend more on books.” In a statement, PRH called the decision “an unfortunate setback for readers and authors”. It stated that the Justice Department’s “focus on advances to the world’s best-paid authors instead of consumers or the intense competitiveness in the publishing sector runs contrary to its mission to ensure fair competition”. It has stated an intention to appeal the decision.

The Ralph Lauren collection of digital skins and accessories will be available on 5th November while a second physical merchandise drop will take place on 1st December. Vogue adds: “Prices for both the physical and digital pieces are in line with existing standards (bundles range from 1300 to 1500 Vbux, or $10.39 to $11.99, and accessories can be purchased individually), with the physical pieces ranging from $59.50 to $188.” Fortnite currently boasts more than 400 million user accounts globally. Its past partnerships have included Moncler and Balenciaga. Lauren added: “Our partnership represents a completely fresh take on the Ralph Lauren brand – designing for the metaverse first – that is thoroughly focused on the future. We are excited to continue to lead digital exploration, building on our decades-long track record of pioneering innovation.”
- Marketing Mate Founder James Shockley Helps Business Owners Automate Processes Effortlessly
Written by: James Foo Torres, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. One of the most intractable challenges of running a business is figuring out how to manage your organization without allowing repetitive, manual tasks from eating up valuable time and bogging you down. To meet this challenge, James Shockley has developed an end-to-end set of customized workflows he calls Marketing Mate. While many software companies answer these common needs with expensive software platforms such as resource planning and customer relationship management platforms, Shockley has taken a more practical and innovative approach. “Rather than force my customers to have to hire programmers to create customized workflows, Marketing Mate is built on customized scripts which can be repurposed to meet a virtually infinite variety of processes,” he says. “One of the most difficult projects anyone can take on is setting up a CRM to meet your specific requirements. We do the entire design, set up, and testing of a CRM tailored to our customers’ needs for them. Then it runs flawlessly forever.” Unlike the approach used by Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, and other CRM vendors, Marketing Mate leverages activities already in place in the vast majority of businesses, such as text messaging, calendaring, and back office services. The breakthrough strategy which makes it work reliably and seamlessly, he says, is thanks to the ubiquitous nature of texting or SMS (Short Messaging Service). The workflows which form the basis for the Marketing Mate solutions are based on the power of texting to communicate marketing messages while capturing and managing prospect data. Even more compelling, Shockley adds, is that due to the “zero-code” nature of the components of his system, pricing of Marketing Mate as a monthly service is extremely affordable and downright cheap in comparison to other CRM, ERP, and marketing automation solutions. “The super high open rate of text messages, well over 95%, make it the ideal vehicle for reaching out to prospects and interacting with customers,” he says. Founded just four months ago in early 2022, Marketing Mate is the outgrowth of a digital marketing agency Shockley has operated for over four years. It was while encouraging his clients to add SMS to their marketing programs that Shockley discovered how underserved this need was by technology providers. “Setting up an internal system such as a sales pipeline, a CRM, or a calendaring application to handle a text messaging campaign is a major software development project,” Shockley states. “What Marketing Mate does is provide lead management and customer communications systems tailored to the exact needs of the marketer. It essentially serves as a marketing assistant to your whole team.” “For decades there has existed a wide spectrum of solutions for managing telemarketing and email marketing for businesses to select from,” says James Shockley, founder and CEO of Marketing Mate. “Text message marketing is comparatively still in its infancy so there is an absence of tools and platforms for automating the handling of SMS as a communication choice for businesses.” In explaining how the cloud-based, subscription service works, he likens it to a series of customized workflows which he calls “smart pipelines”. Being that a large percentage of leads today arrive through websites, Marketing Mate automatically captures each one as a database entry and channels them through a pre-selected process depending on the goals of the campaign. “Let’s say you want to schedule sales calls with your prospects. Marketing Mate automatically serves them up a calendar, and when they book an appointment a Zoom link is sent to both parties,” he adds. “We can also vet each lead by having them answer a series of questions to make sure they’re qualified before you invest any time.” To streamline the internal management of the Market Mate application, Shockley’s clients have access to a customized dashboard which displays the leads from the time it comes in until they convert to being a customer or for ongoing re-marketing purposes. An early adopter of Marketing Mate is Joe Beck. A sales consultant and mentor to executive coaches, Beck says it was the flexibility of the platform which made it possible for him to radically expand and more effectively manage his lead generation efforts. “I’ve been using email marketing and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for years but was unable to unify them so I could see the big picture and maximize their effectiveness,” Beck says. “From my perspective as a sales professional, Marketing Mate is a game-changer that I think will become ubiquitous in the text marketing world.” With texting now firmly established as the world’s most popular and immediate form of communication, Shockley expects the demand for solutions to automate and manage the torrent of text messages and other forms of digital marketing to grow exponentially. “It’s abundantly clear that business automation is the future. Within a few years virtually every business owner will automate every aspect of their business before they even launch,” he says. “End-to-end automation can empower businesses of all kinds to have higher productivity, better profit margins, and insanely high-quality customer service.” Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, or visit my website for more info! - How Desperate Are You?
