Emma Liston is best known for her "magical" ability that goes beyond traditional energy healing. As the heart of Being-Magic, she works with both humans and animals, though animals are her true passion. Calling herself an “animal kingdom guardian,” she sees her work as a life purpose, using her unique gifts to bring comfort to those she helps.

As we navigate a rapidly changing world, I believe that within the next decade, we’ll see big shifts in our medical system. Specialists who focus on just one body part may fade out because the body is a whole somatic system. If there’s tension in one place, it ripples everywhere. Physical strain affects you emotionally and mentally, and emotional stress will show up in your body. Nothing exists in isolation; everything is connected.

That’s why healing must treat the whole system and why there’s no “one size fits all” approach. These are the cornerstones of the future of medicine, no matter the modality. Yet, somewhere along the way, modern medicine forgot this.
Are we returning to the old ways?
Healing beyond the conventional system is not new; it’s simply been pushed aside. Many natural modalities were labelled “quackery” as far back as the mid-1800s, with public campaigns against them peaking in the early 20th century.
Homeopathy, naturopathy, osteopathy, and acupuncture are all re-emerging now. Aromatherapy, working with essential oils, is well known, but we also have flower remedies, the most famous being “Rescue Remedy,” created by Dr. Edward Bach (who was actually a doctor and surgeon before he created these remedies).
I’ve seen the power of flower essences firsthand. Years ago, I healed a physical cyst on my finger using flower essences. Once I did the inner work to resolve its emotional root, the cyst simply disappeared, no surgery, no recurrence. This is the potency of non-invasive, alternative therapies.
Of course, there’s still a place for trauma care and emergency surgery; modern medicine can save lives. But allopathy is not the only way, and we may not need it nearly as much as we think.
Last, but certainly not least, energy healing practices like Reiki and quantum modalities are also growing in popularity. You can read more on energy and quantum healing in a previous article here. Everything is energy first, which brings me to some of our oldest teachers.
What do our old teachers say?
Inventors, healers, authors, and mystics have long spoken of truths we are just remembering now.
Nikola Tesla famously said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”
Edgar Cayce, the “sleeping prophet,” predicted, “Sound will be the medicine of the future.”
Madam Blavatsky and many others of her time also held views of healing very different from today’s standard model. Their ideas are resurfacing now for a reason.
The body is more than “just a body”
tFor generations, we’ve been told we’re genetically “stuck” with what our ancestors had. But what if the body is actually a piece of divine technology, both self-healing and self-attuning? What if you can change your family history by changing your mind and how you work with your body?
Every cell is conscious, listening to your words, thoughts, and emotions. You, as consciousness itself, can communicate with the consciousness of your body.
Your body is talking to you… all the time
Pain, tension, and a pimple are all messages. When you treat your body like the sacred temple it is, clearing your energetic field and maintaining your system, many physical ailments never manifest.
Think of your body like a car; you don’t wait for it to break down before servicing it. Yet, so often, we only “do the work” once we’re in crisis, instead of keeping ourselves functioning at optimal levels.
And we claim we don’t have five minutes a day to care for ourselves, yet somehow find weeks or longer to recover from surgery. We need to pause, examine our habits, and start choosing cycles that truly serve us.
Sound and music
Just as a tuning fork aligns an instrument, sound can bring the body back into harmony. Sound baths, tuning forks, singing bowls, and vocal toning are all ways to recalibrate.
Music moves us because it’s a universal language our bodies understand. If sound calls to you, explore it; it’s not just relaxing, it’s profoundly restorative.
Moving from mind to heart
We’ve been living from the mind, logical, disconnected, pushing feelings aside. Now, during these pivotal times on Earth, we’re moving back into the heart.
This shift is influencing even psychology. Somatic approaches recognize that trauma isn’t just processed or experienced in the mind; it continues to live in the body. Talking can help, but to truly release it, we need a full-body approach.
How did we end up here?
To be honest, I am not entirely sure. But I do know that we’ve become disconnected from nature, from one another, from ourselves. Work, deadlines, and paying the bills have replaced true living.
On planes, they tell us to put our own mask on first. Yet in life, we forget. When your health is gone, no amount of money can buy it back.
Our systems, including education, teach us to look outward, compete, and survive, never to be still, connect inward, or honor our bodies.
The rise in so-called “mental illness” is, I believe, a spiritual sickness, a symptom of long-term disconnection. The current global shift is our call to return home, to ourselves.
Cayce said it best: “Know that all healing forces are within, not without. The applications from without are merely to create within, a coordinating mental and spiritual force.”
So… what can you do now?
True change requires your presence more than your effort. If this article is igniting something within, here are some ways to start making true change in your life.
Slow down
Start by taking even a few minutes per day to just breathe. To just be.
Get out into nature
Let the sun touch your skin. Walk barefoot on the earth as often as you can. Move in ways that awaken you to your own life-force energy that runs through every fibre of your being.
Prioritise yourself
Say “no” when you need to. Fill your cup first before giving to others. This is not selfish; it’s essential.
Build your awareness
In stillness, notice your body. Where’s the tension? Ask questions, and listen for answers. They will come!
It’s time to remember: You are your own healer
You know yourself better than anyone if you’re connected to yourself. The days of outsourcing your health without question are ending.
Help from a practitioner is valuable, but only when you’re not giving away your power. Self-diagnosing via Google is still outsourcing; your true guidance must come from within.
When you know your own body, you can feel what’s out of balance and seek the right support to restore harmony. People are tired of endless pills, side effects, and years of no progress. They’re ready for change.
And this tells me the new way of healing is not just coming…it’s already here.
…and it’s not just about humans…
Everything I’ve shared above also applies to our animals. More and more “mainstream” veterinarians are returning to the old ways. Dr. Judy, Dr. Jones, Dr. Jeff, and others are leading the way, showing those still entrenched in the allopathic system that there is another path.
Most of my clients are animals, so I’ve seen this firsthand. One case that stands out was a dog whose back legs had become completely stiff and lame. After eight months of scans, blood tests, and no answers, I worked with him energetically and found the root cause, the main one being that his base chakra was almost completely blocked. Once I’d cleared and balanced his energy, I shared my findings with his human guardian… and she admitted that half of what I described about how this could even affect his behaviour was also happening, even though she’d never mentioned that part to me.
Four weeks later, she reached out: he was walking again. Not only that, he was calm, peaceful, and no longer aggressive toward her guests. The change was so profound that her friends could hardly believe it. Why? Because the true root cause had been addressed, and in doing so, the dog was able to heal not only his physical body, but his emotional body too.
Why all of this really matters
Taking care of yourself is not selfish; it’s essential. When you shift what no longer serves you, that shift ripples outward to everyone around you… and that includes your animals.
Right now, our animals are taking on more than ever. They’re helping us transmute what’s weighing us down. While you and your animal agreed to this on a soul level, the more you tend to your own well-being, the less they need to carry for you. If you’d like to read more about this, I have a previous article on soul contracts.
Bottom line: when you feel lighter, happier, and more joyful, that energy radiates. Others, human and animal alike, feel it and can tune into it. Healing yourself helps heal the human collective, the animal kingdom, and the planet itself. Just as each cell contributes to the health of the whole body, every rise in awareness and consciousness contributes to the healing of the whole Earth.
When you heal, you don’t just change your own life, you change every single life connected to yours… and more!
