Discovering the Power of Sound Healing – Exclusive Interview with Lucia Nosko and Martin Nosko

“Sound healing brought an indescribable calm into my life, something I had never experienced before.”

My name is Lucia Nosko. My life has completely changed after my stay in a Buddhist monastery in Nepal, where I came for a silent and meditation retreat. This was a time when I could feel the impact of the singing bowl on my body very clearly. It was 11 years ago. Since then, I've been deeply exploring the power of sound.

My husband, Martin, joined me after a couple of years as a business partner. It was a great milestone of Sound Healing Slovakia. He brought his unique energy into our mission.

He was very supportive since my early beginings, I guess it s one of the reason I really started in our country with sound healing even nobody knew what it is.

What inspired you to start Sound Healing Slovakia, and what is its core mission?

Sound Healing Slovakia was born out of my deep passion for raising awareness about the healing power of sound. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how profoundly sound can impact people, not only by relaxing the body but by creating real shifts in energy, emotions, and inner alignment. That’s why I’ve focused not only on offering sessions but also on building a strong, supportive community of sound healing professionals in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. I believe that when we educate and support each other, healing becomes a collective movement.

How does sound healing work, and what benefits can clients expect from your sessions?

Sound healing works through frequency and vibration. Each part of the body has its own natural resonance, and when we’re under stress or dealing with illness or emotional trauma, that harmony is disrupted. The sound instruments I use help bring the body and mind back into alignment. Clients often leave sessions feeling deeply relaxed, emotionally lighter, more present, and sometimes even physically relieved of pain. It’s always a very personal experience, but peace, clarity, and a sense of balance are common outcomes.

How do you integrate traditional and modern approaches in your sound healing sessions?

Since the very beginning, my goal has been to bring the deep wisdom of traditional sound healing into a modern context. I’ve created my own signature method that blends ancient tools and philosophies with contemporary understanding of the nervous system, psychology, and energy work. I also teach this approach to our students. I respect tradition deeply, but I also believe that even sacred practices should evolve to meet the needs of today’s world.

What types of instruments do you use in your sound healing practice, and how do they influence energy and well-being?

I work with a variety of instruments: singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, tuning forks, shamanic drums, and also the voice. Each has its own frequency and energetic quality. Gongs can create powerful, deep-clearing waves; crystal bowls are light and ethereal, often calming the nervous system; drums bring grounding and connection to the body. The instruments don’t just produce sound; they carry vibration that the whole body responds to. It’s a full-sensory, transformative experience.

What advice would you give to someone new to sound healing and looking to explore its benefits?

Take your time and choose your sources wisely. Whether it’s a practitioner or information online, look for people who are educated and experienced in the field. Unfortunately, there are many self-proclaimed sound healers who lack even basic knowledge of frequency and therapeutic application. Real healing requires understanding, care, and responsibility, so trust your intuition, but also do your research.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

There are so many meaningful moments. Several of our clients have conceived after just one session, many after struggling to get pregnant for years. One older woman came to us with chronic shoulder pain that had lasted over 20 years, and after a single session, the pain was completely gone.

We’ve also had the honor of working with many children. One case I’ll never forget involved a little boy who had suffered severe burns after accidentally spilling boiling water on himself. Since the accident, he had completely stopped speaking. After his very first sound healing session, as he was leaving with his mother and grandmother, he suddenly spoke to my dog. His mom and grandmother burst into tears of joy. It was one of the most emotional and unforgettable moments in my entire career.

It was a moment I decided to create my Authors program, Sound Healing for children, which we are offering to schools and kindergartens. This program is the very first official program for schools and kindergartens in the world. Many sound healers from all over the world wrote me about how I did it, when schools and kindergartens allow me to do sound healing. Now it s one of our most common work we do:) and I also started to teach this program, as it s complex meaningful thing.

These kinds of moments happen often, and each one reminds me why this work is so deeply important.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

I would bring more emphasis on education and ethical practice. Today, anyone can buy instruments and start offering sessions, often without proper training. And this can lead to serious issues, clients experiencing nausea, nosebleeds, anxiety, even depression, and the practitioner telling them it’s just “a cleansing process.” That’s not healing; it’s harm. This is especially concerning when working with children. We need clear standards, proper education, and professional responsibility in this field. No exceptions.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

Before I stepped fully into sound healing, I worked in the media industry. Live broadcasting was my daily routine and I lived in that high-pressure world for 15 years. When I first began experimenting with sound healing, I only had three singing bowls and was testing their effects on family members. The results were powerful and immediate. But the true turning point came when I felt the change in myself. I became less anxious. I could relax. The constant pressure I was so used to started fading. Sound healing brought me a sense of calm I had never known and with it came clarity, new visions, and a deep knowing that this was the path I was meant to follow.