Written by: Ocean Eagle, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. I recall many moments in my life when the pain and suffering I was allowing became so great, I was willing to do anything to change. I call it "The Gifts of Desperation". Those moments in your life when you fall to your knees and whether you believe in a God or higher power, you pray and beg for courage to walk through your fears. So, how desperate are you? Are you ready to step through the veil and see life through a new lens? How desperate are you? Do you feel like a drowning man/woman reaching for a life preserver? Are you drowning in a sea of shame, remorse, self-doubt, childhood wounding, trauma, guilt, and low self-esteem? Are you playing out your past in the now in order to ignore the necessary work needed to rise above it? Are you trapped in the vicious cycle of PTSD? Are you unable to connect on a deep level with your daughter or son? Are you unable to hold, love and protect the feminine/masculine in your life? Are you unable to set healthy boundaries and hold them? Are you allowing destructive masculine energy to control you? Are you unable to look in the mirror and love who you see? Are you lost in the ocean of this false existence and unable to see a way out? Are you numbing your feelings with alcohol, drugs, sex, media, food, and other forms of unhealthy behaviors? Are you stuck in victim mode and justifying your unhealthy behaviors because of the past you feel you didn't deserve? As a survivor who has become a “Thriver”, I learned how to Alchemize my childhood traumas and wounding into a burning flame of Inspiration and Hope for others suffering. I have deep wisdom in addiction, trauma, abandonment, and PTSD recovery. I’ve been sober from All substances for 23 years and I guide people inward through the natural breath only during my Activation Breathwork Retreats and Journeys. A journey to the center of your soul is not for the faint of heart and committing to this healing requires complete surrender and faith. We are all born self-healers, yet the world we are born into steals that truth from us at birth by poisoning us with chemicals and systematically controlled brainwashing that enslaves us. “The greatest journey you will ever know is the one you take to meet your soul!” ‒ Ocean Eagle To awaken to your truth is one thing. To follow it and walk it courageously, takes a surrender to the unknown that will forever change you. There can be no going back once this path has ben chosen and those not in resonation will simply fall away without effort. Your new family is now called in to assist you and blow wind beneath your wings. I have watched the magic appear in my life and the lives of those I guide and mentor. The world surrounding us wants to pull us back into it as we ascend upward. Old patterns and false belief systems are stubborn and were crutches that never allowed us to fly high above and witness as the eagle does. Having complete access to one’s heart and living from the “Heart Brain” sends out a frequency and vibration rooted in your truth and not how much money you can make. I’ve witnessed CEO’s I’ve worked with release their attachments to bottom lines and begin guiding their companies from a place of love and compassion. The bottom lines rose simply by caring more about their employees and the impact the company is having upon Earth. I pray you become as desperate as the drowning and surrender to YOU! - 3 Reasons This Recession Is The Best Time To Quit Your Job And Start A Business
Written by: Stacey Marmolejo , Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Have you been dreaming of owning your own business but never dared to take the leap? Your job is too good to leave but not good enough to want to stay. Don’t wait until you're laid off to start the business of your dreams. Do it now so you’re ready to employ the laid-off workers when they are looking for a new job. 2022 has already seen a wave of layoffs caused by slower-than-predicted business growth and rising labor costs. The layoffs have spanned across many industries and the forecast for next year isn’t any better. Financial experts are coaching their clients with the traditional methods of protecting their money: Beef up your “emergency fund,” remove all “unnecessary” spending (like Netflix subscription, your lawn mowing service), strengthen your job network, find out how your severance package works and review your equity and stock options.) This is a very defensive posture. Instead, why not take an offensive approach? Many people think a job is secure. The challenge with that is you don’t know who is on the chopping block until you get the call to come to the conference room at 4:00 pm on a Friday. As you enter the room you see the H.R. manager there with a stack of papers in front of her and your direct supervisor looking down at the table. At that time you know you are about to be laid off. When you own your own business, you see the storm brewing on the horizon and you can take steps to protect yourself. In other words, not knowing does NOT equate to job security, Several industries do well during a recession. During a recession, the first thing people cut back on is nonessential goods. Businesses like restaurants, fashion retailers, and other consumer goods are likely to take a hit. However, industries that do well in a recession includes: healthcare alcohol discount retailers child-related products/services pet industry financial industry tech support Repairs As a friend of mine says, ”The dirtier the job, the more money to be made.” You may be thinking, “I don’t want to get dirty.” If that’s you, reframe