1. Love what you do and never work a day!

As the old saying goes, "Love your work and never work a day in your life", take your work on the holiday. If you love what you do, then you won't mind doing it on the beach! When I go on holiday overseas, I still work with my clients. I don't simply just drop them because I am away. I take them with me (virtually of course). I love working with my therapy and consultancy clients from my 'office' or sun lounger on the beach. They love it too! They even say they get a new perspective from it and so do I! So, enjoy your summer and enjoy working from the beach or by the pool. Everyone is a winner!

2. Don't forget to schedule a time to relax and have some fun

We are always creating time-blocking schedules that pack in our daily tasks for both home and work. Many of my clients are shocked when I show them that I have different schedules for different times of the year. We have to remember to adjust our time blocking according to the weather, work obligations, children's schedule, and any other projects we have on the go. Don't forget in the summer to schedule a time to relax and have some fun as winter soon creeps around and you'll have all the time in the world to work in the office!

3. Stay hydrated and change your routines

When you live in a tropical country, like me, in South America, summer-like temperatures are normal for most of the year, so the first thing you can do is to stay hydrated, all the time, whether you are inside the office, with air conditioning, or outside going about your life and business. Apply sun block every day. I would also say to plan smaller meals and more frequently, throughout the day, and if you can, keep the more intense, focused work for early morning or after 4 pm, when it will feel a bit cooler. If possible, change your routines a little bit, like finishing work a little earlier so that you can enjoy an end-of-day walk or an early bird swim. Summer is a wonderful season to organize lunches and happy hour with your work colleagues, at a place with trees, fresh juices, and tasty, lighter meals, this gets the group connected and motivated to feel happier and more efficient during the summer and warmer days and weeks.

4. Maintain your health and go at your rhythm

Don't be mad at yourself for being less productive than usual. As wonderful as you are, you also deserve to treat yourself, maintain your health, and go at your rhythm because the heat can be challenging, so don't worry and be happy.

5. Celebrate your wins!

When we celebrate our wins in business, we stimulate the rewards center of our brain which results in increased motivation. Celebrate the big and small wins. you will have more than enough motivation if you celebrate what you have accomplished in your life and business. My extra tip is to set a reward and celebrate accomplishing a goal. One way to come up with a reward or celebration is to make a "Joy List". Have a list of all the things you enjoy in your life and then pick something off the list when you set your next goal. Happy goal setting!
