Let me ask you: Does it feel like the world is spinning a little faster every single day? Backwards, forwards, and in all kinds of directionssimultaneously!

Uncertainty is the new normal, and yes, it can be a little… dizzying!

But what if I told you that you have a secret weapon, a built-in GPS, to navigate it all?

I’m talking about your inner lie detector; your truth compass.

It's not some woo-woo concept; it's an energetic awareness that's always running in the background. It's simple, really: two settingsheavy and light. When you’re in alignment with what’s true for you, things feel… light. Spacious. Open. When you’re off course, things feel heavy. Contracted. Maybe even kind of icky!

Think of it like this: Light is your heart singing "YES!" Heavy is your inner being whispering, "Uh, maybe not."

It even happens on a cellular level! Every cell in our body, when it's happy or safe, expands and moves toward what it would like. It's similar to the feeling of having a crush on someone, or when someone says… "Let's go out for sushi!" and you're like, "Yes!"

And on the other hand, when a cell is unsafe, it contracts and moves away. That's what you feel when somebody puts food in front of you that you're allergic to, or you meet someone you instantly distrust.

Trusting your knowing

So, how do you tap into this superpower, especially when the world feels like it's changing every five minutes?

It starts with noticing how you feel when you’re making choices, listening to the news, talking to friends. Is there lightness? Or a sense of heaviness, dread, or even obligation?

This isn't about judging what's right or wrong. It's about discovering what’s true for you. And here’s a little secret: what's true for you might not be true for your best friend, your mom, or even your guru.

We often buy into other people's truths to fit in, to be liked, or to avoid conflict. But what if you could just be… you? What if you could honor your own knowing, even if it’s different from everyone else’s?

You could even start exploring life in terms of: are these choices expansive or contractive for me? Or for ease… Do I have a crush on this choice?

The truth about truth

Here’s the thing: your inner compass gets more accurate the more you use it. It's like any musclethe more you exercise it, the stronger it gets.

So, start small? Pay attention to how your body responds when you’re making everyday choices:

  • Listening to the News: Does a particular news story leave you feeling heavy and contracted? That doesn't mean the story is all false, and there may be a lie attached to the reporting, spoken or unspoken. Keep asking questions like: Is this true for me? And what part of this is a lie, spoken or unspoken? Find what is true for you!

  • Talking to People: Ever have a conversation that leaves you feeling drained or uneasy? That’s your inner lie detector going off. You don't need to argue or convince anyone; just recognize that, in that moment, their truth isn't necessarily yours.

  • Making Choices: Are you agonizing over what to choose? (Big and small!) Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and ask yourself: “Which choice feels lighter?” Trust that, choose, and see what shows up.

The ‘truth’ tool

There is also a quickie calibrator for your compass, a shortcut if you will: Before asking a question, silently think the word "Truth."

When you do that, you will hear if someone is lying to you, or if you’re lying to yourself. That simple word “Truth” is like pulling back the energetic curtain on agendas, manipulation, and lies, for you and everyone around.

This quickie is really amazingly dynamic and, side note, it is a revolutionary tool for any teenage parent!

You know more than you think

I know, this can all seem a bit strange at first. We're so conditioned to look outside ourselves for answers, for validation, and for approval.

But you have everything you need inside you! You have awareness, you have intuition, and you have the capacity to navigate even the most uncertain times with grace and ease.

The truth compass is one of the most brilliant gifts we were given when we were born. We were just never taught how to use it or trust it…

What if now is the time to learn? What if the dizzying uncertainty of today provides you with the best training ground imaginable for claiming this superpower?

I want you to know that you know.

What if navigating this crazy world could be easier than you ever imagined? What if you have the map inside?

Go play, go practice, go explore.

And remember, always follow the lightness!
