Dragana Terzic, Entrepreneur

Hi Dragana, please introduce yourself!

I am Draganа Terzić, the proud owner and director of the "Travel Point" Tourist Agency based in Prijepolje, Republic of Serbia. Born and raised in this picturesque town, I've experienced the incredible advantages of living at the crossroads of Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This unique environment inspired me to pursue a career in promoting the beauty of our region and its untapped tourism potential. Alongside my professional journey, I've cultivated a strong connection to the outdoors, often spending time hiking, exploring nature, and immersing myself in diverse cultures during my travels. My academic background in geography, specializing in tourism, further fueled my passion for sustainable regional development and promoting my homeland's hidden gems.

What inspired you to start your business/website, and what is the main mission or goal behind it?

The inspiration to start "Travel Point" came from recognizing the untapped beauty of Prijepolje and its surroundings. I returned from Slovakia, where I pursued my master's degree in regional development and rural tourism, armed with the determination to transform my academic knowledge into practical action. The core mission of "Travel Point" is to place our region on the international tourism map and showcase its diverse attractions, from the breathtaking landscapes to cultural heritage. We aim to create a sustainable tourism model that not only enriches the visitor experience but also uplifts the local community by generating economic growth and preserving our natural and cultural treasures.

Could you please tell me more about the products/services you offer and how they stand out from competitors in the market?

"Travel Point" offers a unique range of tour packages that immerse travelers in the authentic charm of Prijepolje and its neighboring areas. Our tours are carefully curated to encompass various interests, including cultural experiences, eco-tourism, adventure activities, and more. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to providing personalized experiences. We emphasize intimate group sizes, local guides, and meaningful interactions with the community, which ensures a deep connection with the destination and an authentic insight into the local way of life.

In what ways does your business contribute to the community or the industry it operates in?

"Travel Point" plays a vital role in the sustainable development of our community. By bringing tourists to our region, we contribute to the local economy, support small businesses, and create job opportunities for residents. Furthermore, we collaborate with local artisans, promoting their crafts and preserving cultural heritage. Our commitment to responsible tourism also includes initiatives to raise awareness about environmental conservation and engage in community-driven projects that uplift the quality of life for the residents.

What are your future plans and aspirations for your business? Are there any upcoming projects, expansions, or new initiatives you would like to share?

Looking ahead, our goal is to establish Prijepolje as a premier destination for sustainable and authentic tourism experiences. We plan to expand our tour offerings, focusing on eco-friendly initiatives and partnering with local producers to showcase the region's culinary delights. Additionally, we aim to collaborate with schools and universities to provide educational programs that raise awareness about sustainable tourism practices and environmental stewardship.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

One of my proudest career achievements has been successfully founding and growing "Travel Point." Overcoming skepticism and paving the way for the agency's acceptance within the community was a significant milestone. Witnessing the positive impact on both travelers and the local economy has been incredibly fulfilling. The recognition and awards I've received for my work serve as a reminder of the importance of perseverance and the power of promoting regional tourism.
