Amanda Youssef
Registered Psychotherapist, Executive Director
Amanda Youssef is a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor dedicated to fostering connection and healing within individuals and communities. As the Founder and Executive Director of Valley Connections Counselling, a thriving multidisciplinary mental health practice in Burlington, Ontario, she leads a team providing vital support to individuals, couples, children, and families.
Since 2009, Amanda has focused her clinical work on individual and couples therapy, developing a specialized expertise in relational trauma and its profound impact. Her approach emphasizes creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their experiences and embark on a journey of healing. Beyond her therapeutic practice, Amanda is a Certified Meditation Instructor, integrating mindfulness techniques into her work and inspiring clients and other therapists to cultivate inner peace and resilience.
Recognizing the pervasive nature of isolation and the importance of shared experience, Amanda created and co-hosts "The Sound of Loneliness Podcast." This platform aims to provide a voice to stories often unheard, bridging connections between strangers through the power of storytelling. Her passion for building community extends to her fellow mental health professionals, whom she supports in developing their clinical and leadership skills, confidence, and courage within the field.
Amanda's commitment to connection is woven throughout her life, both professionally and personally. She believes in the transformative power of shared stories and strives to create spaces where vulnerability is embraced and healing can flourish. When she steps away from her professional roles, Amanda finds joy and rejuvenation in the simple pleasures of family life, cherishing moments spent with her children and pets. She also nurtures her creative spirit through writing, singing, and painting, finding inspiration in nature's beauty during walks among trees and lakes. Amanda Youssef's multifaceted approach to mental health and community building reflects her deep commitment to fostering connection, healing, and hope.
