Neurodevelopmental Practitioner, Kinesiologist, and Hypnotherapist

AnneMarie Smellie is a UK-based neurodevelopmental practitioner, kinesiologist and hypnotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience supporting children, adults and families experiencing anxiety, learning differences and emotional regulation challenges.

She is the founder of Quester Therapies, where she specialises in identifying and addressing the underlying causes of behavioural, cognitive and emotional difficulties rather than focusing solely on symptom management. AnneMarie’s work integrates neurodevelopmental movement, primitive reflex integration, auditory processing, nutritional and toxicity considerations, and mindset support - recognising that resilience, confidence and learning capacity are shaped by the nervous system as a whole.

AnneMarie works extensively with neurodivergent children, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and dyspraxia, as well as adults affected by chronic stress, anxiety and low self-esteem. Her approach draws on applied kinesiology, neurodevelopmental principles and hypnotherapy, allowing her to tailor support to each individual’s unique neurological and emotional profile.

Alongside her clinical practice, AnneMarie is a speaker, educator and author. She has published Nurturing the Neurodiverse Child, written to help parents better understand the underlying factors that may be contributing to their child’s learning, behavioural or emotional difficulties. She is also the creator of Wired4Learning, an online programme designed to support children’s brain development, regulation and confidence through structured, foundational work.

AnneMarie is currently preparing to publish Hidden Thoughts, a book drawn from her years as a hypnotherapist, featuring real-life client stories alongside practical techniques and insights into how emotions, beliefs and thought patterns shape our lives.

She is known for her grounded, compassionate style and her ability to translate complex neuroscience and emotional insight into clear, practical guidance - empowering people to move from survival into resilience, confidence and long-term wellbeing.