that thought. YOU don’t have to get dirty. You need to hire people who will get dirty. Imagine owning a “pooper scooper” business. Yes, you could scoop poop. Or you could be responsible for marketing, sales, and operations and hire people to do the doody work. Would it surprise you to learn that you can earn a 6-figure net income on a business that picks up poop? Or what about a restoration business? Do you think if someone has a pipe burst in their house and the lower level floods that they aren’t going to get that repaired because they’re in a recession? Of course, they'll get it repaired. How about a restoration business? Don’t know anything about these industries? The good news is you don’t have to. If you can follow directions, you can be successful with a franchise business model. There are over 4,000 franchise brands available, including plenty in the recession-resistant industries. Why buying a franchise now is the best strategy to combat the ramifications the recession may have on Corporate employees. Executives/Mid-level Managers can either get caught in the storm(and have to work more hours to cover for those who have been laid off or deal with being laid off themselves) or they can use this time to reinvent and reinvigorate themselves and bring a newly needed service to their community. A franchise is not only a means to employment, but it is also a long-term investment strategy. A person may choose to “buy themself their dream job,” or they may opt to divert their investment funds from the stock market and into a closer-to-home/hands-on investment like owning a franchise. Think of your first business as your starter house. Even if you can’t afford to buy your dream business right now doesn’t mean you can’t buy your own business. Think of your first business as you think of a starter house. Buy something you can afford, grow it/improve it and then flip it. As an example, you aren’t going to cut your teeth on a Ch ick-fil-a . Because so many people want one, they can be very selective about who they sell franchises to. Why buy a franchise instead of starting an independent business? Franchises are easier to get funding for. Between the SBA allocating a portion of their loans specifically for franchises and the fact that a franchise has documented financial performance, banks are more inclined to provide a loan to buy a franchise than they are to start an independent business. Franchises are less expensive to start because you skip the start-up stage . This likely seems counterintuitive because of the upfront franchise fee, but many start-up expenses that face every business have already been taken care of in the case of a franchise. (logo and brand development, marketing, and advertising campaigns, recipes tested, etc.) Also, negotiated discount pricing for the network may reduce a franchisee’s start-up expenses. Plus, since a franchise comes with a tested plan, mistakes can be avoided that could otherwise cost tens of thousands of dollars. Franchise businesses outrank independent businesses in search engines which gives them an advantage over independents. Because the majority of franchises have one website with a separate page for each owner, franchise sites generate more “google juice” than an independent start-up could do on its own. Franchises reach profitability in half the time of independent start-ups. Independent startups take three to four years to be profitable , on average while Franchises take one-to-two years to be profitable , on average. When it’s time to sell the business, a franchise is valued 10-20% more than an independent business that sells the same products/services. However, If you are dead set on starting an independent business instead of a franchise, be sure to consider these start-up tips . The third reason to start your business NOW is that fewer people are, which gives you a “first-to-market” advantage in your community. - 5 Common Mistakes People Make Following A Car Accident
A car accident is a devastating experience. You might feel shaken up and confused after an accident, which is normal. However, there are a few things you should avoid doing after a car accident. Here are five of the most common mistakes after a car accident. Not Gathering Evidence at the Scene Contact a personal injury lawyer if you have any questions about what evidence you should gather. After an accident, they can assist you in understanding your rights and options. DiamondInjuryLaw.com can help you receive compensation for damages, including medical bills, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering. If you’re involved in a car accident, it’s important to take some time to gather evidence at the scene. This may be useful if you have to make an insurance claim or file a lawsuit. Unfortunately, most people don’t take the time to do this, and it can come back to bite them later on. Here are a few things you should always try to collect after an accident: Pictures of the damage to both vehicles The other driver’s insurance information Contact information for any witnesses A police report (if one was filed) Not Calling the Police When something goes wrong, our first instinct is to try and fix the problem ourselves. But sometimes, the best course of action is to call the police. They will investigate the accident and notify your insurance company. If you don't call the police after an accident, you might be forced to pay for damages out of your pocket. The police are trained to handle difficult situations, like car accidents. The police have resources we don't, like access to information and documenting evidence. The police can help keep us safe from