High performance should allow you to grow without compromising your health, your relationships, or your sense of fulfillment.”

What first drew you into the world of mindset and performance coaching?

My journey into mindset and performance coaching began with a deeply personal wake-up call. I lost a close friend to mental health struggles, and that experience made me realize how urgent it is to bridge the gap between ambition, mental well-being, and purpose. It was a pivotal moment that shaped my mission and inspired me to create tools and frameworks that would not only help people reach success but also enable them to thrive while doing it.

How do you personally define true high performance in life and business?

For me, true high performance is not about working nonstop or burning out in the pursuit of short-term wins. It is about staying aligned with your purpose, maintaining clarity when challenges arise, and making choices that reflect your deepest values. High performance should be sustainable. It should allow you to grow without compromising your health, your relationships, or your sense of fulfillment.

What common challenges or limiting beliefs do you notice most among your clients?

One of the most common challenges I see is overthinking. Many people get stuck in the cycle of analysis, weighing every possibility until they feel paralyzed and unable to act. Another widespread belief is that they are not ready or not good enough to take the next step in their journey. These patterns can be incredibly restrictive, but what I remind clients is that clarity comes from action. Confidence is not something we wait for; it is something we build by moving forward.

In what ways do you guide people to discover and align with their purpose?

I guide people through structured frameworks that allow them to uncover their core values and unique strengths. From there, we connect what energizes them with the areas where they want to create impact. My role is not to hand them a ready-made purpose but to create the conditions for them to discover it themselves. When people claim that ownership, alignment becomes authentic and long-lasting.

What practices or routines help you stay grounded while running your business?

Balance is the key for me. I stay grounded by engaging in activities that keep both my body and mind strong. Bouldering and boxing challenge me physically, while reading and journaling nurture my curiosity and reflection. I also make time for stillness, whether through meditation or simply unplugging from the noise. These practices act as anchors, ensuring I remain present and fully focused on my clients and my team.

Could you share a transformation story that had a big impact on you as a coach?

One of the most powerful stories I have witnessed is that of a client who came to me feeling stuck in both career and personal life. They were going through the motions without direction or fulfillment. Through our work together, they uncovered what truly mattered to them, transitioned into a career that ignited their passion, and began investing in their personal well-being and relationships. Watching that transformation unfold, from burnout to intentional living, reinforced my belief in the power of this work and reminded me why I do what I do.

“When people reconnect with what gives them energy and meaning, everything else — performance, clarity, confidence — starts to align naturally.”

What vision do you have for the future of your work and the people you serve?

My vision is to establish Cognitive Verse as a global movement dedicated to mental clarity and purposeful living. I want to see individuals and organizations everywhere using cognitive tools to not only perform at a higher level but also to flourish as whole human beings. The future of performance is not about doing more for the sake of it. It is about working with intention, creating balance, and placing humanity at the center of growth.

Tan Chrissis’s work with Cognitive Verse exemplifies a new era of performance — one grounded in purpose, science, and human connection. His belief that “clarity comes from action” captures the essence of his approach: progress through awareness, alignment, and consistent practice. By integrating cognitive science with mindful leadership, Chrissis is redefining what it means to thrive — not just in business, but in life.
