What Vedic astrology suggests about November’s political tensions and how we can feel calm in an unsettling world. November is going to be an emotionally charged month, particularly as the United States moves through the November 3 midterm elections. From a Vedic astrology perspective, several planetary movements suggest a period of heightened emotion, questions about leadership, and a renewed focus on what we can and cannot trust.

One transit I’m watching closely is Mars moving toward the degree of the August 12 solar eclipse. In Vedic astrology, Mars is associated with action, conflict, anger, and the drive to defend what we believe is right. When Mars activates an eclipse degree, hidden themes developing beneath the surface demand our attention.
In the astrology chart I use for the United States, the eclipse fell in Cancer in the eighth house, a house associated with hidden matters, scandals, deception, investigations, shared resources, and transformation. As the election unfolds, questions about cheating, political procedures, and public trust may become especially charged. People across the political spectrum may feel that something is unfair or that institutions are failing them.
Astrology can offer a lens for reflection, but it cannot always tell us whether a particular allegation is true. Well, sometimes it can. In November, astrology shows that questions will arise about these election results. We will wonder about cheating, wrongdoing, and inappropriate behaviors. We must investigate the allegations with fairness and call for transparency on both sides of the aisle.
Another shift comes as Jupiter enters Leo at the end of October, with Mars following around November 12. Ketu is also in Leo. Together, these placements may bring questions about leaders, authority, and power into sharper focus, not only in the United States but around the world. During this time, we will see a global shift in power.
During this November election, I predict a very heated and volatile time. Yet we cannot let the emotions of the collective take away our inner peace.
When we feel disappointed by leaders or uncertain about institutions, anger, fear, and grief can rise quickly. We may want to argue, defend our position, or persuade others to see what we see. Before reacting, pause. Take a breath. Notice what is happening in your body. Ask yourself what lies beneath the emotion: Do I feel betrayed? Am I afraid? What do I need in order to feel grounded? Our feelings deserve attention, but they do not have to dictate our response.
Whatever November brings, our sense of steadiness doesn’t have to depend entirely on an election result or the choices of those in power. We can care deeply about our country and stay engaged while tending to our own emotional wellbeing and showing care for the people around us.
When the news feels overwhelming, it’s okay to step away. Take a walk in nature. Sit quietly. Breathe. Return to what grounds you. Staying centered doesn’t mean looking away from the world, it helps you meet it with greater clarity, compassion, and courage.
This is an extraordinary time to be alive. We’re watching longstanding systems shift, and with change comes the possibility of something better: a government built on honesty, accountability, and service to the people. But progress begins with seeing clearly. We must be willing to ask hard questions, confront wrongdoing where we find it, and seek the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. Stay curious, stay informed, and keep your eyes open.
Breathe and stay centered, my friend. Things are just getting started.
