Tina Feigal, M.S., Ed.

Parent Coach

After a childhood fraught with parental mental and physical illness, abandonment, and profound loss, Tina Feigal is grateful to use her experiences as "fuel". What she went through as a kid has evolved into powerful tools for helping others to heal their parent-child relationships. She sought help to prevent handing her trauma to her three wonderful sons, who are all thriving! She offers what she has learned from authorities in the field and her own experiences with clients and trainees to bring her learning to help families thrive, as well. When encountering those parents who feel that wielding their authority is the most effective approach, she kindly communicates, "We know more now." Tina uses recently revealed physiological effects of adult communication on a child's body to demonstrate that when they act up, it's because of heart and brain function, not willfulness. She helps reveal the parents' (it was how they were raised) innocence and the children's (it's their bodies reacting) innocence when things go awry, which sets the stage for new learning that creates harmony. Here's a recent quote from a client: “Tina took a runaway train headed straight at our adoptive family, stopped it, and turned it around toward connection and calm.” Among her other achievements are: serving the Ukraine Psychological Association with trauma-effective techniques, training 850+ parent coaches worldwide, helping to create a team of 23 coaches in a treatment foster care agency (greatly decreasing placement disruptions due to behaviors), offering parent trainings for foster care employees, Target Corporation, Best Buy and Major League Baseball, and supporting military families dealing with deployments. A TEDx Talk, authoring Present Moment Parenting: The Guide to a Peaceful Life with Your Intense Child, working on a new book for adults who are involved with youth sports, and enthusiastically contributing to Brainz Magazine, all complete the picture.