further harm. Admitting Fault Sometimes, admitting fault can get you in serious trouble. Before you say whether or not you’re at fault, it is advised to consult your lawyer before making any statements. You may feel responsible for the accident even though you are not at fault, and it’s vital to not take responsibility as this could make you liable when you, in fact, are the injured party. Before you say anything that points to fault, you need to contact your attorney, or find one that specializes in injury law. Not Documenting Injuries Documenting the injury as soon as you can is among the most crucial things you can do. You'd be surprised at how many people don't do this, even though it might seem obvious to do so. Documentation protects you if your insurance provider tries to deny your claim. If you don’t have any documentation, it will be a lot harder to prove that the injury you sustained during the accident is legitimate. Insurance providers occasionally attempt to reject claims despite the evidence, but it is much simpler to fight back when you have supporting evidence. Documentation helps ensure you get the compensation you deserve. If you don't have any documentation, it’s possible that your claim will get denied. Documentation also helps make sure you get the right amount of money for your injuries. Not Speaking to an Attorney If you’re facing a legal issue, the worst thing you can do is try to deal with it on your own. Many people think they can save money by not hiring an attorney, but this often costs them more in the long run. An attorney can help you: Understand the law. Know your rights. Avoid making mistakes that could cost you time and money. Resolve your legal issue without going to court. Help guide you as you determine your damages. Contact an Attorney Today It is important to avoid these common mistakes in a car accident. Have you been injured in a car accident? If so, contact a knowledgeable and experienced personal injury attorney, such as Ivan Diamond at Diamond Injury Law, and avoid the costly mistakes that can cause more injury to your case.

About 12 years ago I was introduced to the idea of microdosing. I was told that Albert Hoffman would take a microdose and think while walking in the woods. I found that microdosing had a gentle positive effect. I shared that information, got more and more curious, and did the first research study that showed it had a number of possible uses. I haven’t stopped discovering those uses ever since. I’m one of the founders of the International Microdosing Association and I have looked especially at applications for well people. That aspect is more and more popular and encourages people to be more creative, more focused, and healthier. It’s good to remember that you don’t have to be sick in order to be better. It has been a totally surprising adventure. When you were doing research at Stanford, what did you learn about how psychedelics could enhance one’s creativity? The last psychedelic research project I did while at Stanford looked at the question: Could an altered state brought on by taking a psychedelic be focused away from personal issues or visionary experiences towards practical scientific concerns, and could a person focus even more closely on the solution of hitherto unsolvable problems? That it worked as well as it did and that all our subjects were senior scientists throughout Silicon Valley may have done much to seed the psychedelic subculture that followed. As Steve Jobs would tell you, and Bill Gates would never admit to, psychedelics were important to both men. What they did with their own consciousness changed the world. The creativity of the ´60s, fueled in part by psychedelic experiences, helped foster the ecology movement, the social justice movement, and the women’s movement, and, to the consternation of a lot of elements of the establishment, the anti-war movement. Psychedelic research was shut down for political reasons, which allowed an enormous amount of unnecessary suffering to continue. My recently published book, Core Creativity: The Mindful Way to Unlock Your Creative Self , has a section on microdosing and creativity. You were the seminal contributor to the section and assisted me in fleshing it out with more depth, accuracy, and breath. Can you share your thoughts from the field about how psychedelic microdosing can contribute to enhancing one’s core creativity? I have few opinions on this topic, but a huge number of reports of how people’s capacity to see things differently expands when they are microdosing. In an area like machine design, for example, people can see more of the parts moving in different directions in their minds while microdosing. What’s most common is people reporting an enhanced capacity to remain in “flow” far longer and therefore move more quickly through the initial creativity necessary to do an art form or to invent a new and better method of research. It’s as if they have more control over where their mind goes and have greater energy while in a creative state. They may not reach new heights of creativity, but they make better use of their own capacities than they seem to have been able to do before. You’ve been married for decades to Dorothy, a filmmaker and a core creative. What sorts of habits do both you and Dorothy employ to work through when either one of you is feeling blocked in making a film or writing a book or article? Dorothy and I have remarkably different creative styles, especially at the beginning of a project. She will look at a problem or a wonderfully successful operation or institution and have a vision of how the core of that issue or that success