Versandra J. Kennebrew
Author, Wellness Coach, Healing Artist
Versandra Kennebrew is a dynamic motivational speaker, healing artist, and holistic health educator with more than two decades of transformative experience. Passionate about empowering individuals, groups, and non-profit organizations, she has dedicated her career to guiding others toward optimal living and resilient thriving—even in the face of life’s toughest challenges.
Since 2000, Versandra has taught the art of touch to future professionals and lay persons alike. She designs innovative programs that teach couples and relationship coaches essential touch techniques to enhance communication and intimacy, while also championing the benefits of yoga, plant essences, and music to elevate overall well-being.
Her personal journey—a path marked by overcoming homelessness and mental illness—fuels her empathetic approach and fervent advocacy for those in need. Versandra’s leadership extends to community service, having served on boards such as Health & Fitness ICU Detroit, the Coalition on Temporary Shelter Detroit, and Gateway Center Atlanta’s continuum of care, along with her elected role as Community Service Commissioner for the Detroit Department of Human Services.
As an international conference speaker who has collaborated with the National Alliance to End Homeless and the National Coalition for the Homeless, she has given a powerful voice to marginalized communities, inspiring change on social justice and poverty alleviation fronts. In addition to mentoring elementary and high school students in leadership and communication, Versandra has coached hundreds of adults in personal development and self-care.
Her six-year tenure with Toastmasters International district leadership, where she led more than a hundred live and virtual leadership training sessions, culminated in the prestigious Program Quality Excellence Award. She has also made her mark in broadcast media as the co-host of Atlanta Radio’s Health & Healing Chronicles and the host of Optimal Living Starts Here on the East Alabama’s BEAM TV, a show devoted to supporting military veterans and their families. An AmeriCorps VISTA alumna honored with community and national service awards, Versandra is committed to service at home and abroad, with plans to serve as a Peace Corps community health specialist.
A graduate of Irene’s Myomassology Institute and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and a CYT200 certified yoga teacher with an accomplished background as a facilitator of relationship wellness experiences.
