Adapting to Change and Navigating Life Transitions With Grace

Change is inevitable. Sometimes it arrives as a gentle whisper, and other times as a roaring storm. For me, adapting to change has been a lifelong practice, one that began in childhood through a series of relocations, shifts in family structure, and countless transitions. I attended six elementary schools, three junior high schools, and one high school, learning early on how to adjust to new environments and relationships. Life continued to challenge and shape me through marriages and divorces, raising three children, career shifts, health challenges, including navigating long-haul post-viral syndrome and several accidents, empty-nesting, and the profound losses of loved ones.

Not every transition was graceful, but each one deepened my understanding of resilience and transformation. Over the years, I have cultivated a wealth of tools and modalities that help me, and those I work with, move through life’s changes with greater ease, clarity, and empowerment. Whether you’re facing a health crisis, the loss of a loved one, a major life shift, or simply a new chapter, my hope is that this guide offers insights to help you navigate the unknown with greater peace and trust.


The art of transition: A holistic approach


I bring a multifaceted approach to transition work, drawing from:

Acupuncture points for moving through change


Acupuncture and acupressure help regulate energy (Qi) during transitions, ensuring we move forward without getting stuck in fear, grief, or confusion. Below are key points for shifting energy during times of change:


1. LI6 (Luo-Connecting Point of the Large Intestine): Letting Go


  • Location: On the forearm, about three finger-widths above the wrist crease on the radial side.

  • Use: Helps release sadness, grief, attachment, and resistance to change. Useful when you’re struggling to let go of the past.


2. Point zero: Resting in potentiality


  • Location: In the center of the ear.

  • Use: Helps you pause and center yourself before making a big decision. This point connects us to infinite potential, the still space before action.


3. Yintang: Clarity and inner vision


  • Location: Between the eyebrows (Third Eye).

  • Use: Clears mental fog, anxiety, and doubt, helping you see the path ahead with clarity.


4. LV3 (Liver 3): Bringing energy to the plan


  • Location: On the top of the foot, between the first and second toes.

  • Use: Energizes movement forward, aids in decision-making, and prevents stagnation.


Tip: Apply gentle pressure or massage these points for 1-2 minutes while breathing deeply and setting an intention for your transition.


Essential oils and flower essences for change


Scent is a powerful bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind. These remedies aid in grounding, releasing, and welcoming new energy:


  • Frankincense: Helps release emotional attachments and see the bigger picture.

  • Rosemary: Clears mental clutter and strengthens resilience.

  • Lavender: Calms nervous energy and soothes overwhelm.

  • Lemon: Brings clarity, upliftment, and a fresh perspective.

  • Walnut flower essence: The ultimate transition remedy, helping us break free from the past and embrace new beginnings with protection and adaptability.


Tip: Diffuse essential oils, apply them to pulse points, or mix them into a carrier oil for a soothing ritual of renewal.


Five alchemical feng shui tips for facilitating change


The spaces we live in reflect our internal energy. These Feng Shui adjustments support movement through transitions:


  1. Activate the flow of new energy: Place a small water fountain near your front door to invite fresh opportunities.

  2. Let go of the old: Declutter one item per day for nine days to energetically release stagnant energy.

  3. Create a vision area: Designate a space (desk, altar, or wall) for intentions and inspirations that align with your next chapter.

  4. Use fire energy for courageous change: Light a red candle in the Fame area of your home to inspire bold action and transformation.

  5. Ground yourself in earth energy: Place a heavy stone or ceramic bowl in the center of your home to bring stability amid change and remind yourself that rest is necessary for your system to integrate the changes.

My Human Design Profile (3/5) and Right Angle Incarnation Cross of Contagion have shaped my relationship with transformation. The 3/5 profile embodies experimentation and problem-solving, meaning I have lived, stumbled, and learned firsthand about change, making me deeply equipped to guide others. The 29th Gene Key (Commitment and Devotion) is my Life Work:


  • Shadow: Half-Heartedness – Fear of fully committing to change.

  • Gift: Devotion – Saying YES to life and trusting the process.

  • Siddhi: Synarchy – Finding unity in transitions and seeing the perfection of the unfolding.
