Betrayal cuts deep. Whether it comes from a partner, friend, family member, or colleague, it shakes the foundation of your trust, safety, and emotional well-being.

In a world that often tells us to “move on” quickly, it’s important to give yourself the space to actually heal. And holistic remedies, tools that address the mind, body, and spirit, can be powerful allies in your recovery journey.

If you’re navigating the pain of betrayal, here are seven natural, soulful remedies to help you process, release, and begin again with clarity and strength.

1. Honor the grief, don’t rush it

Holistic healing begins with acknowledgment. Betrayal is a form of emotional trauma, and pretending you're “fine” delays healing.

Try this: Create a sacred space at home where you can journal, release, or sit in silence. Do my 4-step method to get to the root of it. Use calming essential oils like lavender, frankincense, rose, or vetiver to ground your emotions. Let yourself feel, without judgment.

2. Support your nervous system with adaptogens

Betrayal activates your stress response – fight, flight, or freeze. Adaptogenic herbs help regulate cortisol and bring your body back into balance.

Try This: Incorporate herbs like ashwagandha, rhodiola, or holy basil into your daily routine (teas, tinctures, or capsules). These herbs support emotional resilience, improve sleep, and calm anxiety.

I personally enjoy using herb blends from Dr. Robert Morse. They’re wildcrafted and formulated to provide an array of optimal health benefits for each organ system.

3. Cleanse the energy with rituals

Energetic healing is often overlooked, but betrayal can leave behind lingering emotional residue. Energy cleansing rituals help you reclaim your space and personal power.

Try this:

  • Burn sage, palo santo, or mugwort around your body and living area.

  • Take a sea salt and lavender bath to release heavy emotional energy.

  • Write a letter expressing your feelings, then safely burn or bury it.

These rituals are symbolic and powerful. They give your subconscious permission to let go.

4. Eat to heal your heart and gut

The gut is deeply connected to the brain. Emotional pain can lead to digestive issues, fatigue, and inflammation. Healing food supports not just your body but your mood.

Try this: Focus on anti-inflammatory, grounding meals:

  • Leafy greens, root vegetables, sweet potatoes

  • Omega-3-rich foods like walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds

  • Herbal teas like chamomile, lemon balm, and peppermint

Avoid sugar and processed food, which can increase emotional crashes and irritability.

5. Reconnect with your intuition through meditation

Betrayal often makes you doubt yourself. Meditation helps quiet the mind, reconnect you with your inner knowing, and rebuild your trust in yourself.

Try this:

  • Daily 10 to 20 minutes of guided meditations for heart healing or chakra balancing

  • Focus on the heart chakra (Anahata): visualize green light around your chest and repeat:“I am safe. I am worthy. I trust myself.”

Meditation videos on YouTube with various frequencies measured in hertz can benefit you a great deal.

6. Move the pain out, literally

Emotional pain lives in the body. Somatic movement helps release stored tension, grief, and trauma from betrayal.

Try this:

  • Gentle yin yoga, qigong, or dance therapy

  • Practice shaking (trauma release exercises) to discharge emotional stress

  • Walk barefoot in nature to reconnect with the Earth’s energy

Movement isn’t about fitness, it’s about release and reconnection.

7. Surround yourself with high-vibrational support

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Surround yourself with people, resources, and practices that lift your energy and remind you of your worth.

Try this:

  • Work with a holistic coach or energy healer who does reiki

  • Read books on trauma healing, self-worth, and empowerment

  • Join supportive communities (online or in person) focused on wellness and healing

You don’t have to carry this alone.