could be made visual. It’s more of a feeling then an image and gradually it becomes imagery and eventually a film. Her range is amazing: from a film about a local fixit shop to a film about how the American voting system has become corrupted. I tend to have an idea, a notion, even a speculation that something might be possible or true. I tend to explore it in words. Some of these turned into a play set in Renaissance Italy, a novel about the CIA running a house of prostitution in San Francisco and secretly giving high doses of LSD to military people passing through (true story), the creation of a Graduate School devoted entirely to transpersonal psychology, and more. I don’t remember either of us ever feeling blocked, but often, incredibly frustrated for sure, which goes with the territory. Usually, time in nature and, more recently, being reminded of the present moment by our two small dogs, seem to be all we need. You’re in your 7th decade and have always had a wonderful aspect to reinventing yourself. How has creativity been a topic of interest in the foreground or background for you in your work and life? Eighth decade actually. During my seventh, my work life focused around discovery after discovery related to microdosing psychedelics and consulting to a wood pellet factory and an electric bus company. I wouldn’t call writing a leisure activity, but I did finish a long novel about Eleanor of Aquitaine who was married to the king of France and later the king of England, had nine children including Richard the Lionhearted, went along, against her husband’s wishes to one of the Crusades, and all in all was an amazing character to build a story around. I’m insatiably curious about plants, about people, about planets. I don’t ever remember starting a job that I was qualified for. The creative part was figuring out what needed to be done and what no one else was doing. I’m of the school that it’s hard not to be creative. Every time you write a letter that makes another person smile, that you cook a new food, that you discover a new author or artist, and that you realize that you’ve just thought of something you’ve never thought of before you are being creative. We enshrine creative product. I’m much more aware, especially as I’ve gotten older, of creative process. One nice thing about process is there’s no element of competition in it. Doing it is always a success. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Thank you for inviting me to be with you. Learn more about core creativity at www.CoreCreativity.com . - Metaverse Brand Manager Needed!
Written by: Sami Khan, CEO of Atlas Reality What can we expect from the future of 'The internet in 3D'? The metaverse is happening now and companies without a dedicated brand manager risk being lost without them. Fifteen years ago, no one would have predicted that every company - from Apple to your neighbor’s kid’s startup - would have a highly-skilled, highly-compensated Brand Social Media Manager. Yet that role is now a core requirement for any business striving for outsized success. And here’s why: the metaverse, in general, is promising (amongst other things) to “Provide an online experience in an almost unimaginable immersive manner.” But, will your company’s version of the Metaverse provide, specifically, what the internet doesn't, and who is going to help articulate it? Metaverse Brand Manager Needed. Immediately and Desperately. At ATLAS:EARTH, we believe, in general, that the next round of breakthrough consumer technology (augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and others), will enable a new-and-vastly-improved iteration of the Internet. And we imagine it, specifically, as “The internet experience in 3D” – an experience to deliver on the enormous untapped potential power of the metaverse. However, “with great power comes great responsibility.” And for all those companies determined to create and define the heightened and eclectic metaverse experience they’re individually striving to deliver - we’re going to need to be ready to have an entirely new breed of Brand Managers capable of handling an entirely new batch of brand opportunities and challenges. In our case, we think a metaverse mirrored on top of the real world is one of the best ways to achieve a desirable version of a 3D Internet experience. Every parcel of ATLAS:EARTH’s virtual land is mirrored on top of the real world physical property it represents, and will be gateways for a variety of “twin digital user experiences” that leverage all current and future tech breakthroughs. (At least that’s how our Brand Manager is helping to strategize and articulate how we seize our opportunities and deal with our challenges.) In each company’s case, their Metaverse Brand Manager will need to do more than just manage their brand’s social media presence; a two-dimensional role like a traditional Social Media Manager can’t keep up with the constantly expanding, ever-evolving nature of the metaverse. A Metaverse Brand Manager will need to, and be able to, go much deeper. To properly build and successfully manage an immersive metaverse experience, this new role will require (for starters) Unity game engine training as well as an extensive background in design – not unlike the UI/UX game artist roles that exist today. On top of that, a Metaverse Brand Manager will need strong marketing skills and a deft approach to human psychology to help create and articulate the immersive, authentic experiences that will form the core of the metaverse’s “new-and-improved” version of customer-brand interaction. As of right now, finding someone who can fill this role sounds might sound