Attracting high-caliber clients can be a challenge for any business, but using the right type of messaging, positioning as the authority, and thought leadership can make all the difference. It's not just about sounding professional or using buzzwords to get the likes – it's about creating a connection with potential clients that goes beyond surface-level marketing tactics.

As a business owner, attracting high-caliber clients is a top priority. In this day in age, most businesses do this through social media but here’s one misconception that I want to debunk:

The more likes and followers you have the more you’ll make money

But unfortunately, that has to be the farthest from the truth. You may have or not have heard about a “famous” influencer who literally has millions of followers but couldn’t even fill the minimum order of 20 shirts of merch. Crazy but true.

So what does that mean for us?

That is going viral or just having millions of likes and followers do NOT equal money. Let me get you in on a little secret…

There are buyers (as a friend of mine calls them) ‘Luxury Lurkers.’

Luxury Lurkers are the ones investing in high-ticket and paying in full

They aren’t moved with mediocre content. Luxury Lurkers who would rather read and buy than like share and comment.

It's not enough to simply have a great product or service… So what do you need to do to attract these types of buyers?

Luxury Lurkers, who happen to be the high-caliber clients you want to work with, are looking to solve their problems. They are looking for something specific to solve their problems ASAP which means they also don’t need to nurture these people, they are ready to buy now! (Peep this article about how your high-caliber clients don’t need a long time to decide to buy, AKA they don’t need foreplay) So how do we attract these types of buyers? Thought leadership, authority, and the right messaging.

Thought leadership

One way to attract high-caliber clients is by establishing yourself as a thought leader in your industry. A sure way to establish yourself as a thought leader is to shift perspective, share innovative ideas, and demonstrate ingenuity.

Authority

Owning your position could not be any less important when trying to attract and sell to high-caliber clients. One great way to position yourself as an authority? Talk consistently about your expertise and insights. This means sharing your expertise and insights through blog posts, articles, social media, and other channels. As you show up as a thought leader you are also starting to position yourself as the authority in your industry when you talk about those same innovative ideas everywhere.

Messaging

This is key and one that many look over. Understanding who your high-caliber clients are and what language you use plays a huge role in creating messaging that attracts them while repelling those who aren’t your ideal high-caliber clients. An infusing language that your high-caliber clients use and their internal motivators will make the most significant difference between messaging that calls them in and those that just fall flat.

At the end of the day, Luxury Lurker would rather find a solution that solves their pressing problems rather than scroll through social media, liking and commenting on every post they see.

Attracting high-caliber clients requires a combination of strategy, expertise, and personality. By using the right messaging, positioning as the authority, and thought leadership, you can create a strong and compelling brand that resonates with your ideal high-caliber clients. So don't be afraid to be bold, be creative, and most importantly, be yourself! Remember, your luxury lurkers are watching!
