As souls, we came here to be physical beings, in a body that breathes, in a point of time where we work and are rewarded, to be heard, experienced, and loved. Everything about our existence is meant to be seen and heard on a physical plane.

As AI comes in, the absence of human connection will be felt deeply. We are already seeing this impact on the job market. Our applications are being responded to by AI, we are being interviewed by AI, and our answers are not being addressed in the way we both expect and are entitled to. In fact, when the AI is entirely inept, we experience nothing but frustration when trying to get our problems solved.

Ever had to speak to a bot? Did you leave feeling like your issue was handled appropriately, or did you leave thinking, I won’t bother next time?

Have you ever posted something on a social media platform, only for an AI generator to comment back with the exact sentiment you wrote, but phrased differently? The frustrations start to build, right?

So, when we are faced with an existence we did not come here for, what happens? A revolution. A social rejection of that very thing. I believe, and have felt this for a long time, that people will reject technology. We’re already seeing a new wave of people wanting to live off the grid.

Interestingly, technology itself is helping us maintain a balance between reality and the digital world by offering tools like app timers, which allow us to limit our phone usage to, say, an hour a day, if we choose to.

From someone who has been in the hiring field for over 20 years, there is often an element of prioritising “hiring potential” over experience. Someone’s CV can look great, but their attitude stinks. They carry a negative energy that, as anyone knows, can ruin an entire team, one bad apple does indeed spoil the bunch. Their punctuation might be sloppy, their interpersonal skills lacking, and these are characteristics that cannot be captured or scraped from data.

So, if companies rely solely on data to hire people, they will lose the diversity and human nuance needed for successful teams and instead grant roles to the privileged or those who can manipulate the system. Such an approach cannot measure energy, and energy is crucial. A person with great energy will far outweigh someone with experience if that experienced person carries a negative vibe. I believe this will lead to many mistakes and frustrations. It may even be AI that ultimately brings down organisations built on strong reputations and exceptional customer service.

Then, I feel, a change will occur. People, wanting to be seen and heard, will gravitate toward smaller companies, those that are less reliant on tech-heavy systems. They will seek connection in small, independent coffee shops and groups where people can simply be themselves.

If recognising someone for who they are and experiencing their essence is replaced by a machine, I don’t believe that business will last very long.

Money and property are assets, but in the future, customer service will be the greatest asset a company can have. It will be the key to guaranteeing growth. The experience a bot provides will feel like a cheap alternative to your brand, and customers will notice the difference.

AI, in its own way, will bring about a social revolution, one where community becomes paramount and deeply valued.
