Introduce yourself

I am Robyn, a Postpartum doula. I am a mom to two incredible boys, we live in Kelowna Canada. We are a big hockey family and spend a lot of time at the local rinks. We love the lake, and beaches anything in the sunshine! If I am not supporting families you can find me at the lake.

What is your mission statement?

My mission is to change the way that the postpartum period is viewed. Change the way that families are supported during this pivotal life moment. I think that every family should have support, and guidance during this time and that it should be accessible to everyone.

Can you describe the products, services and expertise you offer to your clients?

As a postpartum doula, I offer in-home support for families who need some extra guidance with finding their rhythm. I offer virtual consultations and postpartum planning, these services help families prepare for their postpartum periods. This way they know what to expect and have support in place, so they are not scrambling to find what they need when they need it. I have a postpartum planning guide that is available for purchase on Amazon, this is a step-by-step guide which helps you prepare for and plan your postpartum.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about my industry it would be the amount of resources that are available to new families. Many countries have little to no postpartum support for families, this leaves people feeling overwhelmed and struggling to find resources.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

A pivotal moment in my life, and what led me to this work was my postpartum period. They were very overwhelming, filled with postpartum depression, and anxiety. I struggled through them and found it very difficult to find the resources I needed when I needed them. Once my children reached school age, I realized that nothing had changed in the way families are supported during their postpartum periods. That is what led me to this work, was wanting to help families have a different experience than I did. Help them find, and acquire the resources and supports that they need to help them experience a more easeful transition into parenthood.
