Did you know that both Venus and Mars are going through a retrograde and traveling back and forth into zodiac signs for the first half of 2025? This is highly unusual for each of these planets, as Venus typically stays in a single zodiac sign for around 2–3 weeks. However, this can vary slightly depending on its movement and whether it is in a retrograde phase. Mars, on the other hand, typically stays in each zodiac sign for around six to seven weeks.

Colorful tarot-style cards arranged in a 12-card spread with numerology and affirmations on a vibrant patterned background

  • Venus enters Pisces on January 2, 2025, moves into Aries on February 4, 2025, and retrogrades back into Pisces from March 1, 2025, to April 18, 2025.

  • Mars entered Leo on November 3, 2024, at 11:10 p.m. and re-entered Leo on April 18, 2025. However, Mars did not remain in Leo the entire time due to its retrograde motion.

Mars retrograde timeline

  • November 3, 2024: Mars entered Leo, the sign of the lion. This transit encourages confidence, creative expression, and making room for freedom.

  • December 6, 2024: Mars began retrograde in Leo, retracing its steps and moving back into Cancer.

  • January 6, 2025: Mars retrograde entered Cancer. Mars is not comfortable in Cancer, as Mars represents action and drive, while Cancer is more focused on nurturing and caring for family.

  • April 18, 2025: Mars re-entered Leo just in time for Venus's retrograde to end on April 12, 2025.

Due to Venus and Mars retrograde, the Fire and Water signs are primarily impacted. This period may inspire you to reflect on relationships, self-worth, creativity, finances, career, freedom, travel, higher education, and change.

How do Venus and Mars influence your understanding of feminine and masculine energies?

Below are five questions to reflect on during this retrograde season:

  1. How have your leadership skills changed since this retrograde season started?

  2. What action will you take to highlight your expertise and self-worth?

  3. What have you learned about yourself during Mars retrograde in Cancer?

  4. What do you need to do to ignite your inner fire once Mars moves into Leo?

  5. With Venus moving back and forth in Pisces and Aries, what new "I AM" statement will you adopt?

Take a look at your natal chart to see the house placement for Venus, Mars, Aries, Cancer, Leo, and Pisces. Below are the meanings of the 12 houses, along with a 12-card spread to help you connect with the chakras. Each house includes a keyword (which can be used as an affirmation), a chakra association, and a number for additional insight into numerology and astrology. If a card appears in reverse, it may indicate two possibilities:

  1. A chakra alignment is recommended.

  2. You may experience resistance to the keyword (affirmation).

Is your Sun, Moon, or Rising Sign in the same placement as Mars, Venus, Aries, Cancer, Leo, or Pisces? This retrograde season may bring endings, completions, death, new beginnings, and a spiritual transformation – you may not recognize yourself by the end of it.
