It is largely accepted that the way we start our day has a ripple impact upon our wellbeing. Many resources of wellness are available on the benefits of the morning sun, a great source of vitamin D, happiness, stillness and awakening.

Much is written on the benefits of early morning movement, from walking, to the incredible benefits of a morning swim (a plus if in the ocean, added plus if in winter). The insights of meditation and the power of gratitude connecting mind and body are incredible to our metabolic wellbeing. But what about the fuel we consume as our first meal? For the past 50 years, Western society has been consumed with the 'benefits' and marketing of breakfast cereals (or are they serial killers for our health?) Most supermarkets are fully stocked with these food-like products, with incredibly powerful language, marketing claims of 'health benefits', even as the superfood from your health, and some are from mother nature. What you consume for your first meal activates your inner body, fuelling your complete body, even your relationship with food. Looking at the labelling of food, are you consuming real foods or food-like products? Is your first meal poisonous fuel for your well-being?
