It might surprise you to know how many people are shocked when I tell them I didn’t start my career as a TV producer. I wasn’t a media coach, either. I spent 40 years in corporate America before running a TV network. Now, I know that’s a big jump. But you know, today wouldn’t have been possible without my “Blue Rose Moment.”

And if you had asked me, while I was in corporate America, what my exit strategy was, owning a TV studio and running my own network wouldn’t have even been in my vocabulary.
Let’s take a step back for a moment because I want to say this first: your most valuable asset is you, and if you don’t invest in yourself, who will?
That’s really how it was. I found myself in this extraordinary position to make this commitment, to enter the world of streaming TV and take a chance on something outside my comfort zone.
Now, of course, I applied my experience and foundations to Zondra TV, but I’ve found that uncommon and unconventional opportunities have been the real driving force behind my growth.
So, what is a blue rose moment?
I’m going to quote a passage from my Blue Rose speech right here:
"Beliefs have power to create or destroy your ability to succeed in life. Transformation can be as foreign as a blue rose until your mindset expands to receive the less common possibilities. Are you ready for your Blue Rose Moment? Be courageously intentional today and be willing to step outside the norm. You will soar once you let go of limiting beliefs."
Okay, so what does that mean?
Life’s greatest rewards are always revealed in uncommon and unconventional opportunities, which I refer to as a “Blue Rose Moment.”
Many of my greatest wins have come from a willingness to pursue unconventional ideas with confidence and zest. After all, true thought leaders and pioneers pivot across work, play, and life, turning blank canvases into works of art.
The language of roses
From red to white to orange, every color communicates dozens of meanings to those who know how to read them.
The classic red rose conveys romantic love, passion, and promises of lifelong commitment and affection.
The bright yellow rose speaks of friendship, joy, good cheer, and renewal, making them the natural choice for Easter celebrations or a spring holiday.
The delicate white rose signifies both new beginnings and fond farewells. They symbolize purity, fresh starts, and blossoming new love.
Pink roses come in a variety of shades, from light pink’s gentleness and admiration to dark pink’s appreciation and gratitude.
But what about blue roses?
Blue roses don’t occur every day
Blue roses are absolutely real! They don’t occur naturally; instead, they are cultivated through care, nurturing, and patience.
They represent mystery, intrigue, and the impossible. Their rarity encourages admirers to embark on a journey to find them.
These beautiful roses also symbolize good fortune, abundance, and determination, making them the perfect symbol for entrepreneurs.
The best opportunities are unconventional
You know that saying, most successful entrepreneurs are successful because they can think outside of the box. That ain’t it.
Success begins when someone is willing to “live without a box.” When a person is ready to tap into their own strength, source, and foundation to win, sometimes, that means taking a chance on a highway they’ve never been on.
After all, blue roses don’t show up at your doorstep every day, but they’re some of the best opportunities, maybe a little unconventional, to change your life.
Without my blue rose moment, I wouldn’t be here
Ten years ago, someone said I should become a talk show host. It shocked me, truly shocked me. I had never been on TV, much less hosted or produced a TV show.
So, when I received a call asking if I wanted to purchase a Roku channel and become a TV talk show host, you can imagine I was apprehensive.
I could have said, “No thanks, I’m not a talk show host,” and just hung up. But I didn’t. I always pray before making major decisions, so I prayed. Could owning my own TV channel help me make a positive change in other people’s lives? In my life?
I envisioned the difference I could make, and suddenly, I could barely contain my excitement. And I said yes!
We can all have an exciting life
I truly believe that we can all live an exciting life if we are willing to just say yes to the unconventional opportunities that come our way.
By saying yes to purchasing my first channel, the Zondra TV Network is now streaming in 800 million homes worldwide, and we have two international awards for TV, media, and the talk show genre.
And that’s not even including all that we’ve accomplished through our Producer Academy. Every day, dozens of Zondra TV producers are creating additional revenue streams, expanding their brands, and becoming experts in their own digital strategies. All it took was saying yes to their own unconventional opportunity.
Learn how to monetize your brand
I want to leave you with this: success all starts with you and your willingness to accept your Blue Rose Moment. After all, had I not accepted my own Blue Rose Moment, there would be no Zondra TV.
Now, I can’t help you identify when that moment will come into your life. But I can teach you how to monetize your brand and the digital strategies you need to have in place yesterday.
While you may not see it as a “Blue Rose Moment,” it will certainly help you cultivate the next step in your journey. It’s about your impact on the world.
Join me every second Thursday of the month for Monetize Your Brand at 11:30 AM CST. Register here.
I can’t wait to see you there!