slightly more challenging than tracking down Bigfoot. But and as with any emerging field, the best candidates will train and flex their metaverse muscles, ready to rise mythically to the challenges and opportunities. And while none of us knows precisely what untold promises, potential, and power the metaverse will bring us in the short-and-long term future, there’s no time like the present to put “Hire a Brand Metaverse Manager” on the top of your TO DO NOW list. Author: Sami Khan Sami Khan is the co-founder and CEO of Atlas Reality, a company building real value in the virtual world. Prior to Atlas, Sami created and executed growth strategies for some of the largest digital products in the world - including the micro-investing app Acorns and the money-saving browser extension, Honey - now collectively valued at over $15bn. - 3 Keys To Building A Thriving Speaking Business
Written by: Jasmin Haley, Executive Contributor Executive Contributors at Brainz Magazine are handpicked and invited to contribute because of their knowledge and valuable insight within their area of expertise. Climbing on stage and sharing your message is not for the faint of heart. It takes guts to be seen and share your story. It also takes an immense amount of preparation, time, and effort to build your speaking brand. It takes hours of travel to reach a location, hours to prepare your presentation and present in front of an audience, and hours to speak with audience members after you leave the podium. Although it can look glamorous, speaking isn’t a glide-in, glide-out cakewalk of a job. It is about much more than building engaging presentations, delivering keynotes, and engaging your audience through storytelling. If you want to build a thriving speaking business that is sustainable, you need to look beyond just speaking to speak and get strategic. So what are the business strategies you need to utilize to create a booming speaking business? You need 3 fundamentals to create a sustainable brand with a reliable income stream. 1. Authenticity To be a successful speaker, speaking about what moves you is critical. This is why I recommend starting your speaking business with an impactful message that lights you up and allows you to stay passionate about your business. Why? When your message springs from your passion, it makes enthusiasm visible in a way that moves listeners. Audiences feel your authenticity which enhances their connection with your speaking brand. Let me say that again, authenticity is key! My advice to up and coming speakers is to drop the cookie-cutter image and the toxic push for perfection because audiences want to start and build a relationship with YOU. Who you are is what will set you apart on stage. Strategically that also means you will need to design a signature program that encompasses your mission and build offers that integrate your values & showcase your gifts. 2. Consistent Brand Positioning When starting in the speaking industry, taking any offer for a paying gig can be tempting, even when the topic isn’t aligned with your passion and topic. Unfortunately, when we speak about anything and everything, we do a disservice to our brand. Consistent positioning is how you can associate yourself with your topic and create a clear brand for organizers to refer to easily. I know many of us are multi-passionate entrepreneurs who don’t want to be limited, but you do need to showcase a consistent message to brand yourself in the minds of event planners and audiences. When I first began speaking, my passion and signature topics were centered on persons living with HIV/AIDS and how to care for them within the healthcare community. I attended and spoke at every event associated with this niche until I became synonymous with the topic. What was the result? Abundant referrals and consistent callbacks. By being consistent with my topic and messaging, I positioned my speaking brand as an authority and created a recognizable brand that gave organizers total clarity on who I served and what I could deliver to their audiences. Specificity is fundamental to your long-term speaking success, so don’t be afraid to be precise in what you represent and selective in the jobs you accept! 3. Creating Systems Of Support On stage, you can deliver keynotes that receive standing ovations, but you need a solid business foundation to build a sustainable income stream. I often witness speakers speaking everywhere with no real business strategy or support system behind their speaking brand. Over time they become overwhelmed with delivering one keynote or workshop after another while nothing sustainable is built. It’s easy to feel that lasting success is out of your reach when you're in this phase, but that isn’t the reality. If you want to succeed long-term, you need to develop the fundamental aspects of your speaking business: systems, automation, and marketing assets that support you beyond the podium. Investing in automation tools that allow you to give your clients white glove service, using a high-quality CRM like Honeybook, working with a productivity tool like ClickUp, and creating proprietary processes to leverage your intellectual capital will allow you to scale your business to 7 figures and beyond. Support systems don’t always have to mean significant technology investments, either. Strategies as simple as automating your welcome and nurture sequences for clients beginning their client journey can have powerful results for your business. Speaking success and business longevity take planning and effort to cultivate, but with commitment, you can achieve your speaking vision and build your speaking legacy!
