Therese Lyander is a pioneer within Holistic Health and Mindset Coaching, with a passion for awakening the inner Genius in every woman. She guides women who have lost touch with their power, purpose, or zest for life not by focusing on what's “wrong,” but by helping them return to the wisdom of the body and the clarity of the soul.

After more than a decade of struggling with physical and mental health challenges, she found her own path to healing through detox, fasting, trauma healing, and Human Design. Today, she shares that journey with others not just to help them function again, but to live freely, truthfully, and in alignment with who they really are.

Therese Lyander, Transformational Holistic Health & Mindset Coach

Therese, can you start by telling us a little about yourself, who you are, and the journey that has shaped you into who you are today?

I am a person who has always defied the norm, I have always been alternative and done my own thing. It is, and should be, difficult to put me into a specific box. Imagine a spiritual hippie at heart who still has boundaries and discipline. I am a business nerd who loves solving problems, guiding others, and contributing to the creation of a healthier and more loving society. I go completely crazy and out of balance if I can’t walk barefoot and be in touch with nature. My family is what I cherish the most I build my career around a rich family life with a lot of freedom. I love being a mother; it is the greatest gift and title I have ever received.

You have a background both as an entrepreneur and a leader in the business world, but today you also work as a coach. How do you see these two worlds, business and healing, connected in your life?

For me, it is a whole. Everything is connected. You cannot create something good for the world if you haven’t healed your inner self. All the wounds we carry in life are projected outward into every part of our lives in one way or another. If everyone heals their lives and relationships and then embodies their inner leader, we have a very bright future ahead. Suddenly, we will have regenerative businesses that actually live in symbiosis with Mother Nature instead of depleting her.

Your own health journey has been complex, including trauma, burnout, and major dietary changes. What has been the most decisive step in your personal healing?

Seeing my patterns and breaking them. Everything is patterns. If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get the result you’ve always gotten. Not happy with the result? Try a different pattern.

You often talk about how diagnoses do not define us. Can you share more about your perspective on this and why it is such an important part of your message?

Right now, we live in a society that is not rooted in nature’s form or movement. Human beings are a product of nature and uniquely designed to live in rhythm with it. Diagnoses arise when people are not allowed to follow their unique form and rhythm. Then various survival patterns emerge that can be classified as diagnoses. I see diagnoses as symptoms of a humanity that is walking in the wrong direction and not allowed to live as themselves.

Human Design has become a central part of your work. How has it helped you to better understand yourself and your clients?

Human Design is incredibly powerful for understanding the unique person. In one session, I can pinpoint a person’s patterns in a way that could take a psychologist several years to uncover. It is a much more efficient and holistic system. Several of my clients have felt more seen by me than by psychologists they have gone to for many years. Human Design sees the unique individual and their needs from diet and health to relationships.

Many of your clients are women who feel abandoned by the traditional healthcare system. What is the first thing you usually say to someone who comes to you with that feeling?

You are not alone. You are not making this up. You are worthy of receiving the right help, both within and outside the healthcare system.

Your program “What F* Should I Eat?”* is aimed at women struggling with food, energy, and trauma symptoms. What inspired you to create this program?

The program was shaped by my own experience of being bombarded with dietary advice and diets. I got tired of trying everything and still not finding the solution. But along the way, I learned so much about how, where, and when to detox the body, when to rebuild it, and how to do it in a gentle way. With

Human Design, I have also added a unique filter that helps clients adapt the journey to their own body and design. People are different for a reason – we need to honor that in order to feel good.

You were vegan for many years but have recently made a major dietary change. How has that journey affected you both physically and emotionally?

Oh. Yes, it has been incredibly difficult. Yet another identity that caused a lot of grief and acceptance. But also a deeper initiation. I feel that I have finally landed more fully in my body and in myself. I am not designed to maintain any specific identity, so I knew that even veganism would eventually become too small for me. I still eat mostly plant-based, but my body has very different needs since I became a mother and have been breastfeeding my son long-term. Life has different seasons, and I am becoming more and more okay with that. Everything has its own frequency, including food. To reach our deepest layers, animal foods can sometimes be an important tool. This is a subject I want to explore more and maybe write an article about.

What would you like to say to other women who are in a similar process, where the body suddenly wants something different than what they previously believed in or identified with?

Free yourself. Listen to your body. Experiment. It’s okay to change and then change again. We are created to be in constant movement and growth.

When you look ahead, what is your vision, both for your own life and for the work you do with women through coaching and programs?

Even more freedom and deeper connection. Individual healing that leads to collective healing. I envision large women’s circles and also mixed circles with both men and women dedicated to healing relationships. That is how we heal the world. I also look forward to growing my family and welcoming more souls who want to be part of changing the world. The future is bright.

Finally, if Brainz readers were to take only one thing from your journey and your work, what would you want it to be?

Never stop trusting your inner light. Take yourself seriously. When you do, everyone else will too. Live your life fully and don’t hold back! Misunderstandings will always happen and can be solved. Learn to take criticism without beating yourself up. And remember it’s important to make mistakes, because otherwise we don’t know when we’ve gotten it right.
