Right now, we are wrapping up another year. I want to take a moment here and reach out to you, because all this shift in the world has asked from you great courage, insight, patience, taking fast actions in many areas of your life. One is not always ready. So, I want to celebrate you, for being here, for staying in the game, when the world sometimes seems to be upside down, I want to honour you for reading this, and knowing you did a great job. You held on. Well done!

Despair, feeling hurt, overwhelmed, and lost are human reactions to specific situations that are sometimes thrust on all of us – I usually avoid those adjectives, because I want you to feel and have honey coming out with your words, to focus on what can be done. Yet here I give you permission to let your feelings flow, cry, laugh, sob, giggle, dance, and just take a deep breath and acknowledge your existence. Like that song goes “all I need is the air that I breathe, and to love you…”.

It is not “just” breathing – breathing is everything, we are reminded, as I recently had our loved mom bravely and hopefully defeating a health situation.

And she did not even make a fuss over it, which is amazing – I never saw her complain, not even now in her eighties, she takes it in and acts – she may get angry and upset, as a prelude to getting things fixed, including her health.

There is so much to be learned from our and your ancestors, people from another era; many of them saw things simpler and more positive, even during hardships – when we combine this with the helpful and awesome technology we have now – it is vital we keep our human perspective – there is so much good to celebrate too!

It is time to adjust your glasses, open your eyes, sit up straight, take that walk and notice that one has to try so many roads, turn big and small stones over, invest in ideas that may not flourish, get many no's before your big yes – which is really a sum of little "yesses" crossroads that bring you to your personal highway – where you start seeing the big picture, the people around you, family, friends, even random journey helpers, that have nodded to you to not give up.

Even if you are a loner, I say, don't give up on people, on connecting, on animals, pets, and nature, and on your dreams. Give up on perfectionism, on comparison, and embrace yourself by being grateful for every little thing that you can imagine. Fresh sheets and a smile always get me going. And chocolate.

Congratulations on making it! Your life is precious, and it is time to put those dreams on paper, and start taking mini steps towards them, I always say daydreaming is like a vision board, with no barriers, so that you can then discover what is important for you to do, and release things that are no longer part of your journey.

12 Mini Shifts for More Ease in 2022:

Maybe we should change, or add, to the New Year’s resolutions concerning huge plans, some smaller, daily intentions and shifts that are more manageable, bring joy and inspire you to take steps towards believing, having hope. And you can have seemingly antagonist approaches to situations and still make sense. I want you to know it is just fine to:

  • Try to do better and not be a perfectionist

  • Embrace chaos and be organized as well

  • Feel exhausted, yet find energy for fun

  • Focus on yourself and pause

  • Want change and not be ready

  • Sit with yourself as well as connecting to people

  • Take some time out from all the noise

  • Make noise and ask for what you want

  • Want to have it all and do it all

  • Do one thing at a time

  • Feel happy on your own, or with your tribe

  • Feel nomad and have a family on your back

It is just fine making this month the way you want it to be!

I would love to hear about your end of year feelings and new ideas for the coming year.

I help you connect, thrive, and find more energy wherever you are!
