I’ve always believed that action speaks louder than ideas. That belief doesn’t just shape how I lead, it defines how I live. The Do It & Prove It™ mindset has been my guiding principle through career milestones, personal growth, and the challenges that come with pursuing big dreams. This isn’t just a philosophy, it’s a lifestyle of intentional action, tangible results, and continuous learning.

This approach isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress. It’s about showing up, trying, learning, and proving to yourself and others that your ideas matter and your goals are achievable. Whether it’s clearing out a cluttered inbox, organizing my space, or building two businesses from the ground up, I’ve seen the power of combining action with accountability.

Running a moving company like Ameritex Houston, known for delivering stress-free moves to the Houston area, or creating a digital strategy agency like Miss Congeniality & Co., each step taken has proven the impact of this mindset. Here’s what embracing the Do It & Prove It™ mindset has taught me and how you can apply it to your own life.

Start before you’re ready

One of my most freeing realizations has been this, you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. In fact, you’ll rarely feel ready. When I launched Miss Congeniality & Co., I didn’t have all the answers, but I knew action would bring clarity. Waiting for the perfect moment only delays progress.

Similarly, when we started Ameritex Houston, we knew the Houston moving industry was competitive, but we didn’t wait for the perfect business model. We took action, providing professional moving services that emphasize efficiency and integrity. As with any new venture, starting without all the answers can create opportunities for growth.

Take one small step today, even if it’s imperfect. Each action builds momentum, and momentum builds confidence.

Declutter your mind and your life

Earlier this year, I shared a reel about tackling my overflowing inbox. It may seem trivial, but unsubscribing from spam emails became a metaphor for clearing mental noise. Every time I hit “unsubscribe,” I felt more in control, not just of my inbox, but of my mindset.

This idea extends to every area of life. Your surroundings, whether your workspace, car, or digital spaces, affect your clarity and focus. Decluttering creates space for what truly matters, allowing you to prioritize the actions that move the needle.

At Ameritex Movers, we’ve built an entire culture around this concept. From the first phone call to the final box unloaded, every part of our moving process is streamlined to ensure our clients’ experience is as clear and organized as possible.

Prove it, even to yourself

When I took over as CEO of Ameritex Movers in Dallas, I knew there would be skeptics. Could I balance being a leader, a creative, and a visionary? The answer wasn’t in words, it was in results.

“Proving it” doesn’t always mean convincing others. Sometimes, it’s about showing yourself what you’re capable of. Set small, measurable goals that build your confidence and showcase progress. Success isn’t about grand gestures, it’s about consistency over time.

For example, every successful move that Ameritex Houston completes, whether for a family relocating to Katy or a business transitioning in The Woodlands, proves that our systems work. These daily wins build a track record of results that drive our company forward.

Learn from what doesn’t work

Failure is inevitable, but I’ve learned to embrace it as part of the journey. Every misstep has taught me something valuable. Early on, I struggled with saying yes to too many projects, thinking I could manage it all. I quickly realized the power of focus, choosing the right priorities rather than spreading myself too thin.

When something doesn’t go as planned, don’t get stuck in self-doubt. Reflect, adjust, and move forward. Growth comes from experimenting and iterating, not from staying stagnant.

Both in the digital strategy space and my moving companies, we’ve had our fair share of setbacks. But each one teaches us how to improve, whether it’s optimizing processes for better client satisfaction or refining our marketing strategies for better outreach.

Take ownership

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that no one is coming to save you. Your goals are your responsibility. This doesn’t mean you can’t lean on a support system. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors and colleagues, but ultimately, it’s on you to show up and deliver.

To keep myself accountable, I write down my goals and share them with trusted friends or team members. Knowing someone else is watching pushes me to stay on track.

At Miss Congeniality & Co., my team and I have made accountability a cornerstone of our culture. Similarly, at Ameritex Movers, we hold ourselves accountable to every client, ensuring that every move is executed with the highest level of professionalism.

Celebrate, then keep going

Small wins matter. Whether it’s landing a new client, finishing a big project, or simply checking off a daily task, I make it a point to celebrate. But I also remind myself that success isn’t a destination, it’s a journey.

After achieving a goal, ask yourself, what’s next? This mindset keeps you motivated and focused on continuous improvement.

When we move a family into their new home or a business into a new office, I don’t just see it as a job well done. I see it as proof that our team’s hard work is paying off, and it fuels our drive to keep improving our services.

Living the Do It & Prove It™ philosophy

Adopting this mindset has transformed how I approach challenges, both big and small. From managing a team to organizing my life, the principle remains the same, take action, learn from the process, and demonstrate your progress through results.

If I had to leave you with one piece of advice, it’s this, start where you are. You don’t need all the answers to begin. Take a small, deliberate step today, and trust that each action will lead you closer to your goals.

Whether it’s starting your own business, embarking on a big move, or organizing your life, remember that you have the power to turn your vision into action. The key is to begin now, no matter how imperfect your first step might be.

What’s the one thing you’ve been waiting to start? Stop waiting. Do it, and then prove it to yourself and the world.
